Valentine's day Interests (Jade for anyone)

The music in his car was flowing freely to the outside world, Jade was in a happy mood had been for a month since the camp out, he didn't feel so alone in his sexuality in this new town. Though his twin had been the one to take the blame for pretty much everything that went on in the last month at the house, their parents had come back fuming because the neighbours had complained about the noise and the parties going on in side the house while they had been away.

Jade found this entirely amusing and meant that he would swap with his brother so the two of them could share in the punishment even if one of them had taken the blame solely, Jade pulled into his usual parking space with a happy sigh, the car always seemed to draw attention from people in school because of its make and cost. Jade's was next to his twins who was already there.

He took his book bag from the footwell of the passenger side and climbed out of the car, by the time he had reached his locker he couldn't help but notice that the place was jostling with happiness, jesus he thought could these people just be happy quietly.

Jade turned back into the crowd to make for the caferteria for breakfast he slammed shoulder first into someone, his hand shot out to steady the person he had bounced into.

"I am so sorry." Jade said in apologies.

Ever since the camping trip, Jeremy was torn up inside. He liked Jade, maybe even more than liked him but it was something he didn't know how to aknowldge. He stood in line for breakfast at school, even though he wasn't hungry. He watched the happy couples walk hand in hand all lovey dovey, it almost made him ill to look at them. What was wrong with him? He was good looking, smart, had talent in the family and he was caring. Maybe that was it, maybe he was too nice!

He rolled his eyes as a couple ahead of him were making all cute comments to each other. 'Geeze, people go get room and leave the rest of us to wallow in our singleness!" He thought to himself as someone bumped into him. He was about to yell at the person when he discovered it was Jade.

A half smile crept up on his face. "He-hey Jade, it's fine really, I umm I should really look where I'm going sometimes." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously as well as let out a small laugh. "Can you imagine the way people are acting today? Like they don't do it enough."

"Hey their Jeremy its good to see you." Jade said to him as he brushed himself of. "Its been a while." Jade said as he retrieved his hand he figured the boy was confused about himself, he'd been there and could certainly recognize the signs as much as the next gay guy. "I'm glad to see your fine, I nearly sent you tumbling." Jade said to him.

"Can you imagine the way people are acting today? Like they don't do it enough."

Jade chuckled at this as he looked around the room seeing people being lovey dovey, "If I had a boyfriend to share it with it wouldn't be that much of a problem, but I have the worst track record with guys imaginable, so today I am on my own flying solo." Jade said to him knowing he would probably shock the boy with that statement but he liked him and well it was clear that Jeremy wasn't likely to make the first move if he didn't know he was gay himself. "My twin of course is somewhere around here with his girlfriend, you'd probably notice theirs two of me here at school, and no he doesn't care that I'm the way I am, you'd think he would be bearing in mind I have his face and he has mine." Jade said to him. "Of course two very different personalities, but without coordination we'd end up coming to school with the same damn clothes on every day without fail. Its an annoying identical twin thing I think." Jade said with a smile. "You got a sister here right, in our year, so thats a twin thing to or your months apart." Jade said to him he had seen them hanging around the school.

"No harm done, I should be used to it playing characters at Disney." Sure no handsome guys ever tried to take him down, it was usually some hormone enraged teenage girl or a bunch of little kids which would attack like a nest of weiner dogs.

"I've decided to call today Singles Awareness Day aka SAD, for the people that don't have someone to call their own." Sure the name had been thrown around for awhile but it seemed to fit. He was flying solo, so there was no one else who could interfer with anything. "At least you have some sort of record, the closest I had was this crazy assistant my dad had, the guy wouldn't take no for an answer. I swear it teetered on stalking sometimes!"

"So if I see you with a girl, I'll be safe in knowing thats your brother." He smiled, not a great attempt at humor but it was the best he could think of at the moment. "I do have a sister, we were five minute apart. I got the bragging rights of being older and she got the bragging rights of being the first baby of the new year. Sure I like to tease her but I wouldn't trade her away for anything."

Jade smiled, "Disney, with kids puking all over you or kicking your shins, the bruises and the smell." Jade said wrinkling his nose as he tried not to think to much about that. "I bet you have a lot of fun, and some job satisfaction from it though." Jade said with a smile.

"We all have to start somewhere, mine was 21 and a intern for my families company, dad found out about it last summer fired the guy, just make sure you never sleep with the bosses son it never ends well." Jade said to him. "I was sixteen at the time so borderline illegal if not outright illegal, but being confused about things isn't very much, it wasn't for me, Alex, my twin that is was my rock, still is, he saves me from myself and I keep him from screwing his life up with some girl, at the moment I think he has two on the go, of course I've been kissed by most of them." Jade said. "If I was straight I'd be flattered, as it is most of the time its just gross." Jade admitted.

Jade smiled as he talk about minutes, "It always seems important to the younger twin right, I mean to you and me whats ten minutes or whatever, but to everyone else twin included it matters." Jade said to him. "I think I'm nearly half an hour older than Alex, I know that had he been born ten minutes later we'd have different birthdays." Jade admitted. "You mind if we sit down, because while talking to you is fun standing with food on my tray just isnt good, it smells good tastes horrific and I need the coffee intake, I go stir crazy in the morning if I don't have at least one coffee before lessons." Jade said.

