Sarah had left the music shop and went home. Her mom bitched at her, but Sarah just ignored it. Nothing new. She hoped Alex would show tonight. She had plans to meet up with Sadie at the Rave, and she hoped to introduce Alex to Sadie. Sadie was easily Sarah's best girlfriend. They had met shortly after Sadie started at Silver and they had been bff's since. Since Sarah met BJ, it was only fair Alex meet Sadie. Perhaps BJ would be there too.
Sarah got ready in her best rocker outfit, which consisted of ripped jeans, and a Purple and black shirts that had rips strategically placed all over. It did not show anything at all. Then she put on some black boots and she was set. Just add some braclets and necklaces and Sarah was ready to go. She sent a quick text to Sadie and Alex, "At the Rave, meet @ DJ booth"
After she sent the text Sarah made her way to the rave. The one place everyone knew the way to was the DJ booth. How could you miss it, which made it the best spot to meet up with someone. Sarah told her mom she was going out, but not where. Sarah readied her fake ID just in case and drove to the rave. It was packed, but she expected that. Sarah walked in and made her way around the crowd she wondered if BJ and Alex would show, but she knew Sadie would be there for sure.

Where was Sadie when the text came through? Anyone that knew her would have answered that question in a heartbeat. And they'd most likely be right. The one place she went when she needed to think, the one thing she needed in order to organize her sometimes messy thoughts... And that one place was Carribu Coffee, the one thing being, this time, a triple cappuccino.
What did she need to think about? This one was trickier and harder to answer, since Sadie was always thinking about something. Her current preoccupation, though, wasn't what you'd regularly find her thinking about, being daughter of a US senator. But Sadie was proud and she would never call daddy asking for cash. And there it was, her current reason for needing this cappuccino so bad when she knew she was supposed to some other place at that moment. She needed a job and she needed a roomie, that's as much as she had figured up to the point Sarah sent her that text message.
Of course she read into it that her friend was already there, making her way to the DJ boot when Sadie was, well, not and that obviously worried here even further. Bu that was Sadie being the journalist, jumping to conclusions before pondering over the fact that it could be just Sarah setting a meeting point and nothing else. Startled, Sadie jumped from her seat, tucked the small draft of what should have been a very thoughtful plan of possible solutions to her afflictions and made her way to the counter once again. She was stressed, she clearly needed another cappuccino before heading to the party...
After what seemed to be an eternity, Sadie set foot inside the already crowded designated party space, wearing a black jeans skirt, bright blue top that matched her eyes and a long high heeled boot, the second cup of cappuccino in her hands. The DJ boot, right.
A few steps away from the rendezvous place, Sadie could spot Sarah and not only because she was her best friend, but mainly because Sarah was, well, hard to miss in her uniqueness and that was exactly one of the reasons the girls got along so well.
"Sorry" she approached her friend with an excuse. "I had a cappuccino emergency..." she added with a smile, showing Sarah the drink. "They wouldn't let me in with it, some guy had to drink it to make sure it was alcohol free and now it's pretty much ruined. Unless you want the anonymous guy's spit..."

Sarah smiled at her friend and gave Sadie a quick hug, "Just got here my self actually so you are not late." Sarah had to speak in a louder voice. Not only was it noisy, but being near the DJ booth did not help matters. Actually if you think about it, it made her have to talk even louder. Okay perhaps she should have thought things out, but sadly Sarah had not. She smiled at her friend and eyed the drink. "No thank you. I only enjoy the exchange of spit with one guy and that's not him." She smiled and laughed, "Trash cans are over there." She pointed.
Her friend and coffee. That should not have shocked Sarah in the least. As a matter of fact it did not shock her at all. She knew what Sadie was like. One of the reasons the girls got along so well. The were both unique in their own way. Then again Sarah was fairly friendly and got along with just about anyone except her boyfriend's brother's ex. Talk about a mouth full.
"Glad you could make it, for a moment I thought I was going to have to navigate this place myself. I thought it would be fun to attend. You know how I love a good party. Although the music could use a little work." What was with all the techno and the glow sticks. It was totally a cliche on your typical rave. Did no one have any imagination anymore.

