This is another thing I've had people ask about. Apparently proboards is really intimidating! It's really not that hard, though, I promise.
First off, if you're new to proboards, click on the help link at the top. They have a short video that takes you through EVERYTHING. It's super useful.
First off, registering. It doesn't matter what name you register with, as long as you change your display name to your character's name. Either First Last or Nickname Last is fine. You're allowed player accounts, too, of course, for general chatter.
To change your display name or email (or add an avatar or signature or such) click profile. It's up there under the banner, see? With Home, Help, Search, Members etc. Okay, once you're there, go to modify profile.
If you want a signature use the image code like so:
Posts! You can add tags and smilies to your post. You can quote or modify. You can preview. You can even spell check!! Smilies are pretty self explanatory, and I think modifying and previewing and spell checking are, too. So let's go on to tags, shall we?
The following is a demonstration of the tags on the top row!
Bold
Italics
Underline
Strike through
[glow=red,2,300]Glow[/glow] (can change glow color and amount)
[shadow=red,left,300]Shadow[/shadow] (can change color, amount, and whether the shadow goes left or right)
make a horizontal break
Change font size
Or font face
Or even font color!
Add a youtube video
Insert a link. However, that one is annoying and just turns a url into a link. If you want to, say, link to the Wiki You do the following:
And the next two add rows and columns to your table, but you have to place them exactly right which I can't figure out. =p
You can add a superscript
Or a subscript
You can teletype
Annnnnd that's your lesson in tags! And also about everything I can think of that you need to know about proboards. >.>; If I didn't answer your question, ask away.

Preformatted text is great for copy-pasta because it preserves
line breaks and spaces. and apparently font size, too.
Align your text to the left
