He rarely styles it in any way, preferring to let it lie how it will, but if he does do anything to it he will keep it up with some styling cream. Most girls find him to be a pretty handsome guy, though he feels his nose is just way too big. His clothes vary from day to day. Sometimes he seems quite low key, simply wearing a flannel and skinny jeans, but other days he will "dress to impress" as he calls it. What this means to him is wearing bright colors, funny t-shirts, gaudy hats, flourescent glasses/sunglasses, anything that will catch a passerby's eye, and he especially likes zip hoodies. He also has two tattoos, or as he calls it one and a half. The first is on his left shoulder and was conceived during one drunken night with a few of his friends when he was 15. It is a dragon curling in upon itself, and it is all the colors of the rainbow. For a while it embarrased him, but anymore he just thinks it's funny. The second is pretty much a blob of dark on the inside of his left index finger. He got it shortly before he tranferred schools. It was originally supposed to be a moustache, but his mom found out what he was up to and made it to the tattoo parlor before it could get any further. She is currently making him save up his money to get it removed.
Personality: Dave can be a fun guy, and very likeable. In situations where he feels comfortable, he loves to joke around, goof off, and in general get into trouble. He can also be quite oblivious to social situations and say the completely wrong things at the wrong time. While he's never the guy who is the life of the party, he is often times right next to that guy, helping him out and having a great time. He is a bit shy, however, and since he transferred schools he hasn't quite been as flamboyant and energetic as he used to. Part of that comes from being in a new place and not having all his regular friends around, and part of that comes from the regret he feels for the last couple years of his life and how much he messed up. As much as he likes a good prank, he's gotten sort of nervous pushing the boundaries too much. He is also great at making friends with girls. He entered Silver for the start of his second sophomore year, which no one at Silver knows. He tells everyone he just started kindergarten late, which is why he is older than most kids in his classes. He was especially worried that people would blame him for the fire, as he used to get in trouble for similar antics at his old school, but after a rigourous interrogation by his mother he was found not to be guilty (as he wasn't). Still, all the back and forth between Gould and Silver did not help him to adjust any quicker. The earthquake didn't worry him too much, as having grown up in the LA area his whole life he was used to them. He was popular in school, and lots of people overlooked this, but it started to become a big problem once he hit high school. Bashing mailboxes and playing ding dong ditch gave way to smashing windows and other acts of vandalism. A favorite prank was to simply light someones bushes on fire late at night. He showed up for classes less and less often, and it eventually caught up with him at the end of his sophomore year when he failed and the school wanted to hold him back a year. Dave was mortified, and his mother was furious. She yanked him from the school and transferred him to Silver where she hoped he could have a fresh start. She didn't allow him to see many of his old friends, the ones she felt were the troublemakers (mostly his guy friends). His first year at Silver was tumultuous, but he has started to get his act together, work harder at school, and even make a few friends. His current favorite is the two episodes of The Xtacles that were released. He likes skateboarding, and adrenaline rushes in general. He's no pro, but he can pull a few tricks on a vert ramp. He's also starting to find that science is a pretty interesting class now that he's paying attention. And hoodies, because they are super comfortable. He likes to party, still, and will drink most any kind of alcohol.
Dislikes: Being judged, as he feels especially bad for some of the things he's done in his life. He also is wary of the people he hangs out with, as he doesn't want to befriend anyone that could be trouble for him later on. Still, he doesn't like being all alone either, so he's made a few tentative friendships. It's been hard for him to maintain old friendships and make new friendships, which is a stress on his life. But this summer was different. After having spent a year at a new school, Dave had few new friends to show for it. Most of his old friends were jerks, as he found out, and the few that weren't were usually busy or gone on vacation. This was also the first summer Dave was forced to have a job, a rule mandated by his mother. She got him a job at the Whole Foods thanks to their neighbor, and so she was easily able to see if he was showing up or not. He was.
The Whole Foods was where he had just come from, in fact, and for once his day was not entirely wasted by work. As he sat in front of the TV watching an old episode of 30 Rock, he hoped and prayed for someone to save him from another boring evening. Episodes came and went, and Dave even dozed off in front of the tv for a short while. When he awoke, the sky was dark.
"Mom?" he called, hoping at least there was someone to talk to, but his cry echoed though the house without a response. Still at work. He sighed.
