A playdate with a sandbox (Alex tag Any)

For Alex summer had been interesting. She and Ashley were doing great. She had actually seen his parents. That had been very interesting. She and Ashley were taking their relationship further and deeper then they had before. Well sort of. It was different this time. Having a kid as a teen and being a teen mom, was different. It made one feel and have to act like a grown up, which was not always easy or fun, but Alex was working on it. She got to spend time with Kai and Ashley as much as she wanted. Alex did still work and live with her Aunt. It was official, and she had been disowned by her father. No shock there.

Alex was happy. So very happy. She was currently down by the park watching Kai play as she sipped tea. Alex could not handle the taste of soda. She did not get how American's could drink something that made a hiss sound when you opened it. It made her think of a snake or something. Ewww. Alex was no fan of snakes. Not even fake ones. Of course Kai had a fake snake, but no way he played with it near Alex.

Alex was smiling as she watched Kai dumping sand on his feet. Oh it was going to be fun brushing him off later. She still had sand in his car seat. That boy knew how to make a mess, but it was adorable. She pulled out her camera phone and snapped a picture. Alex had finally gotten the hang of this whole technology thing. She had a cell phone that worked. Well one she didn't feel like throwing against the wall anyway. Alex briefly looked around the park for someone she knew, she was a bit bored and would love to have someone to talk to. She loved her son, and loved watching him play but still a good conversation while at the park would be nice.

Ashley smiled as he walked into Alex's favourite park, he knew where the girl in question would be and what was more he knew that a certain baby boy would be there as well. His summer had been amazing, the fact that his baby boy was with his mother where he should be made him happy. The fact that said girl was in his arms well that was definitely a plus.

Ashley climbed over the small fence into the playground ducking behind a tree when Alex looked his way, damn girl has the sixth sense. He made his way over to them with a smile, "Leave some of the sand in the box you goof." Ashley sad to Kai who threw him a smile. "Hello beautiful, two of the most important people in my life sitting in the same park I happen to be in, what are the chances of that happening." Ashley said as he steppd past Alex kneeling next to the box. "What are you trying to do mister? Besides making a mess because you passed that class with flying colours." Ashley said as he ran his hand through the boys hair. "You know what this means right, it means that you have a bath." Ashley said to him. "And because it was your mom that let you get in this mess in the first place I think that your momma should be punished to." Ashley said solemnly.

Ashley picked him up before placing him over his shoulder then spinning him around laughter erupting from the pair of them.

"Your next missy." Ashley said playfully.

Alex smiled as Ashley approached. "A coincidence indeed. One would think you are following me. I have a boyfriend you know. A very handsome one." Alex joked. She laughed playfully at her joke as Ashley commented on Kai in the sandbox. She looked back at Kai, "Where were you ten minutes ago when he started dumping the sand outside the box." Kai just laughed as he did it again. "I do believe tis your turn for the bath. I cleaned him up after you left him play in shaving cream yesterday." Alex pointed out. She laughed as she watched Ashley pick Kai up and spin him around.

"You would not dare. I am high society daughter, you cannot spin me around." Alex said between laughs. She tried to run off, but Ashley had long arms and she did not get far before he pulled her back to him. "You bloody men and your strength." She said playfully. "Sometimes I think you just enjoy being able to hold me close."

Alex truly didn't think she would be here right now, with Ashley. "He will be three soon." She commented. "Can you believe how much he has grown." Alex commented as she held onto Ashley. She was truly happy. Ashley had forgiven her, Kai called her mum. It was great. "Have your parents forgiven me yet?" That was the only hitch in the plan.

Ashley smiled, "Yeah three, you mister are growing up way to fast, your under orders to stop that right now." Ashley said playfully causing Kai to giggle. "I don't agree with the growing older or the high school or shaving... not for at least fifty years. Though it will become a lot easier when you can dress yourself." Ashley said smiling as he held Alex in his arms.

"Forgiven you probably not entirely, willing to give you another chance for sure... just remember my brother is likely to kill you if you mess up again. He has also threatened to kill your father should he try any of his crap again." Ashley said to her. "They aren't against you any more put it that way." Ashley told her. "They won't get in the way, as they know we are trying to make this work for Kai's sake. That and they know it really isn't their job to dictate what I do with the mother of my child. Besides dictating the use of condoms." Ashley said Kai looked strangely at him. "When your much older just before you join the monastary." Ashley told him making him scowl. "Your get frown lines." Ashley said to him.

"How has your day been? I came down here because I was bored out of my mind without Kai in the house. Mom cooking god only knows what for dinner." Ashley said to her. "Her food is good though so whatever she cooks is all good." Ashley said to her.

"I was thinking that tomorrow we could go check out the new steak house." Ashley said to Alex. "Steak for us and fish fingers or something kiddy for Kai." Ashley added.

