Finlay had not attended Jasper's birthday party, even though Riley had invited him, because he had promised to take Delilah out. Taking Delilah out had ended with them at her place, watching movies, which had lasted so long into the night that he fell asleep on her couch. He hadn't intended to stay the night, so he was really quite surprised when he woke up and found that he had, and to top it off he had quite the crick in his neck from sleeping upright.
He hoped her parents hadn't come home, or at least hadn't noticed or cared that he was in their living room early on Sunday morning (although he knew that the Amello family were not particularly religious, so it was slightly less awkward with them than with other families.)
He stood, stretching and trying to work out the kinks in his neck, padding into their kitchen in the hopes of finding something to drink. He wanted to go wake up Dee and tell her goodbye before heading for home (he was sure his father was worried about him), but at the same time it didn't seem like such a good idea to go up into her bedroom; at least, he knew how his own father felt about boys in his daughters' bedrooms, even now they were adults, so he figured Dee's must feel the same way.

Dee had fallen asleep with her head on Fin's lap and had stayed that way for almost the entire night. It was nice, feeling that comfortable with him. Granted, they had not meant to fall asleep, but it was fine. Her parents wouldn't have cared even if they had come home. Sometimes it was good to be as ignored as she was.
She had woken up about 30 minutes before Fin would, slipping quietly from the couch. He looked so peaceful that she did not want to wake him up just yet. she had just left a gentle kiss on his mouth before pulling back. she had gone upstairs for a quick shower. it was Sunday, which meant she could relax. Dee changed into a pair of black jeans that sat low on her lips and a paint splattered black tank top, leaving her hair down.
The girl headed toward the kitchen, smiling when she found Fin there and awake. "there's juice in the fridge...help yourself." She told him, grabbing a bagel from the bread basket and pulling it apart. "Are you gonna head home or stick around?" she asked. "You can call your dad if you want."

"Thanks. I'm gonna stick around, if that's okay with you. I'll call dad to let him know so he won't worry." He wouldn't mind his son staying at Dee's, but he would mind not having any contact at all the entire night. Fin could already here his father demanding what if something had happened?
Fin was grateful for Dee's offer, and immediately went to rummage in the fridge for juice. After pouring himself a glass he made his way over to his girlfriend (still an astonishing fact in his mind) and slid one arm around her waist, attempting to do this and kiss her at the same time -- and failing miserably. He made a grab for the glass as it slipped out of his hands, but it was too late. It hit the floor with a crash, and juice splashed across the kitchen. The tall teen turned brilliantly scarlet, the pleasure from the simple domesticity of earlier quickly dissapating as embarrasment took over.
"...I'm so sorry!" He wailed, searching for a dishrag to clean up with. What a way to make an impression on a girl! He had planned on staying, had looked forward to spending a lazy Sunday with her, but this was not a good start to what he had hoped would be a romantic and relaxing day.
