Jay was not drunk. Yet. But he had plans to get that way. Yes it was a school night, but he was always in the mood for a drink. Despite being underage which ol get him in trouble one of these days. He knew sooner or later he might get caught by the cops or an adult who was not fooled by a fake ID. Although drinking was not all you could get in the bar. It was also a restaurant so they swerved food and soda. So kids were allowed in. Jay tended to order wings and a beer with his fake ID.
Tonight he was already one beer in and had finished half his wings. He was watching a football game on TV and sipping his beer. Normally he would prefer to be with friends, but they were all busy which Jay hoped to be by the end of the night.
He wiped his hands with a napkin and the wet nap the guy behind the bar had given him. He looked around to see if anyone he knew was there. Although possibly conversing with someone who looked underage could be bad, Jay wanted company, besides he liked to know who would come to a bar and grille. Jay found this place fun. There was music on the jukebox and dancing if he found the right woman. Or talking if soem guy came along that he knew. Hell he would settle for talking to a stranger.

Lily's day had mostly been uneventful. There had been her yoga class in the morning and since then she'd spent the rest of the day at home...not so exciting. Her dad had watched every football game they could get on TV that day and finally during the night game he'd declared he could go for some wings. And of course it wasn't hard to bribe Lily to go get them. After all, while she didn't mind watching football, she wasn't so into it that she could watch it all day and she was already bored and itching for something to do. Plus, while Lily wasn't exactly materialistic, no 16 year old girl would turn down some extra cash to keep for herself.
Lily didn't have her license yet but she had her permit which meant she wasn't supposed to drive without anyone else in the car. Her parents had let her drive alone one other time for a short errand so as the rest of her family was preoccupied with the game, she grabbed the keys had headed out. Her dad had put in an order of wings at a restaurant/bar, but Lily didn't really think twice about the whole bar thing as she walked inside. After all, she was only there to pick up food.
Her blonde hair was down and she was dressed pretty casually in jeans and a fitted V-neck tee. Her flip flip clad feet padded inside as she informed the person in the front that she was there for pick up. She was quickly informed her order wasn't ready yet and she nodded and leaned back against the wall for a moment, looking around as she waited. That's when she spotted Jay. Jay had been assigned to tutor her last year and he'd actually helped her a lot. He was also friends with Haden, her evil ex. But while Lily was still very cross with Haden, she really had no issues with Jay.
She smiled and walked over to him. "Hey," she said with a smile. "What are you doing here?" she asked innocently just as she noticed the beer on his table. "Oh," she said quickly feeling a little dumb, "right...I'm just here to pick up food, but its not ready yet," she added. Lily had never had any alcohol before but she knew that a lot of kids at school drank, however, she'd never actually seen anyone do it and she couldn't help but wonder how Jay was able to do it in such a public place without getting in trouble.

The only reason Jay got away with drinking was because the bartender was probably drunk and he was not driving. He would have a taxi pick him up assuiming he didn't find someone else to go home with. Of course that depended on if Jay was drunk or not. One beer was not bad, but he was not sure how many more he would have. That would remain to be seen, but right now he was enjoy his wings and sipping his one beer.
Jay smiled when he spotted a certain blond. Jay had heard about Lily and Haden, but he had no idea of the details. Jay didn't ask and he didn't want to know. He just knew they dated and broke up or something like that. He smiled at Lily and sipped his beer. "Hey you." He said to her. "Have a seat. Join me until your food is ready. Want a drink? and yes it can be something non alcoholic if you prefer that." He said not knowing she had never had alcohol before.
Jay put his beer down and corssed his arms on the bar. "I am here to watch the game. Trixie has her jerky boyfriend over and I had nothing else to do, so I came here to watch the game and enjoy some wings. Want one?" He asked. Jay was nice to Lily cause he had enjoyed tutoring her. She had been a rather good student and not as boring as he thought she would be. "What kind of food did you order?"

