So summer had been wow. She had gone with Grayson on a vacation to Disney world. Where his little sister kept asking her to speak, cause she had never heard an Australian accent before. Never mind that Jamie knew his little sister and had spoken to her, but perhaps she hadn't noticed. Jamie's Aussie accent was hard to miss. Either way the trip had been fun. Grayson's dad was great. Then there was the kiss. Grayson and Jamie had kissed one afternoon when no one was in the hotel room. Both had been high of course. Jamie had no problem blaming the weed.
Grayson was her buddy and she knew they would be best friend no matter what. Some hot, mind blowing kiss would not change it. However, Jamie was also only a junior and didn't want the kiss to lead to anything serious. Grayson had the same thoughts. So that was that and it was all good. Which was surprising and this is how she knew they were meant to be best friends.
Jamie showed up to school late. Or so she thought, she was actually early. Damn it. She didn't have anything on her either. Jamie liked to smoke a little before class. Which might be stupid, but it helped mellow her out a little. Besides it made the classes seem to go by a bit faster and some of the teachers were really funny. But since she was unprepared she decided might as well just sit down on the steps of the school and wait for the bell. She was not about to walk inside until she had too.

Stumbling out of bed, Gray wasn't sure if he wanted to go to school. Only the second day and already the boredom is kicking in. Damn. After the first day's odd events, Gray was doubly sure that he didn't want to go to school but Daisy was already poking him to wake up to walk her to school. She was way too perky too early in the morning but Gray trudged into his bathroom to wake himself up with a cold, cold shower.
His dad was still in bed when Gray went downstairs for breakfast, which was a little worrying but a look from his mother told him not to investigate so he didn't. Grabbing a bagel and a banana, him and Daisy set off to her middle school which was thankfully just ten minutes away from home and on the way to the bus stop. Taking the first bus that came by, Gray slept on the bus only to be woken up by the bus driver who told him that the bus was at its last stop.
Not knowing where he was, he tried looking for a familiar landmark but he found none. "Damn it." What a way to start a day. He decided to get the next bus out and thankfully he finally found the school and hopped off the bus.
Spotting Jamie at the school steps, Gray visibly lit up and his footsteps found a bounce and a smile made its way on to his face. Memories of summer flooded his brain as he replayed that kiss over and over again. Sure, they had decided it was a fluke but Gray doubted he would ever be able to kiss another girl and feel the same way he did with Jamie. Not that he was going to tell anyone that of course. That would just make him a wuss.
"Winchester," Gray ruffled her soft dark brown hair before plopping down beside her, offering her a banana while he bit into his bagel.

"So you do remember me Shepherd.I was beginning to wonder since I hadn't heard from you in a few days." She joked. Jamie and Gray could go a few days without talking, but she always gave him a hard time about forgetting her. "Where ya been?" Not that she cared, as long as he was okay, but if he had been in trouble she would hope he would tell her.
"Hows Daisy, your mom, and dad?" She knew things were changing for Gray. He use to have no dad, now he had a sick one. Jamie smiled and took the banana. "Awww you knew I didn't have breakfast. I thought that was you outside my window." She smirked and lightly bumped her shoulder against his. "I was trying to be late this morning, but I think my cousin is onto me and changedmy alarm. Sneaky woman."She laughed.
She bit into the banana, and of course it could seem a bit sexual. She had always been teased about her eating habits of a banana ad ice cream. But she didn't pay it no mind. She chewed and swallowed before talking again. "Second day already and I wish I was high. Some of these teachers are boring." She commented. "Speaking of, do you have any? I could use some later."

"I vaguely recall who you are. Don't get it to your head woman." Gray gave Jamie a little grin. "I've been around. Been with my dad mostly," throwing her a brave face, Gray hoped she wouldn't see past that. The girl was way too perceptive for her own good. But he supposed it was a good thing they were friends. He knew she would respect him enough not to point anything out.
"Everyone's okay." He shrugged. "Daisy couldn't stop talking about you and she's been researching Australia because of you. She told my mom she wants to go there to study. Thanks very much." The boy grinned and finished his bagel. Her insinuation that he was stalking her made him laugh. "Like I don't have better things to do like uh...I don't know, sleep?" He had yet to meet her cousin despite her always talking to him about her.
Gray looked away when Jamie started eating her banana and he wished they were back at his place smoking a joint. "I do. Come over later." He said. They sat on the steps in silence for a few minutes and watched as people started to appear. They started playing a game where they would guess what happened to the person over the summer. That took up a lot of time and soon, they also went up the stairs and to their lockers.
"Wanna ditch first period?" He asked.

Jamie knew Gray well enough to see his brave face, but she also knew him well enough to let it go. Gray was the kind of guy who would talk when he needed to and could not be forced. Jamie just let him know she was always there when he needed her. "Tell her good for her. Australia is a wonderful country and she could learn a lot education wise. i think she could go." Jamie commented. "She could always go with me one week when I go home." She said meaning when she went to visit her family during Christmas break. "I still do not understand winter in December. It should be Winter in June." She commented since Australia encountered their season backwards apparently.
"Sleep, please. I know that is some lameo excuse so I will not hate you for stalking me. Just so you know I could never hate you if you stalk me. I would be flattered." She said laughing. Jamie nodded to the invitation. "Leave the window open?" She asked knowing he would always leave it open for her. Although she was using the door more. That was a step up.
"You want to ditch already?" She asked giving him a look. "What made you take so long to ask." She turned around, "This way. Follow me." She called as she began to walk back out the school. It was only first period no harm in skipping right.