Sadie held out the spoiled cappuccino away from them as Sarah embraced her, in a warm greeting. "Thanks" she replied, eying the trash can Sarah pointed out. She made a quick walk to the can and was back cappuccino-free shortly after.
"Do I" Sadie stated, with a smile. Sarah was all about having fun and parties were always a most for her bff. Sadie didn't look forward to that kind of fun every night, but she was open to new experiments and such involved leaving her comfort zone, a thing she was prone to doing these days. She believed she might end up as a better journalist because of it. "True" she agreed, her eyes drifting towards the DJ booth.
"You really thought I would bail on you?" she suddenly asked, a frown across her delicate face. "And if I did, not that I would, you still have a few connections to fall back on. I know, I know, they're not me" she joked, smiling "but Alex might be able to fill my spot... Where is he anyway?"
Alex Edwards. Sadie hadn't met him yet and she was quite intrigued by that simple fact. Sure, Sarah wasn't one to parade around with new guys, but she expected to meet someone her friend was 'involved' with shortly after the fact, just because they were such good friends so she couldn't help but wonder if there was a reason behind this secrecy surrounding Alex... Either way, the mystery was likely to end tonight.
"Is he coming?" she insisted, anxiously.

Sarah smiled at her friend, "True I could always call up some random guy...you know how that goes." She gave her friend a wink and then laughed off her joke. "Alex should be here. I sent him a text. I told him where to meet. So he should be here before the night it over." Sarah was not one of those girls who expected her boyfriend to meet her every where she went. If he showed great. If not, then she knew they could do something another day. Sarah was not the jealous type, she was just that confident in Alex. It was a first actually.
"So how are you adjusting to life in LA....I bet it must be fun going to all those wonderful political campaigns...I know you love so much." Sarah was joking around with her friend. She knew her stance on her fathers politics. "My dad says your dad needs a brain transplant. That he is an idiot when it comes to politics." Sarah knew her friend would not take great offense to that.
"You are coming to my birthday party next week right? Not sure where I want it...my dad was saying something about, taking my mom and my sister out of town for the night so I could have a party with no supervision." The idea was thrilling.

He was coming, that was good news. Sarah wasn't the clingy type, Sadie knew that much, but she couldn't help it, she just wanted to get to know this mysterious boyfriend who got her best friend all monogamy and serious about relationships. Not that Sarah would go around hooking with random guys, but she wasn't the boyfriendy type either, at least not as long as Sadie had known her, which was about a year or so.
"Great, I wanna meet him" she stated, with a smile. The conversation shifted to her life back at DC and how different it was from California and Sadie would have picked a different subject if she had a say in it, most of time avoiding going there all together, but Bass' comment made her laugh. "Your dad's totally right" she agreed, promptly.
Kevin Greene was a conservative narrow-minded downright blind person and Sadie hated that about her father. It was tough sitting around, wondering if your brother would ever get back home alive when you're father's walking around the mansion, making statements about defending your country and the heroics behind such selfless act, how the soldiers were just doing their job and more of that BS. She might have granted him the right to make such stupid argument if one of their very own family member wasn't oversea right at that moment... How could he not see that his son could get killed because of those irrationally naive principals? How could he actually believe by butting into everybody else's business the US government would be doing just about anything but making this a safer world for all?
But Sadie wasn't about to start arguing any of her strong and pretty much unchangeable point of views with Sarah, who knew each and every one of them very well by now. "Yeah, of course I am" she felt slightly relieved by the subject change, even though the previous comment had been highly entertaining... for a minute at least. "Sounds fun, so you're possibly having an unsupervised party at your place? If you need help setting stuff up, you know who to call right?"
Sadie loved planning things. She'd take out blocks of papers and do huge lists, what to buy, where to buy, how much to spend in each item. And then she'd come up with possible decorations... Oh this would be fun. "Do you have a theme already? Because I was thinking... How do you feel about the 60s?"

