Day two in hell.
At least he knew - more or less - where his first lesson was held. Hard not to given the fact that Ryu had toured the bulk of the school yesterday searching for room C25: junior year art class. That said, so what if he was late? He could always pull out the old 'I'm new to school, sensei, and couldn't find the room'. Ryu knew he could play that joker for a good week to come... and for every lesson.
Finding his assigned locker was a bit less easy but he finally managed thanks to him demanding an answer from a hapless freshman who had been only too happy to oblige... and make a very hasty escape. Ryu almost smiled to himself as he watched the younger boy bolt for safety.
He pushed onwards, head down and a surly scowl on his face. He had no choice but to be here... That didn't mean he was going to enjoy it.
Ryu came to a standstill when he reached the locker with the number he'd been given and he glared at the person standing in his way. A useless and pointless exercise as they had their back towards him. He folded his arms and huffed a breath of annoyance. "Take your time," he muttered... and loudly enough for the obstacle to hear.

Delia wasn't sure if she liked it here or not. Sure, she could be more anonymous in this new school...she could tell people whatever she wanted and there was no way they'd find out about her past and why she was really here. There was no way they'd ever know about her dad being sent to prison. Sure, it had made the news but it wasn't such a huge news scandal. Maybe it made the news up here, but it had mostly been a San Diego thing. Plus, there had never been any mention of her in the news stories so there was no way anyone would ever make the connection that the man busted for the gambling ring in a city two hours away was her father.
To the few people who asked she'd said that her dad was in business...he was working in France for a year or two and she couldn't go with him because she didn't speak French and the school systems were different. It was a completely plausible excuse for why she was now living with her cousins...
As she entered the school building, her cell went off. She knew the number already: it was her dad calling from jail. Before she could even talk to him she had to agree to accept collect call charges and then she knew she'd only be able to speak to him for minutes anyway. Which she did, walking down the hall she could speak somewhat freely. There was the hustle and bustle around her of her peers going to their lockers, getting ready for classes to start, and meeting up with their friends. No one was paying attention to her.
She spoke to her father for almost 10 minutes before he had to go. She paused in the hallway, letting out a small sigh as she went to put her phone away, which was when she heard the voice behind her, the sarcastic drawl, informing her to take her time.
She whipped around to face Mr. Sarcastic, the voice had been distinctly male. She pressed her lips together and took in his expression for a moment. She'd just talked to her father in prison and she wasn't in the mood to deal with rude people. She plastered on a smile, "Thanks, I will," she said her tone masked in a combination of faux sweetness and sarcasm as she spun back around intent on taking her good old time. Okay...so it was only going to take a second to put her phone away...she quickly started texting a message to her cousin, just to waste time. After all, moving now let this guy win and well, Delia needed a win, no matter how petty.

Ryu scowled at the girl's back. Ok, so she was pretty and that fact alone saved her from his most scathing response but still! He gritted his teeth together and refrained from grabbing her shoulder and pushing her aside. He'd probably end up in front f the school head teacher... principle... whatever they were called here... And on his second day? His parents would shit bricks.
Was that the right use of the phrase? Did it matter??
He continued to scowl...
"Kuso!" Ryu exclaimed when a further twenty seconds elapsed. "I need to use my locker! Can't you text your girlfriend from across the hall?"
Why did she have to be so pretty?

The boy said some word in some language she didn't recognize. It was some sort of Asian but truth be told, Delia didn't know enough about any of the Asian cultures to distinguish them from each other. Had it been Spanish of some kind she probably would have understood it better, being part Latina herself. But Asian...not so much. He then continued on about needing to go to his locker, turning quickly from being rude to being whiny. Delia couldn't help but smirk, glad that she was facing away from him.
Her long dark hair was down and pushed behind her shoulders so it cascaded down her back and she was dressed simply and casually in a pair of skinny jeans, a white jersey knit tank and a gray eyelet cardigan. She really wasn't a mean person. She'd always had had a bit of an attitude which had mostly come from having to lie about her dad. She could remember one too many times answering the door and making up excuses to scary debt collectors (the unofficial mobster kind) and making up excuses for him while he hid somewhere in the house. They didn't dare touch her...well not when she was younger. As she grew older and pretty they'd make comments, try and push her hair behind her ear or caress her arm. It had only made her harder. She could be as mean and harsh as she wanted to be without batting an eyelash, but it didn't mean she didn't feel bad about it...especially when the person didn't really deserve her wrath.
She let out a small sigh and turned on the tiny heel of her metallic ballet flat to face him again. "In America we say things like 'Please, do you mind moving over, I really need to get to my locker'," she told him, still a hint of sarcasm in her voice although her tone had softened. "It's really not so hard. Be nice and people will gladly move out of your way," she said, tilting her head slightly to the side and giving him a look, wondering if he'd bother to apologize or just push past her. It was a small battle...a meaningless one really, but for some reason Delia felt like teaching this kid a lesson. She, herself, couldn't figure out what her own motives were, but for some reason she still stood there, facing him now, but still refusing to move.

