Mal had a fun night on Friday at the party. She had gone to JJ's right after and spent the night with him. She had already posted the video online. it was just enough so people got the idea, but not enought o make out any faces. She was good like that. This way no one would be too embarrassed by their reaction to the cake exploding. Mal go good video of this one girl crying. Mal was making videos. She even remade the cake exploding video to music. It was awesome. Any song she choose and it got better. This video was probably almost one of her best besides the music videos.
Mal was drinking her third cup of coffee in an hour. She was a caffeine addict. Mal could not even sit still in her chair. She finished ehr third cup and was about to ask for a fourth cup. Mal could not sit still. She was laughing up a storm. "Oh my god, you have to check this out. I just made the new video to music from Cake....I am serious..there was a boy band from back in the 90's. Considered American Indie....it just seemed perfect."
Mal did not even show the video, since she was not talking to anyone in particular, "here take a look." Now this might seem stupid to just hand over her I-phone so someone could check out you tube, but Mal did not think in terms of distrusting. she just thought the idea of a band named Cake and a video of an exploding cake was poetic.

The previous night could only be deemed a very successful evening spent with the gorgeous Aly Durand, in Tyler’s mind. They didn’t have sex, but they had gotten pretty close, and seeing how she seemed more than happy with his ‘efforts’, not to mention just what she did for him, he could see himself happily whiling away some more time with the girl. She had an amazing face and body to look at as well. And she was right about one thing. He loved how the bikini looked on her.
He was happy enough to put off anything else with the girl until later on though. After all, a man liked him needed some alone time every now and then. Not too much though, he preferred alone time with a beautiful woman for company more. His old man and step mother weren’t back from the night before, his father had called him a little earlier, and seeing as how they wouldn’t be back until that night, he was going to take advantage of having an empty else, one way or another.
But first, Tyler felt he deserved coffee, and a morning of doing pretty much nothing. Had to enjoy himself before school on Monday as much as he could, though he couldn’t see himself having more fun today than he did yesterday. From what Aly had said about her sister though, Monday morning at least would prove to be entertaining.
The moment he walked into the coffee shop, planning on bringing something back home, his eyes landed straight on the girl laughing away at something on her phone. He stared at her for a moment, thinking she looked familiar. Then it clicked, she was the camera girl from Jasper’s party. Well, this should prove to be interesting.
He grabbed his coffee first, and seeing her hold out the phone to everyone and no one in particular, pulled it from her hand before taking the seat next to her. He watched the video, a grin lighting his face as he did. Speak of the devil. “Bands named after junk food, now, why isn’t that a craze that took off?” he murmured, amused, before handing the phone back. “That’s some good quality footage. You and, Brittany, isn’t it, and your other friends do good work. Don’t worry, I won’t say a word to the unhappy birthday boy. Actually, have to say, I’m impressed. Can I buy you a coffee? Uh, sorry, can’t quite recall your name.” he told her, offering a sheepish grin before holding out his hand. “I’m Tyler.”

Mal had moved onto her fourth cup of coffee. She got complimented on the video by lots of people and then some guy took the phone. Not that Mal cared. She knew she could take the phone back if she wanted, but she liked people to admire her work. Call it an ego trip, but she was good. Mal took her phone back and took a sip of her coffee as Tyler took a seat. She recognized the guy from Gould, but she did not know him. Mal was trying to determine what this guy was thinking, but he offered to buy her a fifth cup of coffee so she finished her previous one. "Sure I could always use some coffee." She said smiling and then shutting her phone off.
She leaned back in her seat and eyed Tyler. "Right I know you from Gould." She had to hold back a laugh since she knew about the Valentine's. She found out from Brit exactly who got what Valentine and from whom. Aly got one from this guy if her memory was working correctly. Then again she could be wrong.
"I don't think I gave you my name." She said looking at him. Mal was aware she was not the kind of girl guys like Tyler hung out with, which made this even more interesting. She smiled at the guy. "The band Cake had some pretty good hits, but not well known. Most of the good bands are not well known, but you seem like a top 40's kind of guy so I will save you the boring details about how you are missing out by listening to that crap." Mal and her music. "I am glad my secret is safe with you...i guess I owe you my name in that case....its Mal." Mal said with a sarcastic tone, but it was in a playful manor. Mal was just being Mal. Trying to see what Tyler was here for...

