TGIF. Thank God its Friday. Thats what Keri thought as the last bell rang and she made a beeline for her locker. No homework. Which was a nice way to look at the weekend. Nothing but fun and late nights until next monday. Of course Keri was not thinking that far. She was thinking about this afternoon and what she would be doing on this lovely friday nights. Her favorite night of the week next to Saturday's.
Keri stopped by her locker to put all her books away so her bookbag was very light. Then she slammed it closed and walked out the halls not wanting to see them again until Monday morning. School really was like a job or a chore. If only someone could get paid to go to high school perhaps she would be more enthusiastic. Keri liked school for the most part, but on Friday'she liked to hear the last bell.
She walked down the steps, onlyto have her foot get caught on something and she began to tumble forward. Lucky for Keri either someone caught her or she fell into someone because she was saved from falling downt he concrete steps. Which could have been a bad fall. Keri didn'teven know who it was. "Thanks." She said not even sure if the person has saved or or had just been someone she fell into.

There was only one positive thing for Micah about being back in school and it was that he was finally a senior. It felt like he had been in school for more then his share of time, more then any regular person for that matter, and he was ready to be done with it. One more year, that was the phrase that would get him through the school year, motivate him to not blow off so many classes that he couldn't pass and say adios at graduation.
The final hour though had come upon him quickly today and about thirty minutes before the final bell was to ring he made up some excuse to be released from class for the nurses office and wandered the halls for a while instead. Glancing at his watch as the final bell rang he realized he still had to swing by his locker for his jacket before heading out of this hole for the weekend and freedom.
Passing the classroom he had not returned to he made sure to blend into the crowd before sprinting up the stairs just in time to see the girl coming down to the right of him start to tumble. It almost was like seeing it in slow motion as he watched her foot catch and her body lunge in his direction. Reaching out almost automatically he caught her by her shoulders and carefully helped her gather herself back into a standing position before double checking for any fallen belongings or wounds.
" Not a problem. Are you okay? " he asked the girl curiously as he got a good look at her. He hadn't seen her around but that wasn't saying much since when he was at school he was usually not to observant or caring of most anything. She was gorgeous of course, just his luck, and very well put together for that matter. " You didn't lose anything did you? " He asked double checking the stairs around them to make sure she didn't drop any books or a bag.

Keri gathered her wits about her and got her balance. When she was put together she she brushed some of her dark hair from her face and looked at the person who saved her from a bad tumble on concrete stairs. She looked at him and smiled. "I don't think so. All I had was my book bag and its safely secured on my shoulder." But she too looked down to make sure nothing had fallen. She she patted her pockets. "I am good. Embarrassed but good." She laughed.
"Thanks for saving me, that could have been messy." Keri had been thrown for a loop. Falling or almost falling kind of knocked your wits out for a moment. "I'm Keri, and the name of the man who helped me is...?" She asked. He was cute, that was for sure. Maybe a little flirting would not hurt. She didn't know him, but that was not surprising. Keri didn't know many people. She had been at Gould since her freshman year and now the school was merged with Silver so there was a ton of new faces for her. Although he could have gone to Gould and still been a new face it didn't matter.
"I was just so excited to get out of the school i guess I didn't look to see where I was walking. A bad habit of mine." She admitted. Keri smiled at him. Meeting new people was always fun. "Where you headed some where?" She asked him out of curiosity.

Micah watched as the young woman double checked the cement surrounding them for any missing articles and reassured him that her bag was still on her shoulder. He was glad he could catch her before it had turned into a big mess and she had possibly hurt herself but there was no need for her to be embarrassed. It was human nature for everyone to be a bit clumsy, he had for sure had several mishaps of the sort in his own life time.
" Micah." He gave her his name willingly as she asked for it and then listened as she explained her rush from the building. He couldn't blame her as they shared the same opinion on their required education, at least her clumsiness was the result of something worthy.
" I was headed back to my locker to grab a few things before heading home I guess. I really didn't have any specific direction or place in mind. Apparently I picked the right one though because I was in the right spot at the right time."

"I won't complain about that. I am gladyou were here to catch me. You are rather hot." Keri was not a beat around the bush kind of gal. She had no problem coming right out and telling a guy she thought they were cute, or handsome, or hot. A compliment was a compliment. She would give it even if it was not returned. It was not a lie. This Micah guy was hot. "I would not mind walking with you to your locker. Maybe we can hang out. Get to know each other better?" It sounded like a plan to her. it gave her something to do.
"Just lead the way. The new school is a maze so I hope you know wherre your locker is." She still wasn't sure where hers was and she had been in school a week. But there were so many hallways that it was hard to remember. That and she barely went to her locker to begin with. Keri felt no need to bring her books to class when the teacher was just going to repeat what the book had already said. So she tended to leave them in her locker.
'You from here?" She asked. Since technically she wasn't. Although she hadlived here for a long time, she had not been born in LA. But that was not the point. The point was Keri likes to know someones origins. Where they were born and where they grew up.

