Colby was tired of being inside, there was only so much Cartoon Network someone could take before it started to become the same thing over and over. He wasn't supposed to drive for a couple more days just to make sure his injuries weren't too horrible.
He went to the kitchen where his folks were playing a game of gin rummy, so far his father was losing and big time. "Hey I was wondering if we could go out to eat tonight? No offense to your cooking mom but I'm getting cabin fever being inside."
His father grinned, "Anyone special you want to ask to come along?"
"Well, yeah I'd like Cat to come with us and," he took a deep breath and said the following almost like one word. "Iaskedhertocomestaywithuswhileherfamilyisoutoftown."
Sophie arched one of her eyebrows. "And when were you going to tell us this Colby? You two are engaged but not married yet. Where would she sleep?" She gasped when Colby gave her a look.
"Soph, don't worry, Colby is responsible they'll be fine." Herman assured her. "Colby that's fine with me, go ahead and give her a call or whatever it is you guys do now a days. In fact, dress up a little make it like Valentine's Day but with a happy ending this time."
Colby smiled and headed upstairs and quickly sent a text to Cat. "Dress up tonight, we're being treated to a dinner out! See you soon!

He put on a nice muted orange silk shirt, black dress pants and dress shoes and head back to the kitchen where his folks waited.

Catalina was at home packing a suitcase up when she got Colby's text. She had the perfect dress something he has never seen her in. It was a maricale she was holding up the way she was and not breaking down like she would of did before if something like this happened. Sending him a qiuck text back that said, "I will be waiting I love you now and forever your Kitty Cat." Taking a quick shower she did her hair and make up. Her hair she decided to leave down and curled it some so it was wavy and her make up was dark and brought out her eyes and lips. Then she got dressed and grabbed her purse. Making sure she had everything she went back to packing.
Not knowing if they were getting her stuff now or later she brought it down and put her three bags by the door. After that she went around to make sure everything was locked and put away and looked good. She checked her messages just a few from her aunt and uncle checking on her, she would be sure to call them later. After that she went and sat in the living room while waiting for him. It would be nice to have the night out that they missed on Valentine's day. There life it seemed was never boring and she really did wish it was at times, maybe it could settle down now and they could plan the wedding and just enjoy being a couple with out any drama.
Checking the time she wondered when they would be there, they just said it would be shortly which could be anytime.

Colby and his folks arrived a few minutes later. This was the one time Colby was quite happy not have the younger two along because all they would do during the drive is giggle and make kissing sounds, even though one day they'd be in his shoes.
Why is it when you want something so badly the journey there seems to take forever? Any other time and driving over to Cat's place was nothing but tonight it seemed like time wasn't on their side.
His father pulled into the driveway of the Corinthos' home. "Thank you Jeeves." Colby teased his father.
"Your welcome sir, now go get Miss Cat, Sir." Came a reply like an old, stodgy British butler. That was always a fun thing about having a voice artist for a parent, you never know who you could talk to next and it made bed time as a child was much more fun when it came to stories.
His mother hopped out and opened the door for him, giving the night a red carpet treatment or as close to the red carpet as they could get.
He headed up to the door and rang the bell and smiled as he waited for his new finacee to answer.

When Catalina heard the door she put down the magazine she was flipping through and got up and answered the door. Opening it she smiled at her handsome fiancee Colby sweetly. "Hey babe you look great, that color is perfect for you" she said and kissed him softly on the lips. Waving to his parents in their car she picked up her purse and smiled at him. "I have my bags packed" she indicated the three sitting by the door. "Do we want to take them now or later? I don't mind coming back for them" she added with a smile.
She was looking forward to her night out with Colby and his parents, it is like a adults only night. She sure felt like a adult all she has been through, she did not feel like a kid or a teenager, she was definatly older then her years with all that she has been through. She checked her make up and hair one last time. "We get to make up for Valentine's day which I am happy to see happen. Dinner with my handsome fiancee and his parents I can not think of anything better" she said and kissed him again.

Colby smiled and kissed her back. "You look absolutely elegant tonight babe." He waited for her to get her purse and giving a wave to his folks who waved backed. "We can go ahead take them now, they'll be safe while we have dinner." He lifted the set up. "You sure you have everything and you notified your aunt and uncle? I just don't want to get into trouble with them."
He led her to the car where his father got out to help with the bags, he admired Cat for a moment. "If he hasn't said so you look like a million bucks tonight Cat." He opened the backend of the SUV. "Hope you brought your appetite, we're going to Texas Steakhouse and I promise to be on best behavior."
"Thats why we're sitting a couple tables down from you two, so you can have your time together and feel free to order whatever, we'll foot the bill tonight." Sophie said nudging Herman a little.
"Wha?? I'm always well behaved!" He mockingly complained as he put the bags away then helped Cat inside then made sure Colby was in safely.
Finally he got in. "We have a short distance dedication from CJ to CC who says 'You are the world to me and you are the light of my life," he said like Casey Kasem. "And now for that song." The opening of 'You Light Up My Life' started.
Colby slid down in his seat. "Ohhh geeze dad! I don't need that cheese right now!" He looked over at Cat, "Forgive my dad, he just got home from the looney bin." He was red from embarrassment

Catalina giggled at how Colby's father was. She always did have a good time around his family that was for sure. "Yeah I have everything and I talked to my Aunt and Uncle so they know where I am. They just ask I call them every other day to let them know how I am and such" she said with a sweet smile.
Getting the car she smiled at Sophie Colby's mom. "Thank you for letting me come out with you tonight" she said to her. "And thank you for letting me stay with you" she said honestly and sincerly. She would not take advantage of them and she would pull her weight around the house. "I will help you out around the house whenever you need help" she said to her. "Texas Steak House is a great place to eat you can not go wrong there." She and his family had the same taste in many things, food was just one of them.
She took Colby's hand when he got in the car and laughed at what his dad did. "He is sweet" she said. Stroking his cheek she leaned over and kissed him softly on the lips. "You have the best family" she said honestly knowing his parents could hear. "Your dad may have just got out of the looney bin but he is great and loves you very very much."