Tyler couldn’t help but grin when Mal pretended she didn’t know who he was. Of course she did. All of the girls who went to Gould, and the majority of their Silver counterparts, knew who Tyler Durnham was. And lusted after him to varying degrees. She would be no different. She was a good actress though, he would have normally been convinced if he wasn’t quite aware of his effect on the opposite sex. “From Gould, yeah.” He grabbed her enough coffee, resuming his seat as he handed it over.
“Hmm, not exactly top forty. Don’t think you’ll catch me listening to the Pussycat Dolls anytime soon. Watching, maybe.” he chuckled. He couldn’t help it if he appreciated beauty after all. There was nothing wrong with that. “But, I think I’ll leave you to your somewhat obscure bands. I’ll listen to what’s good instead. No offence.” he grinned. He had quickly realised that she was one of the few who seemed ‘immune’ to his charms. He didn’t mind too much, she didn’t seem his type.
It didn’t stop him from checking her out though, and making it obvious that he was. She was a female after all. “Pleasure to put a name to such a beautiful face Mal. So, you’re the face behind the camera at Jasper’s party. I had wondered why someone would be filming it.” he smirked.
He stretched his legs out underneath the little table, letting one foot brush her own. No reason he couldn’t have some fun. “So, what have you got on for today, Mal?”

"Thanks." Mal said as she took the coffee and put her phone away. She eyed Tyler. He had a rep and she had heard of it, but it did not impress her. He was just another jock type. Womanizer and player. Nothing special. What would impress her would be his ability to stick to one girl, but she doubted that would ever happen. Yet she knew him like everyone else did. You always knew the people on top. "Obscure bands. Those are the best bands. They have been lost among this popular, sell out stuff. That is not realy music. Trust me....what is good music. By society standards is not really good music. The best music is the music only a few people know about." Mal was a firm believer in that, but he could believe what he wanted, "But no offense taken. You have just been depreived. That's not your fault." Mal nodded, "Yes I was behind the camera. I got some good shots at that party to. It was a damn good prank. I admit its not my best work. I am better with music videos, but filming a pranks is just as good." She said. Mal had a small ego when it came to her music videos. "Jasper...was that the kids name. I just know he went to silver and was a friend of some chick I know. Nice to have a name." Mal was immune. If Tyler was flirting in any way she did not really notice. Some times she could be oblivious. Mall did notice the leg brush. She smiled and just bumped his leg back, "Now why would you care about my plans?" She asked him wondering what he was thinking. She was not dumb. Just look at her. She had noticed Tyler checking her out, but she also knew she was far from his type. Mal wondered what game he was playing, but she liked games so why not. "Actually I have no plans. I might meet up with some friends later, but other then that I am an open book free to write my own chapter."

It seemed, to Tyler anyway, that as dull he thought acting seemed, being behind the camera would be just as boring. Having his father work as a bigwig at Mirimax, wanting Tyler to follow suit, made him see just how much of it was long, hard work. It certainly took the shine off it. He was happy with how he was now, rich, good looking and not instantly recognisable. Though it might be fun for a little while, the novelty would quickly wear off. Being followed all the time, constantly having your photo taken. He was all for admiration and having women throw themselves at his feet. But in a more private manner.
He did wonder what ‘friend’ of Mal’s counted herself as a friend of Jasper’s. He honestly couldn’t see them running in the same circles. But, for all he knew, she could be best friends with Riley Hastings. After all, Melodee had her friendship, or whatever it was with Judd, and he had his own amusement with Maggy. Some things you just couldn’t pick.
“Can’t I just be curious?” Tyler laughed softly, thinking that Mal’s interest might be a little more than she let on. If she was keen on getting away with you, itseemed likely that she would have lied, made up some plans to stop him from coming up with any of his own. “Well, it seems to me, that you’re currently free, as am I. Why don’t you educate me on some of these obscure bands you love?”