"Oh sure, not a problem!" Jeremy replied nodding towards a vacant table. "I'm so used to standing when I work that I forget that no everyone likes to do that." He headed to the table and set his tray down across from Jade.

"I like what I do, its especaially fun when the little kids see and they get all, 'Ohhh I just saw you in the movie!!'" The idea brought a smile to Jeremy's face. "I'll admit it up front, I'm almost always Prince Charming to Cinderella, so of course the first thing I hear is 'Can I try the shoe on?' to which I have to break their heart and say something like 'The shoes are back at the palace' or 'Cinderella already has them on.' But once they see her, all is forgiven."

"I wasn't even going to go to bat for this guy, I did everything short of spraying him with cold water. I have to admit though, he had a bad boy streak in him which was hot but the creepy factor set in and put me off. After that I almost gave a vow of celebacy."

"I can't even think of what life would be like though without my sister around other than I would have been the one pressured to take the violin."

He looked around the hall wondering where the boy in question was, but couldn't see him so his eyes returned to Jeremy, "Prince Charming uh, kids are cute like that, I actually like the one in Paris, six flags is kind of cool the roller coasters are what I get a kick out of, the faster or the bigger and the most sick looking ones, they tend to be the adrenaline kickers." Jade said to him with a grin. "You have the smile for it at least, I always imagined Charming to be blond but..." Jade just gave him a cheeky grin.

"Creepy is almost always weird, but sometimes creepy is good, their was this goth back in my old school and he had the eye liner and the blusher and the green flecked hair, it was incredibly creepy as a look but he was hot... but I kept it hidden from everyone until I was sixteen, my parents and actually my whole family are catholic's and we are Irish so its not really the done thing, finally I was back home and my grandmother who is in her eighties sat me down and asked me when I was going to bring my boyfriend on a holiday." Jade said. "My mother spewed her coffee all over the table, my father practically ran out of the room screaming and their was Alex laughing his backside of. My grandmother is one of the most observant people in my family and of the people I know, so I shouldn't have been surprised." Jade said to him. "I wanted to be angry at her, because it wasn't done on my terms, but she actually did me a favour, I would have been in the closet probably to past this point in time, where my family were concerned had she not done it for me." Jade said with a smile.

"My brother sometimes acts as my ears in situations, if we are in a club and the music is up high he has to translate for me, I'm fine in here where the noise level is good and their are no strobe lights, I can hear you just fine at the moment but their are times when I struggle or I miss words in a conversation. When I was seven I had a very bad ear infection which cost me the hearing entirely in one ear and partially in the other, I don't wear a hearing aid as you can see." Jade said to him. "But we learned sign language together and I learned to read lips." Jade said to him. "I don't see myself as disabled because I do everything someone like yourself can do, I'm a jock I swim I'm on the wrestling team, but I'm thankful for having Alex because sometimes it helps just to have some one to talk to or curse at in sign language." Jade pointed out.

"We have to look like we had walked right off the screen, the thing I hate the most is the fact I have to shave almost every day to keep the look up." he rubbed his cheeks. "I feel like I haven't hit puberty with the clean shaveness!" He laughed. "Haven't been to Six Flags in a long time, I'm not a coaster person myself I like things like bumper cars or the teacup ride. It amuses me when people can ride any coaster the turns you upside down and every which way yet something so simple as teacups and they say "Ohhhh that ride makes me sick."

"I don't disagree with that, but it felt like at times watching everything I did and I don't give free shows!" Jeremy added the splash of humor to something serious. "Granted he had that bad boy streak in him, complete with a motorcycle and leather, which I find very hot but he was too eager, almost desperate at times it seemed." He leaned on the table resting his chin in his hand. "And since I haven't really come out to anyone, I didn't want any negatvie publicity to anyone in my family."

"It's good you have someone like that, much like Jewels and myself, I've wondered who we'd go to if either of us wasn't around." Jade had confided in him about his hearing loss, that was a major plus in Jere's book. "Slow me down if I ever talk too fast, and if you ever need to talk I'll be here." He felt some butterflies fluttering in his stomach. "You maybe want to do something tonight?"

"I like the clean cut look, of course the just couldn't be bothered to shave dishevelled look can be pretty good to." Jade said to him. "I pretty much keep myself well groomed, what with the swimmer I find it necessary, don't laugh but their are some rumours about swimmers that are true." Jade said with a wicked smile.

"If its any consolation it gets better when you come out of the closet, and if your twin knows you anywhere near as well mine does she knows, probably your mom to, women seem to know these things." Jade said to him. "It was singlely the most intense and scary thing that happened to me, and though my parents struggle with it and their religion they are incredibly supportive of me, even when they think my partners are pigs or worse." Jade said to him as he took a card from his pocket with his number on it and fiddled with it for a while.

"I'd be lost without Alex, so I know what you mean when you say that." Jade said to him. "I'd like that, this has my number on it, I'm free from five onwards basically, my parents are throwing a party I'd rather miss for their friends and business asociates its not a fun thing to have on valentines day." Jade said to him. His phone buzzed he checked the mail and sighed. "Alex is being quite insistent I meet him at his locker, do you like pizza? I know a good place for it, text me let me know and well work out where we can meet up and walk to it or drive to it, just a fun easy evening, something I am in great need of or so I am told." Jade said to him.

"Oh and what we talked about, no one will hear it from me, I won't do that to someone." Jade said. "Text me." Jade said before leaving the table reluctantly he gave the boy a smile as a parting gift.
