Name: Edward Solomon O'Flaherty
Nickname: Eddie
Age: 17
Birthday: 10/17/91
Place of birth: Iowa City, IA
Grade: 11th
Appearance: Shorter in stature, about 5'6”, with an average build. Ed is not overly athletic but stays in shape. He has blue eyes and short, dirty blond hair. He usually wears jeans and t-shirts, not being an overly fancy guy.
Personality: Eddie O'Flaherty is laid back and easy going. You will hardly ever find him in any mood other than good. That doesn't mean he doesn't get upset, but Eddie has always been the kind of guy to put up a good front. He deals with his drama on his own time, and he has no time for people who try to bring him into their drama. If he doesn't like a situation, he'll walk away. He also doesn't like it when people try to walk all over him, and will try his best to stand up for himself, even if that means taking a punch (which he has many times before).
Town area: Riverside
Job: Currently unemployed.
Transportation: None, currently. He had to sell his car before he moved.
Family background: Eddie's dad Tom has been a car salesman since Eddie was a boy. It has always seemed like his dad knows EVERYONE. Eddie's mom is the athletic director of women's sports at the University of Iowa, but has recently gotten a new job at USC. She has been living in the area looking for a permanent home since the fall, and recently found one. Eddie's dad quit his job and the two have moved out to California, and now Eddie has to start in a new school.
Eddie also has one older brother, Tom Jr., who is in his first year at USC. He is studying business, but his primary focus is playing football. He is currently red shirted.
Class Schedule:

2nd Period: Chorus
3rd Period: Calculus
4th Period: Chemistry
5th Period: American History
6th Period: American Literature
How long have they been attending Silver?: Just started.
After school Activities: Currently none, but he is looking.
Likes: Laughing, driving, people who are nice, movies (especially comedies), most types of music, theatre, camping and other outdoor activities, and football.
Dislikes: The One Upper (the person who always has to tell a bigger and better story), girls who act like they're better than everyone else, country music, people who still treat him like a kid, having to get to know a bunch of new people.
Other Information: Eddie has just moved to the area from Iowa. He was actively involved in theatre and athletics at his school, and had a few good friends, but is very nervous about how his life will be different in California. He is excited to be somewhere that is not Iowa, but he hasn't had to try to make friends in a long time.

200 word writing sample:
Eddie stared at himself in the mirror. In about an hour, he would be attending a brand new school for the first time. Meeting new people for the first time. And if it wasn't bad enough, the auditions for the school musical were that evening. Eddie had been so focused on the move and saying good bye to all his friends that he didn't even think about having to audition for a show so soon. He had very little that was audition worthy, as he had not worked any songs or monologues for months. He could always fall back on “There Is Nothin' Like a Dame,” but that was such an easy song, and it wouldn't impress a new director, that's for sure.
“Hi, my name is Edward S. O'Flaherty and I will be performing a monologue from “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” by Steve Martin, and...”
No, that wouldn't work. A comic monologue and a comic song? Neither of the pieces would show conflicting range. So he could do a dramatic monologue, but the only one he knew well enough was Shakespeare. Did he want to be THAT guy his first day of school, trying to bust out some Shakespeare? No.
A knock on the door broke Eddie from his reverie. “Hey Ed, I'm going to head out to look for jobs,” Ed's dad sounded just as despondent as Eddie felt. “I'll drop you off at school if you want.”
“Sure, dad. I'll be down in a sec.” Eddie looked in the mirror one last time before throwing on a shirt and grabbing his bag. “First day, Eddie... you'll figure it out...”
