Chase was a great boyfriend. He was kind, charming, sweet, thoughtful, romantic. Any girl would love him. Thats the Chase, Aly had fallen for over the summer. The one she had agreed to date. The guy she remembered from her days in New York. That guy was also a fantasy, a dream, not a reality. That was one side of Chase. The side Aly tried to stay on, but lately it seemed that no matter what she did Chase seemed to find a reason to get angry.
Ever since they ran into Jasper, Chase had been becoming incresingly aggressive. At frist the hitting was every now and then, the mental abuse was there more often, but Aly was able to deal with that. Now it seemed lately all Aly was doing was covering another bruise, or crying in her room after another fight over something that was her fault yet she had no clue what it was. She was becoming a much better liar then she once was, or so she thought she was. Who knew if anyone could see through her deception.
Tonight Aly finally had a night alone. Chase was involved in another engagment which meant Aly had the night free to walk along the board walk and just think. In her hands was a gold necklace with three diamonds on it. Another apology gift.
Aly looked over the railing down at the ocean as she watched the waves crash against the wooden beams. She looked at the gift then back at the ocean. She was trying to find that courage she once had but it was so far gone she wasn't sure she could find it. Then again perhaps this was just teenage hormones dictating its time for her to be depressed who knows.
Aly sighed and spoke out to the air, of course that meant other people could be listening, "I need something to do tonight."
