I have this idea that was born out of a realization that certain characters are entirely connected at the hips to their SO. Like, every single TC they post together. And I was thinking, should I make a seperate board for each IC day that's just for established romances to blossom? I mean, that way you don't have to do three different threads with the same two characters, you can just do one and then on the "main" TC board hang out with friends or join the main plot or whatever. I like romance and all ( I present my shoujo manga collection as evidence) but I worry that when charries end up in romantic entanglements they don't interact with anyone else, which means they don't seem like they're really part of the larger game anymore, and I want to encourage people to interact with a more diverse group of people without squashing their romantic subplots. Thoughts? |

Not a bad though, if we remember to use it. Also would the NC-17 rule apply to the romance board? Not that I want to write smut but thats one of those areas where it could cross the line.

The NC-17 rule is in place for CYA reasons:
a. I'm not interested in attempting to limit our player-base to those over 18, which thanks to laws about minors and pornography we would have to do
b. The characters themselves are underage
It's not too likely that the law is gonna come after us, but I'd like to at least diminish the possibility by playing by their rules.

To be perfectly honest with you all, if this was turned into a smut fest, where anything and everything was allowed I'd walk out the door and leave the sim in an instant, I don't do smut and I don't enjoy reading it.
The sim is great the way it is, why change something we know works so radically.
By Smut I mean sex scenes and graphic stuff at that, its just not fun to read on a sim...

TY Dry. I only asked because I know there are people who like to push that border on romance/smut.  Good thing you weren't here when the sim began then Owen, there was some trashy things happening. |

No worries, Owen, I'm not going that route, for the legal reasons mentioned as well as the fact that I personally am not comfortable with it. If people want to write erotica, there are other boards for them to join.
I was suggesting a Romance Board not for purposes of smut, but for purposes of allowing people to explore their romance plots and still have friends and enemies and such. So you can write your romance every single week, and advance that, but still interact with other charries. Because I worry when people only tag the same person over and over again that either the other player will feel smothered because they can't explore other types of plots, or that both players will get bored. But I don't want to tell people that they HAVE to branch out, because this should be fun. So I was trying to think of a way that would allow other types of connections without stepping on the romances.

We don't need the extra drama like when Silver first started. *rolls eyes* I had someone who was pegging everyone of my characters, the only one he didn't get was DJ. I feel bad though he was a great writer.

Okay, cool. Then when we move on to Monday I'll implement this and we'll see how it goes. =3
And of course you can interact with your SO during the regular TC, too, just I want to give people an opportunity to mix with more people.
