Takumi pulled his jacket out of his locker and slipped it on, thrusting his hands deep into its warm pockets. Winter was far from with them as yet and already he was starting to suffer. To be blunt, Yoshino Takumi despised the cold weather. Summer already seemed so long ago!
He grabbed his ‘bento’ and headed outside. Even taking the temperature into account he didn’t relish the thought of eating his lunch in the cafeteria. Memories of the shootings were still far too vivid. Perhaps when snow was falling he’d venture inside. Until then... no, he’d seek a place to eat outside in the school grounds. If he was lucky he might even see Izzy! Or, at least, someone he knew.
He wandered out of the main entrance and circled the quadrangle, opting for the grassy area that always seemed the more popular dining area. So far, though, he’d been unable to spot a familiar face. So many new students and he still had yet to encounter a single one of them!
He found a vacant bench set against one of the boundary walls and he dropped down, drawing his feet up so as to sit with his legs crossed. That way he might just find a touch more warmth.
He could hope!
Takumi opened his bento and peered inside.
“Sugoi!” he breathed. Omelette and his favourite dorayaki pancakes.
Things were already starting to look up!

Izzy had spent the morning apologizing for hitting someone with a locker. Not the best start to the day for the guy, and she felt bad for Randall. Now it was lunch time and Izzy figured sitting outside was much safer then being inside where she could be a potential danger. When Izzy had other things on her mind, she could be down right dangerous. She had managed to knock in and step on Taki's toes a few times. So he could vouch for it.
However, this time Izzy also had a destination in mind. She headed outside in hopes of finding Taki. She knew how he felt about the cafeteria since the shooting. So the first place she looked was outside. Izzy headed outside and almost actually gave up until she spotted him on a bench in a jacket. Why was that not surprising to her.
Izzy smiled as she walked over, "You make it awfully hard for someone to sneak up on you." She smirked as she sat next to him. "I was hoping to scare you." Her voice held a playful tone. She would never willingly scare someone. But teasing never hurt either. Izzy scooted close, "What are you eating?" She looked into his container, at something that she did not recognize. "And i thought I knew everything your mother cooks for you." She joked.

Takumi scooped up the small bento-sized chopsticks and attacked the omelette with eager anticipation. It was as good as he’d expected. Better even! Alongside it were some lightly steamed vegetables: carrots, bok choi and some of those tiny little sweetcorn cobs that can be eaten whole. A small container of dipping sauce had also been slipped into the lunch box. His okaasan thought of everything!
He settled more comfortably and placed the box on his lap, legs still crossed and lifted from the floor. Takumi flicked up the collar of his jacket... and started to eat...
He glanced up when he heard a very familiar voice and a bright smile lit his face. “Izzy!” he exclaimed in pleasure. “I am so happy to see you! But why would you want to scare me? Have I done something to upset you?” Izzy simply grinned and Takumi laughed as well. He knew she’d been teasing him. He shuffled sideways slightly to give Izzy more space and he held the lunch box over to show her what it contained.
He gestured towards the omelette. “Tamagoyaki,” he told her. “And that is shabu shabu,” he added, tapping the small container. “Aah... dipping sauce with sesame seeds with mirin and dashi in it as well. And those are dorayaki. Pancakes. You would like to share?” Anything he had he would willingly give to Izzy!

"And all I have is two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, cookies, and grapes." She said as she looked through her brown bag. "Tomorrow its Korean food for both of us." She said smiling. "I would love to share." She said opening her mouth so he could give her a bite. Izzy chewed. "Is the egg suppose to be a little sweet?" Perhaps it was just her taste buds being off. She swallowed. "Really good." She commented. "You mom needs to make this more often." And that was just the egg thingy he pointed to. Don't even ask Izzy to pronounce the name.
She then opened her mouth to try the pancakes and chewed on that before swallowing. "I like it. You never should have offered to share, cause now I might eat it all. But you can have my boring lunch." She joked. She would never eat the whole thing of course, but she would be playful about it. "Oh watch. I have been practicing." Izzy took the chopsticks and successfully picked up some of the egg thing and was able to get it into Taki's mouth without dropping it. "See, You are a really good teacher." She said smiling.
"Oh you have a little egg right there." Izzy leaned forward pressing her lips to Taki's in a loving, intense kiss. The kiss lasted until the need for oxygen was very overwhelming for both the teens. "Your lips taste good." Izzy murmured with a smile as she pulled out a grape to eat. "You will never guess what I did this morning. i hit a kid with my locker." She told him. "So embarrassing. I can barely think straight. i was up late again dealing with my brother."