Sarah smiled at her friend knowing she would jump at the chance to help and that's exactly what Sarah could use was help. She was not a good party planner. If it was up to her she would just invite people. Nothing to it, but a party did require some amount of planning. Sarah laugh as her friend talked about a theme. No Sarah had not thought about a theme, but the idea was nice. "The 1960"s. Way to kick us back to the dark ages....then again I was going to say we ould do the 1920's. Just imagine all the gangster and flopper outfits." Sarah said with a smile.
"I think the 60's could be interesting. A theme...I like the sound of that. You are hired to be my party planner." Sarah offered her friend. "It will be unsupervised. My dad says all girls need to be trusted and this is his way of trusting me." Sarah assured her friend. Sarah was quite happy her father trusted her so much. Her mom on the other hand was trying to make it so she could stay home, but Sarah knew her dad well enough to know here dad would win.
"As long as everything goes according to plan. My parents and little sister will be gone for the night. As long as I clean up the mess before they come home, the place is all mine. I heard about an exploding cake art a party the other night.I would not want to be on that clean up crew. All cakes will be checked before hand." Sarah said with a laugh.

Was there a reason behind the 60's themed party suggestion? Probably and Sarah might have seen through it when she counter suggested going with the 20's. Sadie knew she shouldn't use her friend's birthday party as an agenda to recruit new followers, but she couldn't help it, it was almost involuntary... "The 20's sounds amazing though" she finally said, agreeing with Sarah's wise suggestion. This was supposed to be about her best friend, and not her. The 20's would do just fine. "Costumes would look great" she added, in further agreement. The fact that it was unsupervised wasn't as huge deal to Sadie as it was to Sarah and understandably. Sadie lived alone, everything she did was unsupervised, but she could remember what it was like to have your father constantly looking over your shoulder 24/7. Not a pretty picture indeed. "Next week... That gives us a few days to get things started" OOC: I don't know how you guys are used to doing it, wrapping posts or BPing, so I'll leave it to the experienced Karen to decide what to do Left the post vague and short in case you wanted to end it and move on to Morning...

OOC: You can wrap it after a week or keep a post going...its up to the people in the thread....
Sarah smiled. "I can't wait to dress up like a flopper. Can you imagine me in something that scandalous. I think it will be fun and different." Sarah knew her friend well enough to have guessed a little behind her suggestion for the theme, but Sarah did not care. it was just Sadie and that's who Sadie was. Sarah loved her none the less. "All we will need decorations and invitations. which should not be hard to do. I hope." Sarah shrugged. Much to her dismay she was not use to throwing a party.
"Hmmm....maybe I should put together a few mixed CD's of music or hire a DJ? I am not sure of any good DJ's in town, maybe I cna audition some or something. I always thought a DJ was better then just a stereo." Sarah thought it added more to the party and gave it a mare live feel. "I should find some awesome music from that era. Make it authentic." Sarah was really getting into this idea now.
Sure she knew the consequences of a party and the mess it would leave, but she could hire someone to come clean. it was her dad's suggestion. Apparently he threw secret parties when his wife and kids were out of town. Sometimes Sarah wanted to know her parents business and sometimes it was best not to.

The party seemed to be coming along very well inside Sarah's imaginative mind and Sadie couldn't help but smile at that. Leave it to her friend to start planning a party while attending, surprisingly, another party. The details seemed to spill out of her mouth as she came up with them and Sadie had to admit that for someone not used to throwing parties, Sarah seemed to be pretty good at it. That alone was a relief to Sadie, because she didn't know the first thing about DJs and a selection process, food and invitation list... No, she liked doing the party theme and even that was biased, as previously noted.
"That's a great idea" she managed to squeeze in as Sarah mentioned the audition process, but couldn't get a whole lot further with the comment since her friend had moved on to the next item, which was making everything seem authentic.
"I could help you with that, do some digging and research costumes, decor, music and even food of the 20's, maybe?" True, Sadie knew nothing about those things when planning your typical party, but if the subject was making things as realistic as possible based on actual historic facts... Well that was a whole new world and one Sadie was quite familiar with. Leave it to Sadie to turn party planning into research...
"You should think who you'd like to invite, like say... Alex" Sadie hinted. The whole talk about Sarah's birthday party, although exciting, hadn't taken Sadie's mind of the possibility of meeting her friend's boyfriend. The negative aspect of such anxiety was that even though she didn't know this new boyfriend, she knew Sarah and pretty well, she might add, and therefore was certain her friend hadn't demanded and maybe not even requested his presence tonight, so in the end Sadie might be left with an even greater level of curiosity than the one she had when the evening started out...