"I am not encouraging my thirteen year old baby sister to get out of the country, woman. I suggest you don't either if you wanna remain pretty." Gray joked, ruffling her hair one more time. He couldn't imagine being this comfortable with anyone else and he was pretty glad for that too. He didn't need any other girl to be comfortable with. For now anyway. But for certain he needed to get the kiss out of his system. He needed himself another girl to make him realise Jamie was definitely not the only girl in the world he could love. Or like.
Gray chuckled along with Jamie when she continued with the stalker conversation. Only she would say something like that without caring about the consequences. "Fine you caught me. I was hanging by your window wondering what you were thinking and if you were thinking of me. It's like all I can think about." He chuckled. "I'm glad you think I'm such a girl, Winchester." He shook his head in amusement. When she accepted the invitation, Gray smiled. "Don't I always?"
"You started the stalker talk. I had to follow it up." He childishly stuck his tongue out before jumping up to follow her. As they walked to the back of the school, Gray checked to see if anyone was around before he grabbed Jamie's hand and shot out of the school doors and they were out of the school compound.
"Let's go to the pier. We're ditching school entirely." He grinned as he walked in the direction of the pier. He pulled Jamie into him, slinging an arm around her neck and walked.

"I would be looking after your sister. I would never let her wonder off without me. I am quite the good chaperone." She commented. "Don't you dare say a word." She said poking Grayson in the chest. "I will always remain pretty and you know it." She said still smiling. Yes that kiss still weighed heavily in her mind. Which is precisely why she needed to possibly find maybe one or two cute guys to distract herself. Help her get over this feeling Gray's kiss had left inside her.
Jamie would never let the kiss change their friendship, but she still may need some sort of distraction. "That just makes you another one of my girlfriends." Jamie winked joking around. "I think you would look good in a dress, but you may need to shave the legs." She said still laughing. "I like the way you think." She said smiling and still laughing over the whole stalker thing. Gray stalk her, yeah right.
Jamie stuck her tongue out back and wiggled it as She followed closely behind Gray off the school campus. "First its first period and now its the whole day. Damn aren't you all about having me to yourself." She smirked. "I am glad you said that cause I really won't want to go back once I smoke. " she wrapped one arm around his waist as she walked next to him. "We can smoke under the pier too and then walk around. Maybe making fun of people." She smiled.

Gray laughed out loud at her comment about being a good chaperone. "The moment you're in view of some weed you're going to let her out of your sight!" He exclaimed, bumping her shoulder with his. His laughter died down a bit when she mentioned how she would remain pretty. And wouldn't he know it. Damn it, Gray. You need to get laid before you start thinking about marrying this broad.
"You are such a bitch you know that." Gray chuckled, knowing full well Jamie wouldn't take it personally. They were past calling each other names and meaning it. "Girl, I could look good in a garbage bag." He presented himself to her, spreading his arms on both sides. "Look at me. I'm dynamite."
"Jamie, you followed me. I'm not the one all about having me to myself." He chuckled. Although if a gun was pointed to his head, he would gladly say yes, he was all about having her to himself. Not that he was going to admit it. He had to let go. He had to.
"I know you wouldn't. I know you, Winchester. Much too well." Gray grinned. "Making fun of people. Really Jamie? Are we in 1995? We're back to being two years old again?" His math was a little off but then again this was Gray. What the hell did he say that made sense anyway?

"Forget letting her out of my sight, I may just offer her some weed." Jamie winked knowing ow Gray would reactto that. She couldn't help but laugh. He was so cute when she messed with him. Jamie really needed to stop thinking of him in a romantic way. She was his best friend and he was her best friend and thats they way it would stay. Which was a good thing, but she couldn't help but find her mind lingering toward what if...
"Your dyna something, not sure I would say mite. As for a garbage bag...maybe, but I think it would be highly uncomfortablt. Halloween is coming up, maybe you have found your costume." Jamie smirked. "Going as garbage. I like it." She winked again and the run her hand over his head attempting to mess up his lack of hair.
"I hate to point this out and ruin your deliusion, but you pulled me out of the school. You have your arm arounf my waist first. Not that i mind, but its hard to follow when someone is pulling." Jamie smiled at him. A genuine smile that showed she was kidding. "1995 and two yearsold...right...Gray if you were two in 1995 then you should not be a junior right now." Jamie couldn't help but point it out.
"Yeah try freshmen. You would be 15. Which means...ewww I am hanging with a freshman...get away..." Jamie made a mock face and attempted to get away, but damn his strong hold and keeping her tight to his body, which made her break in laughter.

"You dare do that I will mess you up so bad you wouldn't even know which way is up anymore, Ozzie." He growled before grabbing her by the waist and tickling her.
"I prefer the term waste," he retorted and grinned as they continued to walk. The pier was in sight. "Call it what you want but denial really isn't just a river in Egypt." He replied to her comment about it being him who wanted her to himself. Truth be told, sure she was right but he wasn't about to admit to that for sure.
"Oh my God, Winchester shut up about that. You know how bad I am at Math. You face inner rubber." Yes, Gray was definitely five years old. And as they neared the pier, Gray couldn't help yelling "Last one there is a rotten devil egg!!" He shot off.
