With Colby being out of commission for awhile, Greg jumped in and helped out at Jackson's Pizza Place. It was a decent way to make some money even though he didn't really need it, there was the need though that he was being useful in some capacity.
The best part of the job was being able to wear jeans and a tshirt. No uniforms for Jacksons. It was casual and the work got done. Greg had the order pad and hit the tables that were his for the night. He had five of them which wasn't bad and in the couple of hours he put in already he had earned $125 in tips, thanks in part to a small team of basketball players who had come in.
"Gregory, break time!" His father hollered from the kitchen. "Order what you want, no charge!" Another perk of being the owners son.
"I'll have a small white pizza, small salad with ranch dressing and Coke." Greg ordered, even though he had to make his own salad and get his own drink but then he could cheat and put a little extra dressing on the salad as well as a couple extra tomatoes.
He sat down at a booth near the register because even though he was on break, he didn't clock out so it was an eat and work situation. He took the script for 'South Pacific' from behind the counter and sat and down and read through it as he ate.
It wasn't until he heard someone clear their throat that he looked up to see who it was.

Kian was a bit burnt when he woke up on the beach. Not badly though. Thank God for spf50. He looked in his bag and his watch told him he had missed dinner at home. He pawed through his things and found a twenty dollar bill so he decided he could do pizza. While he was eating he could decide whether he wanted to dare the Rave everyone had been talking about. He stood and brushed the sand from his body. It was only a moment to gather his things and head to his jeep.
He thought he remembered a pizza place that he heard was good. "Jackson's Pizza," he murmured as he saw a sign ahead. He pulled into a parking space and grabbed his book '50 Monologues for Young Men'. He had an audition the next week and he wanted to be prepared. The place smelled heavenly and his stomach growled in ravenous desire.
The guy at the counter seemed familiar somehow, but Kian wasn't sure from where. He also seemed completely zoned out so he made a soft coughing sound in a bid to get his attention. "Hey," he said, smiling when light eyes focused on him. "What's good tonight?"

Greg was snapped out of his reading when he heard the voice. "Oh sorry!" He apologized to the other teen while grabbing a menu and putting a book mark into the script. "Just doing a little prep work for an upcoming audition." He lead the teen to a table.
"Personally the white pizza is good, white cheese sauce topped with shrimp, crab, tomato and black olive but then thats always my favorite." He gave that smile that usually put people at ease. "The other one thats popular is Jackson's combo." He pointed out which had black olives, mushrooms, sausage, green pepper, topped with sauce and covered with dough and baked. "Takes a bit longer but you will be stuffed once you finish." At least for himself two slices were enough, anymore and it would mean an extra five minutes on the treadmill. "While I give you time to decide, what would you like to drink?" He saw the book of monologues on the table. "Looks like you have an audition coming up as well. Whats the role or the show, if you don't mind me asking?" If it was for school, it was a good way to scope out the competition anything else he wasn't interested in.

"Coke please. And the white pizza sounds great, so I will try that. There is an audition for a recurring extra on a series about a gay bar. The character is a waiter," Kian said with a smile. He didn't worry about another competitor, he figured he would either get it or he wouldn't. "Do you go to Gould or Silver?" he asked, feeling stupid that he didn't know who or who didn't go to school with him. He had been much more socially conscious in New York, of course Julliard had a much smaller student body.
"I know both the schools are having auditions at the moment, but I am trying to keep myself open for professional try outs. Are you a theater person?" Kian asked, for there had been something in the way the other boy's expression that made him think so. "My name is Kian and I go to Gould."
Kian leaded back against a halfwall that separated the counter area from the rest of the restaurant. "What are you doing working on a Saturday night? Shouldn't you be at the rave or something," he asked, thinking someone as good looking as the young man would probably have lots of dates."

Greg wrote the order down as he listened about the role. Internally he cringed at the thought. After the time he had with Kirt, he wanted to distance himself from anything gay as an actor, at least for now. There wouldn't be competiton at least on his end of things. "I'm a Silver kid, just started after new years, so far it hasn't been horrible."
"To be honest, I'm also a professional actor normally but I recently removed myself temporarily just so I could be a normal kid if even for a short time." There was someone else who could at least understand. "I'm Greg, a pleasure to meet someone else who is in the business as well." He quickly put the order in and got the Coke for Kian.
"I'm helping a friend who was attacked a couple nights ago plus this is my dad's shop so I like to pitch in when I can, and I had to think do I go party and rely on my bank account or do I jump in and make a little extra for the night," he paused making sure no one else heard. "Plus my food tonight is free."

"So you're not doing anything professionally at all at the moment? You must have been a child actor then... you're too young to have burned out otherwise," Kian said non-judgementally. He had been immersed in the business from the sides all his life. His father had been a cameraman so he had been on set a lot, done paging just for fun and his mom was the assistant to a high price publicist. So he had heard a lot even when he wasn't supposed to be listening. "I have only been professional six months so it is all still pretty exciting. I have only done theater so far though."
"Free Pizza! Now that's an incentive to work. My parents are both in show business so we were lucky if there was stuff for sandwiches in the fridge," Kian explained. He sipped his coke and continued to watch Greg. "It's good of you to watch out for your friend and your dad. You're kind of like me I guess. Lived here all your life but don't really know many people. I went to school in New York the last few years so my friends have changed a lot. Loyalties changed all that stuff."