“Hai... the omelette is a bit sweet. Not much, though. It is cooked in coconut oil and I think that is what you can taste.” Takumi was happy that Izzy liked both the omelette and the pancakes, though. He laughed when she managed to scoop up some of the egg mixture with the chopsticks and while the morsel teetered slightly she managed to transfer it into Takumi’s mouth. “Soon you will be expert,” he stated with a beaming smile... and he was even more happy when Izzy moved in to kiss him. “Perhaps I should place some more omelette on my face!” he commented with a wink.
He took a grape for himself and listened to Izzy’s tale from earlier that morning. His forehead creased with confusion as he tried to picture the scene.
“Izzy-chan,” he said when she’d finished her story. “What you say isn’t possible.”
Izzy laughed. “It happened, Taki. Honestly!”
His frown deepened. “You hit a boy with your locker?” She nodded and Takumi gently squeezed Izzy’s upper arm to feel her muscles. “You are not strong enough to pick up your locker, let alone swing it to hit a boy!” He had to have misunderstood her... hadn’t he? Or was Izzy Chen some masked superhero... heroine... and he had yet to find that out!

"I would kissyou even with out the omlette, but that would make it much more tempting." She said softly. Izzy took another bite of the omlette before hanidn the chosticks back over. Izzy started laughing uncontrolably when Taki touched her arm thinking she actually picked up a locker and threw it at Randall. Oh that was precious. Instead of telling him why she was laughing Izzy leaned in o give Taki a very passionate kiss.
When she pulled back she ran her fingers through his hair. "YOu are really cute you know that. And so innocent. No wonder I like you a lot...I didn't pick up a locker. I opened my locker door and it hit Randall in the face." She explained. "So no, I am not super woman, but I did opened the door and swing it open which cause it to hit him." She told him. "I felt really bad." She admitted. "But he seems like he is okay. Which I am very thankful for."
Izzy leaned against Taki as she ate another grape,"But if I could pick up a locker then that means I could protect you." She said smiling as she looked up at himand fed him a grape. "So I was thinking this weekend. Maybe we couldmake an excurison to the lighthouse. You know you have been wanting to go bck. See if we can see the woman again."

Takumi was confused when Izzy began to laugh but h wasn't about to complain when she punctuated her amusement with a heady kiss! A kiss he was more than happy to return... and with interest! Luckily none of the teaching staff were close by as the pair would have found themselves on the end of a rebuke for their efforts!
"Cute? As in kawaii?" He grinned, liking it when Izzy called him that. who wouldn't? So she hadn't picked up her locker. Takumi knew he must have misunderstood her but he still felt a wash of relief. This Randall boy must have seiously pissed Izzy off for her to hit him in his face with her locker's door!
"I, too, am glad he is ok..." Takumi replied, not daring to ask what he'd said - done? - to upset her to cause her to react in that manner. He'd made enough of a fool out of himself already!
"You would protect me, huh?" he repeated back with a bright smile and he purposefully nipped her index finger when she fed him another grape. Not hard but just playfully.
"I'd love that, Izzy!" enthused Takumi when she suggested a return to the lighthouse. "The lower window is still wedged open... I checked it only the other day just in case Elena wanted to search for spirits so I know we can easily get inside. Perhaps we could take a sleeping bag and stay the night?" Would he dare do that? Not only would that mean facing any ghostly appartitions but also the risk of discovery increased. Perhaps that even added to the excitement!
"A shame that Jett cannot also come," he added in a morose tone. He knew all too well how hard this all was on Izzy. Jett, too, of course, but Takumi had very different feelings for Izzy to those he had for her brother!

