(ooc - using my new character sample post just to get Felipe into things!)
"Felipe! It's past ten!"
"Não. Eu quero dormir ainda mais..." he mumbled into his pillow. The same pillow into which his face was currently pushed. He'd only crawled home last night - this morning? - at 3.30 and was far from ready to leave his bed.
"Felipe!"
"Ok, ok... I'm coming, mama!"
He rolled out from between his sheets and rummaged for his clothes. As he slept only in a pair of shorts, it wouldn't really do to wander downstairs as he was. Ana Izabel was sure to be up and about and besides, his mum would have a fit.
"Bom dia," he greeted on a yawn and his little sister giggled. "What?" he demanded in sleepy good humour.
"You've got your t-shirt on inside out!" she replied and she laughed again.
Felipe favoured her with a glare... The only problem with that was it was pretty obvious to anyone present that his heart wasn't in it. Not one damned bit.
"What do you have planned for today, Felipe?" asked his mother as she placed a mug of black coffee virtually under his nose. He cupped his hands around it in open gratitude.
"Going back to bed," he replied.
"Felipe... no.
"I was joking, mama. Thinking I might check out the town. You wanna come too, Iz?"
"Can I mama? Can I?"
"You promise to look after her, Felipe?"
He drew a cross on his chest with his finger. Ana Izabel giggled again. "What now?" he asked with a scowl.
"Your heart is the other side, silly!"
Felipe rolled his eyes and then returned his attention to their mother. "I'll even take Rufio with me," he assured her. No one would bother them if the family dog was with them. Well, they might try but they wouldn't get all that far.
"Fine. Be back for lunch."
He settled back to enjoy his coffee with his sister opposite barely able to control her excitement. After all, they'd only arrive in Santa Monica yesterday... The entire town was one big adventure to her.

OOC: Assuming they actually went out of the house hahaha
BIC: Shane was in no way, shape or form made to be up this early. But... she was. And she had no idea why. Wait.. no... she did. She was working.. Or supposed to be. But she hadn't seen Yumi in... weeks... so it seemed to her that she sort of bailed on her. Without a call or anything. She wondered if the way she felt was how she made other girls feel when she just up and left without so much as a phone call. Maybe this is why she didn't do relationships. She wanted out... she wanted to just... so she left her house. She hadn't slept in days.
In a sense she was worried about Yumi. But on the other hand she was angry and upset and didn't even want anything to do with her.
But what if she came back?
**No, Shane... you need to move on... the girl left you... can't you see? This is what you did to other girls and it is coming back to bite you in the ass... now get your happy ass out there and find someone else...**
Someone else? Was she thinking of other relationships now? Yumi really fucked her up in the head if she was thinking of other relationships instead of just being her old self and going through girl after girl night after night.
She was walking down the street with a coffee in one hand and a cigarette between her lips. How she missed Yumi but now wished she could just friggin move on.. find another girl... a better one? She wondered.
She was wearing a pair of ripped up blue jeans and a white t-shirt with her hair normal - the way she always had it - with no make up on. She wore a little eyeliner from time to time but today she felt like going all natural. She kept walking, turning the corner to bump into a girl... accompanied by a guy (Felipe).
"Oh... shit.. I'm so sorry!" Shane said as she looked the girl over to make sure she wasn't hurt.

(OOC LOL! Yeeah - I should have added that part ;P )
"No you can't hold Rufio's leash," Felipe told his sister for the third time in as many minutes. "ou know he'll pull ou over."
"But Filly..."
"Ana..." The warning was clear as she knew he hated that pet name.
Ana Izabel pouted in the way onlt she seemed to have mastered and Felipe drew in a deep breath. "Fine but when he drags you down the street on our face don't say I didn't warn you."
That seemed enough to convince Ana to change her mind and she huffed a shoulder towards her brother.
It lasted for all of ten seconds.
"How about we get some ice cream?" he suggested and her face lit in the brightest of smiles. "I think I saw a place near home and..."
A girl walked around the corner aead and straight into Ana who rebounded into Felipe who, in turn, did the same to an outraged Rufio. Ana yelped, Felipe grunted and Rufio barked as loudy as he could.
"Oh... shit.. I'm so sorry!" the girl stated as she checked Ana over - an action mirrored by Felipe. Their mother would be furious if he allowed her to get hurt but she was fine.
"No. I wasn't looking," Ana replied.
"We were too busy thinking of ice cream," added Felipe with a wry smile.
Rufio merely barked again.
"Hush," hissed Felipe. "We are new in town," he went on to the girl. "This is Ana Izabel and I am Felipe." He glanced down at the huge dog. "And he is Rufio..."