Alex chuckled, "It would have been more appreciated had you said that to him as he was growing in my stomach. He was a big boy when he was born." Alex reminded Ashley. She had a feeling Kai would be tall like his dad. he had long legs already. Alex looked up at Ashley when he spoken about Kai not doing anything for fifty years. "He already picks out his own trousers. Thats a beginning I believe." Alex said with another chuckle. She watched Kai play throwing sand.

Alex blushed at the mention of condoms. "Well I do not believe they should worry so much about other children. I am quite content focusing solely on Kai for the time being. That and I am on the pill so tell your parents we will be doubly safe." She said with a tiny smirk. No, Alex was not ready for another child. Kai was already a pleasant handful. "So long as you know I shall not be leaving anytime soon. My father officially how do you say...cut me off." Alex said her English accent really think.

"I highly doubt we have to worry about him. My brothers may be another story." Alex said with a sheepish grin. Although if she remembered correctly her brothers never had a problem with Ashely if anything Anthony had been on their side from the beginning. "They are coming for a visit." She told Ashely. "I wish to say i knew the reason, but I do not. " Alex commented. "However, I do not believe we have anything to worry about where they are concerned. But tell your brother he is free to have at my father."

Ashley smiled, "Picking clothes and putting them on two different things. No sense of balance yet, he still thinks his bum is for falling on." Ashley said to her with a grin. "I guess he needs to be hard to fall on that so often." Ashley told Alex with a smile. "The little man was a sack of potatoes or close to it when he was born." Ashley admitted. "You mister were a bruiser for sure but at least you grew out of that in a hurry." Ashley said more talking to himself than anything else.

"Okay now I know to skip town when they arrive, your family does not like me." Ashley said to her as he went and sat down next to Kai. "Okay buster this stuff needs to go back in the pit, would you like for me to bury you to the neck in it." Ashley asked him Kai shook his head. "He never takes me up on that when I ask him, I wonder why." he said to her with a grin. "How about the next time we're at the beach we bury your mom?" he asked the boy nodded. "Your mom might fight us though, so I think we better ply her with ice cream make sure your mom can't resist us." Ashley said smiling.

"I'm sure your brothers will be fine, I'll still be wearing armour though." he said to her.

"Is that why he likes to fall on his bottom. I thought it was because he preferred to crawl instead of walk." Alex laughed. Kai laughed too as if he understood. Alex gave Ashley a mock glare. "I remember clearly. I was the one in labor for almost a day with him. When I saw him I was sure the doctor was mistaken. i did not think he could have come from me. I believe those are your genes." She said playfully as she poked Ashley in the stomach. "Next child we have will not be so big you understand me." Of course that was way off too so it didn't matter.

"I will not be buried. It will take more then the promise of something sweet to get me to lay down int eh sand while you both shovel sand on me. I prefer to have Kai and I bury you. I think you would look rather handsome buried in the sand." Alex joked. "No need to skip town. Tis only my brother Colin and Anthony. They are not so bad. Believe me. Thank god they do not take after my father." Alex still had no contact with her dad. Not since he cut her off.

"Armour is very appropriate. They might approve of you, but like your family...they are still a bit in the as you call it...iffy side when it comes to their teenage sister being a mother. I swear you bloody American's have the weirdest words...iffy. Is that even a word." Well she had heard a few people say it. it meant being in the middle and on the fence supposedly.

Ashley laughed, "Okay miss but you should know that I have a super hero over here, who thinks he is more than enough to bury you." Ashley said scooping up Kai and spinning them both around Kai laughing his head of. "Who's my very own super man little man." Ashley said to him placing the boy back on the ground where he fell on his butt thought about it then ran to his mom Ashley grinned.

Ashley grinned, "Oh with names like Colin and Anthony I am sure that they are true bruisers, who know how to fight like English gentlemen i.e flintlocks at dawn and marques of queensbury rules... all stiff upper lipped but probably not on the same scale as your dad mind." Ashley said to her. "I'm sure meeting them will be great, it will be the first time that they meet Kai and he is a pretty good ice breaker." Ashley said to her. "But I have the bullet proof armour on order should it be needed anyway." he added. "As for this little man a superman outfit should just do the job." Ashley said.

"So what was the plan besides me giving Kai a bath?" Ashley asked him.

Alex picked Kai up and hugged him close,"Any more spinning and you will be cleaning up more then sand." She said playfully to Ashley. Kai laid his head on his mothers shoulder. "OH please Ashley, they do not duel. You must be mad. If my brothers want to deal with you, they will have others take care of it. No Bridgerton get's their hands dirty. You know that." Alex chuckled and winked to show she was kidding. "You have nothing to worry about from them. My father is simply an evil bloody man who wishes to control everyone. But he no longer controls me." She assured her boyfriend.

"You know just you agreeing to meet them, makes me love you even more then I already do you. You are making it very hard to resist you." She leaned up and kissed his lips as she continued to hold Kai and rubbing his back. "No plans. I was just planning to retuen him dirty. Payback for when I picked him up from you and he had some stickiness all over his hands and face." She joked. "We could give him a bath together?" Alex suggested.