Ryu's eyes narrowed as the girl turned to face him and his scowl darkened even more when she spoke. "As you can see, I am not American," he hissed. "Therefore I am not governed by your silly politeness." He couldn't really shove her out of his way though and his scowl impossibly darkened even more. "I have an excuse for when I am late to my next class... Do you?" In other words, he had as long as this took... Problem was his patience wouldn't take it for any great length of time.
Shove or ask nicely? Both seemed out of the question!
Ryu braced himself to do... which...? He opened his mouth and at the same time lifted one hand... just as another couple of boys barrelled into his back. Ryu was pushed off balance and directly towards the girl. The hand ended up palm down on a very soft part of her body and he yelped in shock, jerking back as if burnt. "Bakayarou!" he shouted after the boys before turning back to face the girl, a wash of colour in his cheeks. "Gomen," he apologised. "That hadn't been my intention." He glanced down at the part of her he'd unintentionally groped in pretty obvious mortification.

Delia was absolutely dumbfounded by him. He went from angry to whiney to angry again, the transformations were seamless. She stood there with her arms crossed just looking at him as he yelled at her about not being American so not having to follow the same rules.
She tilted her head slightly to the side, "Really?" she asked, "What country are we in right now? Cause the last I checked California was in the US so you really might want to adapt but its really nice to know that if I ever go to wherever you're from I can walk around being rude to everyone since that's the custom," she snapped at him, her tone oozed sarcasm. Part of her wondered if he'd pick that up. She wasn't sure how sarcasm worked in other countries if it was the same of not.
"Oh yeah, I have an excuse too," she said. That was a lie but she didn't care. She knew she wouldn't be late. She just didn't feel like giving him the satisfaction. Plus, Delia was a good liar, she'd learned from the best after all.
It was just then that some guys came barreling into him knocking him over onto her! His hand was on her boob! Oh yes! That was his hand definitely on her boob! But before she could get angry, he started apologizing profusely. Well, at least she thought it was an apology. She didn't understand his words but they sounded apologetic and he confirmed it with telling her that that hadn't been his intention.
She looked at him, staring at her chest now as if trying to figure out how that just happened. She pulled at her cardigan and recrossed her arms to sort of cover up. She then laughed. "Wow...that just happened," she commented. "Well, that clearly wasn't your fault," she said, he was still looking at her chest, "but try it again and you're dead, okay?" she said, her attitude back in full force. Maybe she was being mean giving this guy a hard time. He was clearly relatively new to the country or maybe that was his thing, playing the part of new kid to get away at stuff. His apology had seemed genuine but who knew. Either way, Delia was still making up her mind about him and trying to figure him out.

Her breast had been nice. Warm. Soft. Ryu tore his focus away from the softness and to the girl herself. He scowled anew... Her arrogance was still very much evident. "You can onmly dream that I would do that willingly," he hissed. Problem was all he could think about was to do it again!
"So if you won't move from my locker maybe you will let me ask nicely - and then meet me for lunch." If she did then that was great. If not...? the so be it!
(apols its short but just in from work and perishingly cold >.<)

Delia looked at him, her expression didn't falter even if inside she did a little. Did he really just ask her out? Man, the kid had balls, she'd give him that. But if that's all it was, why was she temped to accept? He intrigued her. That must be it. He could be extremely rude but still had the guts to ask her out, asking all confident as if he knew she'd accept. That made her want to say no. Oh...why was she playing these games?
She pressed her lips together. "Well, since you asked somewhat nicely," she said, although she couldn't help rolling her eyes a bit. Her tone was still dry, laced with sarcasm, that much hadn't changed.
She didn't mention lunch one way or another. Not until he started past her. That's when her lips turned into a small little smirk, "And about lunch, let me know where you'll be. I'm not saying I'll show up...but you never know," she said, still smirking.
OOC: quite alright! I hate the cold so I totally understand!

Any sarcasm was lost in translation although Ryu couldn’t miss the eye rolling thing. He shot her a scowl as he leaned past... hesitating only when she spoke once more. He hadn’t expected her to agree to meet him later. He shot her a look of surprise. “I shall be outside and beneath that large tree to the left of the main gate,” he told her. “Having tried the school food yesterday I thought it safer to bring something in myself.” Ryu was still adjusting to the fact that the girl had agreed to meet. Perhaps he’d misread her earlier comments and she hadn’t been as confrontational as he’d believed? Then again, Ryu knew his own snarled comments hadn’t exactly been friendly. Maybe at lunch they could try again... and without the locker issue coming between them! “I shall be there at lunch time... If you make it then that’s good. If not...” He lifted his shoulders in a shrug. “... then I am sure I will see you in my way here again some other time!” (OOC started a lunch thread in case! but don't feel obliged! )

"Yeah sure," Delia said vaguely, honestly not sure if she'd show up or not. She hadn't really made any friends at her new school yet but then again she hadn't really tried. At least this guy was weird. She liked weird it kept things interesting.
He walked off and so did she, continuing on her way. After all, she'd been ready to move on when he'd first approached, she'd just been giving him a hard time. Oh well, she thought with a shrug as she headed toward her first period class. She'd figure out the lunch thing later.
Wrapped.