Micah ran his hand over his head and almost did a double take when she said he was hott. It wasn't like it was the first time he had heard it, but most people weren't so forward about it. Not anyone he had known so far anyways. That comment alone spoke volumes about what kind of a person Keri was. Very straight forward, probably honest, perhaps the kind that sometimes gets you in trouble type of honesty.
" Apparently I was the one who got lucky to catch you." he said with a coy grin as he held out his hand in the direction he was headed. " I would enjoy it if you came with. I have nothing else to do for the afternoon so spending it getting to know you sounds like a much better idea then anything else I could have found."
They reached his locker and he put in the combination it opening the banged up door to an almost empty space. He had a few books but otherwise he kept nothing in it. No stickers, no mirror, not cute little notes. He didn't intend on spending that much time at his locker or school so there was no use in making his locker personal. Grabbing his coat and keys from inside he slammed the door again and turned back to her as she asked him where he was from.
" I was born in San Francisco. Came here freshman year." he told her as they again followed the walkways of the high school headed towards the parking lot. " Did you have something in mind you would like to do for the evening before I return your question and ask where you are from?" he asked stopping just before the first row of cars. He wasn't sure if she drove or what the plans were so he didn't want to just walk to his car and leave her in the dust or anything.

"Sounds like I just found something very interesting to do this evening." Keri smiled as she followed Micah to his locker. She looked inside. "Interesting. Most people have their lockers decorated. Usually its creepy, but not yours. Yours is plain." She said softly. "Sounds like me. I don't stop by my locker long enough to put anything up. I do not spend to much time worrying about my books. Besides lockers smell." She laughed.
Keri listened when he talked about where he was from. "I am from Toranto. Moved here not too long ago. Been in school here since freshman year thought. My dad is a civil lawyer and he realized more people get sued in LA then anywhere else." She said. "Now as for where I want to go...I don't know, some where not too loud, but with food. Maybe music, but music we can still hear each other over." Hence when she said the quiet.
"Oh I know do you like Mexican food, or pizza." She could take him to either place she was thinking. Both were next door to each other. They were restaurants where they had patio seating by the beach. Music inside, but sort of quiet outside. it was fun, friendly. Had a few TVs and it would be fun probably. Then they could walk along the beach. Sounded good to Keri. "Its by the beach."

The more this girl talked the more they seemed to have in common. He was glad that the fact he didn't care for school didn't put her off. Alot of girls seemed to be all about the whole pay attention in class graduate have a life scenario. It wasn't that he wasn't going to graduate or anything he just didn't put that much effort into it, and as for the rest of his life. That would come with time.
" Mexican sounds good." Micah told her convinced he had more then his fair share of pizza lately. It was their go to meal at home after a long day on the site. Her father though sounded like a smart man, greedy, but smart. Canada seemed like kind of a pacifist type community to him. You didn't really hear about a lot of fights or violence in Canada. LA though, LA had gangs, and purely evil people. Lawyers were a dime a dozen.
" You want me to drive, do you want to drive? " he asked her curiously. " I can follow you. It doesn't really matter. Whatever you think will work better. " he wasn't sure what side of town she lived on so it may be easier for her to just drive as well instead of having to be brought back to the school to pick up one of their cars.

"I tell you what. Why don't you pick me up at my house. I can take my car there and quickly change. I mean if we are going to go out, I would like to wear something a little different." Mainly she wanted to look at least alittle cuter. It was friday night so she hoped they could spend more then just dinner together. She didn't care where it wold lead, it was just a good idea.
"Perhaps together we can come up with an idea after dinner." She thought. "I have lived here long enough to know there is a little more to do around this town then just eat." She smirked. Keri was enjoying this guy more and more. He was rather interesting and they has a similar interest of not wanting to be on school grounds longer then normal. For Keri that was a good enough reason to go to dinner.
"So what are you into? Sports? Clubs? Poetry?" Keri knew there were clubs other then the ones in school. She was not a part of any clubs in school. In fact she was a part of a club outside of school, but that was another story that she would tell only if asked about. She was not particulary going to hide anything, but she didn't see the point i nrevealing anything without being asked. She found it more mysterious that way.