"I will start by protecting you this weekend. After all someone has to keep that female ghost we saw from getting to you. She just might make you join her." Izzy said chuckling. "A sleeping bag..." The idea was tempting. She remembered the woods. They had gone pretty far, but not all the way. Not that Izzy was planning on doing that in a haunted house, but being alone with Taki, well lets just say it was getting harder for her not to want to give in. Perhaps she was ready, or soon would be. He had been so patient.
"I like the sound of that. I can bring snacks, and drinks. You supply the sleeping bags. Maybe we can do this Friday night?" She had no plans. "I know Jett would enjoy a good ghost hunt, but...obviously he can't join us." Izzy said referring to him and his wheelchair. "But I have a feeling you and I will be just fine. Unless you are afraid of being alone with me?" Izzy was not being serious. She was kidding around of course.
This weekend was looking to be exciting. Of course she may not be able to sleep cause who knew what she would see at the lighthouse. Last time she and Taki had an interesting experience upstairs with the ghost. Izzy still thought that was part of her imagination. Or so she hoped, but it had happened. "How are things going at home? I haven't been over in a while."

Takumi nodded in exctement. The rest of the week was going to drag even more than a normal chool one did! How was he supposed to concentrate on his classes with the prospect of their adventure dominating his every thought? "I can't wait!" he declared and he grasped Izzy's hand between the both of his. Already he was planning the evening. Sleeping bags, torches, camera (just in case they saw something worth snapping!) "Are we able to use your car?" he asked. "We will struggle to carry it all on my Vespa or I can take the sleeing bags up first and then we can fit on my scooter." He didn't mind making the extra trip. In his eyes it would be very much worth it!
"Everyone is well at home," Takumi replied. "Although Mayuki has a cold. She is sniffing and sneezing all over the place. She was kept from school because of it but I Shall not catch it from her. I never fall ill," he reassured his girlfriend.
"If you don't mind her being that way I would love for you to come over one evening after school. I have a new movie that you might like. Its not as frightening as Ringu... I promise! Perhaps you could even stay the night?" he added before flushing a deep shade of scarlet. "We have a g..g..guest room," he quickly added, stammering slightly.

Izzy covered one of his hands with her free hand, "Ofcourse we can use my car. You can even drive. If you want to? Might as well learn to drive a car sooner or later right. You are living here now." She commented. He would always have the vespa, but what if he ever needed to borrow her car. If he learned to drive then he could borrow it so much easier. "I can be at your place at say 8pm, and we can load up the car." She suggested. "I will get two collers one for drinks and another for snacks. I know you don't like soda, so any other drinks you want me to bring?" She asked.
"You never fall ill. Is that so? And what magical potion do you have that makes this happen? Cause you could make a fortune off it. Everytime Jett gets sick, I always get sick. So you are very lucky to have such a good immune system. I'm jealous." Izzy said jokingly. Well she was jealous he never got sick, but she wasn't really jealous. She just thought it was adorable. Taki kept getting cuter and cuter and it didn't stop Izzy from falling harder and harder for the boy.
Izzy's cheeks flushed equally as pink when Taki suggested she spend the night. She had to take a deep breath at the anticipation of spending the night. Its not like she had a parent to ask for permission and knowing Jett he would encourage her to do so. izzy eyed Taki and brushed her fingers over his cheek. A smile came to her lips. "I would love to spend the night with you. As long as your parents don't mind, and as long as they don't mind us in the same room. I trust you since we did sleep together on prom night." By that she meant they literally slept in the same bed.
Of course this was not prom and Izzy was much more secure in her relationship with Taki, so perhaps sleeping in the same room may not be a good idea, or perhaps it would be. "How about Thursday night?" That was tomorrow. They already had Friday night planned.