Shane smiled as she helped the girl up.
"I totally didn't mean to run into you... maybe I should pay attention too. Too much going on in my head to have even began to think about looking where I was going before going there." she laughed a little.
She heard the dog's barking and shook her head.
"I'm sorry doggie it was a mistake!" she said giggling. "Does he bite?" he sounded like he did... but she figured she'd ask anyway.
She smiled at Felipe and then at Ana... who happened to be a pretty young lady herself.
"It's nice to meet you! I didn't hurt you, did I?" she asked her.
She would feel really bad if she did. Hell plus she was new... and what a way to kick off a new friendship... knock the girl over and all! She looked up at her brother and smiled.
"I'm Shane... Shane McCutcheon." she smiled. "I'm a seasoned silver-goer..." she laughed a little. "Been here quite a long time." she said as she looked at the two of them and the dog. "I could show you around if you want."
She was a friendly person no matter what... unless of course you gave her a reason not to be. Then there was a problem. Because it took a lot to get Shane mad at you.

"Hi, Shane," Felipe replied. "Good to meet you." Ana bobbed her head in agreement. "But no, you didn't hurt me one bit," she went on to assure the other girl. "Rufio doesn't bite either," Felipe added with a short laugh. "He's all bark, aren't ya?" He messed the overgrown dog's ears as he spoke and Rufio panted up at Felipe, adoration in his gentle, brown eyes. "We are both going to attend Silver school also," Felipe told Shane. "It's good to know at least one friendly face before we start on Monday... right, Ana?"
"Definitely!" enthused his sister. "We're going to get some ice cream," Ana declared. "Would you like to comne too, Shane?"
"Please, do," Felipe added in reinforcement. "We only arrived here this morning and there's so much we want to know. Like what happens at the weekend? I mean, where do people go and what do they do for fun?"
"Filly! Ice cream!" Ana tugged on his sleeve and he scowled down at her for using that damned nick name again.
"OK... ice cream. So... will you have some with us, Shane? I promise we won't throw TOO many questions at you!" he finished with a slow wink and a broad grin.

Shane was sort of overwhelmed already by all of the asking for her to come to get ice cream with them and gave a gentle smile and laugh.
"Yeah I'll come." she smiled at the two of them. "Then I can SHOW you what we do for fun on the weekends!" she said. "This is Cali, baby! There's always fun here!" she smiled as she pat Rufio on the head carefully.
She knew not to show dogs fear but in the same token that dog was big as hell. Once she realized he was a gentle giant she grew more comfortable with being around him.
She looked up at Felipe and over at Ana.
"Ok... then let's go get some ice cream!" she smiled as she looked over the two quickly and then led the way.
She knew where all the best spots were in Cali... she especially knew where all the fun spots were -- amusement and the like.
"I work at a skate shop... I cut hair in there... it's my brother's shop but he set up a little area for me to do my hair dressing... most people come in for mohawks but I do more than that." she laughed a little.
She shrugged and walked on.
"People come to skate.. then they talk about parties.. then you randomly get invited... its the adventure that is fun here." she smiled.

"Great!" enthused Felipe with a bright smile. It seemed he and Ana had struck it lucky by meeting Shane as she was lively and fun to be around. Plus she seemed quite happy to show them around the area which could only serve as an added bonus.
Rufio panted up at the girl, tongue lollong comically out of the left side of his mouth. He'd take any amount of fuss and for as long as she was prepared to give it.
"You work at a skate shop? Like ice skates or road ones?"
Felipe's question hung on the air as they'd reached the ice cream parlour by now and her reply would have to wait until after they'd placed their orders. Stay, Rufio," he said sternly as he wraapped the dog's leash around a bar that had been erected outside and for that exact purpose. "I'll bring you some ice cream." It seemed to him that there was no shortage of entertainment - be that local attractions or - better still - weekend parties. If there was one thing Felipe Luis Vila Nova hated above all others it was spending his Saturnday night alone in his room. A cardinal sin in his eyes.
"Mohawk?" He frowned as they took their seats, tall sundae glasses in front of each of them. "Not sure that's a word I've come across before. Is it a type of skate? Or is it a hair cutting style?" For some reason he felt it would be the latter rather than the former.
"Silly!" Ana Izabel said on a laugh. "Its not skates. Its hair. You really can be estúpido, Felipe!"
He glared at her before attacking his ice cream. "So your brother's shop... it's road skates, right?" Opting to ignore his sister was perhaps the best option.