"Sure," Lily said, climbing onto the bar stool next to him. The girl was pretty short so she used the bar to help push herself up onto the stool. Most girls her height (she was just 5'2") probably would have gone around wearing heels all of the time but not Lily. Heels were bad for your feet so she wore them sparingly. Plus the last thing she needed was to trip in her heels and sprain an ankle. She got enough injuries from snowboarding that she was always working through. She didn't need any injuries from just walking around.
"Well yeah, I should have any alcohol," Lily said. "I drove over here...and I kind of only have my permit so if I got caught I'd be pretty dead," she explained. Sure, Lily had never drank before but it didn't mean she was opposed to it. The thing that was surprising about Lily Spencer was that she wasn't as innocent as she seemed. Sure, there was a lot of innocence about her due to lack of experience mostly, but she wasn't against trying the things her peers did and she was well aware of what went on. She also could care less about school work and did things like drove without a license that wold probably put any true goody-goody to shame.
Really, the only reason Lily had worked as hard as she had last year with Jay as her tutor was because he was cute and she hadn't wanted him to think she was dumb. She wasn't dumb...no she wasn't the most brilliant in the world, but she wasn't dumb. She mostly just didn't care. Actually, she'd had a tiny crush on Jay when the tutoring had first started, but she'd connected with Haden shortly after and well, the rest was history. Now, part of her wondered what would have happened if Haden had never come along...would she have played out some crazy tutor fantasy? Probably not, but it was still interesting to think about. Even so, Lily didn't really think of Jay that way anymore. Sure, she still thought he was very good looking, but she was still far too into her ex to really notice any other boys past the realm of friendship.
"Yeah, I was watching at home," she said, "that's what the wings were for," she explained. She didn't want to say that they were really for her dad because that made her sound lame. "So you all by yourself here then?" she asked. "That sort of sucks." She wondered if she should invite Jay to watch over her house. Her parents had never met Jay but they already loved him since he'd helped Lily pass her classes last year. Still, would her dad be able to keep his mouth shut about the alcohol on his breath? That she wasn't so sure of...

"Yeah I took a cab. I know better then to drink and drive. So you are a smart girl. " He said to her as he pushed the wings he had finished off to the side. "A little rule breaker. i didn't know you had it in you. Driving with just a permit." He had thought Lily to be a perfect little saint. it was nice to see her break a rule even if it was a small one in Jay's mind.
He looked at his beer then back at Lily for a moment, "I have only had two, that will probably be my limit." Now that he had company and if she was sober and he was drunk, that was not fun, so if Lily stayed sober then so would he. "I think the bartenders are stupid here since they haven't caught my fake yet." he joked.
"So what kind of wings? Buffalo or Barbeque?" Jay asked. Jay had the Barbeque. "I am not by myself anymore. You are here keeping me company for now." He said with a smile as he finished his beer. he motioned for the bartender. "A water and get the girl something to drink thats non alcoholic." He told the bartender. "YOu might as well drink something while you wait." Something without alcohol of course. See Jay listened. besides he had a respect for Lily. Since she had been his sutdent at one point. Well sort of.

"Well...I guess I was too lazy to walk," Lily admitted. After all she'd worked out a lot today so her muscles were tired. She'd just started yoga and she was working different muscles than she was used to. She knew that she'd probably sore for the next few days. "It seems you know better than to drink and drive too...how smart of you," she teased back. Had this been a year ago, Lily would not even had had the guts to tease him back, but she was a bit more open now. She wasn't exactly outgoing but she wasn't as shy as before. Haden had loosened her up a lot. Maybe he had treated her like shit and she wouldn't forgive him for that, but she wasn't the same awkwardly shy girl that she'd once been and that was at least refreshing.
"Shh," she smirked, "you shouldn't say fake in a bar," she said with her voice down but the bartender was at the other end of the bar so it seemed to be safe. "So that's how you do it," she said. "I'm not really allowed to drink because it can affect performance," Lily said, "although I don't really see how as long as I don't drink when I have practice or a competition," she said, "it's probably the coach's excuse to keep us from drinking underage," she reasoned, "but its not something I really want to chance right now."
One of the better parts about being a professional snowboarder was that she had a legit excuse to be straight edge and no one could really tease her for it. Lily wasn't against alcohol and weed and whatever else her peers were into but she wasn't sure she was ready to try any of them yet - even if she was a bit more social now.
"Buffalo," she said simply. She was pretty sure her dad had ordered the extra hot ones to but she still didn't really want to mention she was getting them for her dad as that seemed lamer than not drinking. "I'll have a water too," she told the bartender with a smile before turning to Jay as the guy slid two waters across the bar. "You don't have to stop drinking on my account," she told him, "it doesn't bother me or anything," she informed him.