Mal finished the coffee and pushed the cup off to the side. She watched Tyler for a moment until he spoke up. She smiled at his answer. All she could think of to reply with with was "Don't you know curiosity kills the cat." She smirked and eyed him. Then she bust out laughing.
"I could educate you on a lot of obscure bands that I know you will fall for. It beats all the crap that comes on the radio today. Now before I start my rant I need to warn you. There is a guy named Patch that goes to our school....don't listen to him if you ever ask him about music. He has a warped sense of what counts as good music these days." Mal said. Although there was probably no need to say it, but you never know. Mal would defiantly be telling Patch, Evan and Brit about this later.
For all Mal knew Patch might go seek out Tyler to correct Mal's view on music. Then again that did not seem like Patch. But none of this was the point. Mal was excited. "I always do enjoy the opportunity to bring someone over to the dark side of punk or alternative rock." Mal pulled out an IPod with head phones.
"I will start you off easy. Its a band called 'The Clash'. its possible you might have heard them. They are a British Punk rock band." She scanned through the list of songs. "This is from the first album. Self titled called 'Remote Control.'" Mal said as she handed the IPod over to Tyler.

“Patch eh? Sounds like a...classy guy, surprised I haven’t ran into him before.” Tyler commented with a smirk, wondering how the guy got the nickname. It had to be a nickname, no parent could possibly be so mean as to call their child Patch. He couldn’t recall anyone walking around Gould’s corridors dressed as a pirate. “But, I’ll make sure not to ask him about music then, take your word your taste is better.” He was more likely to take a girl’s word about anything. Especially if he would get something out of it. He was just smart that way.
“Dark side? Just don’t expect me to start wearing eyeliner, dress only in black or have a Mohawk anytime soon. Unless, that is your type, then I just might be persuaded.” he grinned, though, an obvious lie. Tyler was happy, more than happy with how he looked now, and many women were as well. He wouldn’t mess with something already close to perfect. Sure, he was vein, but anyone who looked as good as him would be. He saw nothing wrong with being proud of, and taking care of, what he had, and his looks were part of that. They’d gotten him plenty so far.
He put one headphone in his ear, so he could listen to both the music and the girl. He humoured her, grinning as he let a minute or so of the song playing in his ear. He liked it when people got the wrong impression of him. They often did. Good looking and a jock, so he obviously had to be stupid, the popular thought seemed. It was quite the opposite, though he considered himself more cunning than intelligent. His talent was people, playing them, enjoying them.
“It’s good.” he conceded with a shrug. “I don’t have that album, might have to get it. Only have their London Calling album. Don’t mind that one, though, always preferred The Sex Pistols. Shouldn’t judge a book by its cover Mal.” he chuckled. “Though I admit, that’s about the extent of my knowledge in that music genre. I’m sure there’s much more you could teach me. Go out with me tonight.” He didn’t have a date after all.

Mal just smirked when Tyler said he would take her at her word. Patch had taste, but DJ Fluff's taste was not as good and never would be. Then again he would say the same thing about her. It was their thing. "You would be smart in believing me. I know a lot about music. Although that's not my passion, but I use music in my work." He passion was videos and photography. That's what she loved. Making music videos, prank videos and taking pictures. It what she did best. Hell she was popular on you tube and that was the most mainstream thing about Mal.
"Well that look does sound attractive, but not ,my type. I don't do guys that care more about their appearence then their girlfriend. I prefer a guy who does not mind being scene at his worst and without his hair gel in his hair." JJ was just like that., "I prefer a man who does not dress to impress, but rather dresses how he feels." She told Tyler and tyler seemed like the kind of guy to care about his appearence, she hoped she did not hurt his feelings but it was the truth, "A mohawk seems a little much." She laughed, "But I could give you on if you really wanted." She winked.
Mal let him listen to the band. She was sure she had him and he had never heard of the band, but damn he shocked her when he revealed he knew the album London Calling and even the Sex Pistols. Damn. Damn. Damn. She actually smiled at him, "I never knew a football player to have such taste. Its a shame you don't know more, but I do enjoy the Sex Pistols. You must know about the song the Queen did not like then. Talk about classic." Mal was surprised. Then he asked her out and she shook her head and leaned onto the table, "I appreciate the offer, but I have a boyfriend, so even thought I admit you shocked me, I must decline going out." Mal then stood up, "See you around Tyler. Good to know you are not like the other dump jocks." She smirked, "I hope you can find another date for tonight."
