Patrick parked his black Ducati in front of the school building. If he was a nicer person he would have driven in his car and carted his younger siblings along with him, but they had the parental units to drop them off. Plus, it had been awhile since Patrick had gotten to ride his bike and he was rather enjoying it. He pulled off his helmet and looked around. So this was public school. Hmmm….
Patrick secured his helmet to his bike and walked inside the school building dressed plainly in a pair of faded jeans and a soft gray American Apparel T-shirt. While Patrick came from a family with oodles of noodles of money, he didn’t see any reason to show that off with crazy designer clothes. Clothes like that looked major homo…not that Patrick had anything against gays, he strongly maintained, but that didn’t mean he wanted to walk around looking like one.
Patrick was new to the whole public school system. Ready to embark on his senior year, he’d been sent to private schools most of his life. But he’d gotten in major trouble during his 13th year of life back in the eighth grade. His parents caught him with weed and were none too happy about it. So, they sent him off to boarding school. But getting caught with E at the prom, he’d been booted and his parents thought maybe trying public school was the answer. So here he was…public school.
While the majority of the school had apparently been redone over the summer, his surroundings were still decidedly less expensive looking that he was used to. And the students while some still seemed to have money, there were a number that he could tell had clipped coupons at Walmart. Oh well, that was no concern to him. Patrick was mostly out to have fun and fun he would have no matter where he was. Patrick continued down the hall, ready to see what this new school would bring him.
A smile crept across his lips when he spotted Haden Kiley by one of the lockers. Haden of course had been when of his best mates growing up and while Patrick had spent a good portion of his vacation time from boarding school far away from his parents house, he and Haden had still managed to reconnect the few times he’d been home. It seemed to him that Haden had a pretty sweet deal here. It was clear from the faces of those who passed them that Haden had a sense of control over his peers. The two of them reunited again, well, this could be fun.
“Haden, my man,” Patrick said with a lazy smile as he joined the other boy. “See…told ya I was back,” he said casually as he’d mentioned it to the other boy but hadn’t seen him yet since he’d only just returned from Italy where he’d spent a good portion of his summer.

Waking up, Haden had the worst hangover of his life. So yes, he had been dumped by Lily Spencer over the summer. He had flown up to where she was but she didn't quite appreciate the gesture and said no to sleeping with him. Lily Spencer said no to Haden Kiley.
But that was one month old news. With Lily putting him down after what he thought could have been a successful game, he had gotten off the whole 'being a boyfriend' crap. It was a stupid mistake and never will he do it again.
So why the hangover? Certainly it was not over Lily breaking up with him. After he left the snowy mountains, he had gone to Cabo, Rio de Janeiro, Hawaii, Malaysia and Paris on his private jet on his father's card. He asked no questions, Haden gave no lies and he had the best month of his teenage life.
Although waking up at home on his first day of school with a hangover the size of a whale was not something he had counted on. But he got up anyway, went through the whole ritual of getting ready for school. He made do with a granola bar for breakfast and left a note for his mother that he was going to school. The woman worried too much, if the seventy-two missed calls and forty text messages were any indication.
He was dressed rather casual in a dark blue polo t-shirt and jeans with sneakers but even then, eyes were on him. Some were filled with lust and some were filled with curiosity and some...pity. Pity? What the hell?
Shaking his head of the morbid thought of someone actually having heard the rumors of him being dumped by Lily. Then again, he didn't have to act like it mattered to him because blondie in an inappropriately short skirt was waving at him and he smirked at her. "Looking good, Danielle." He whispered in her ear and was rewarded with a blush and a giggle. "See you after school," he raised a lazy hand and continued to walk until a girl grabbed him by his t-shirt sleeve and slammed him on the locker.
"Oh my God Haden, haven't seen you in so long! You look super ripped. Did you go to the gym all summer?" The girl excitedly rushed through her words. Her gaggle of friends just giggled and Haden chuckled in amusement. All he had to do was raise his hand to run through his hair and the girls reacted with sighs and excited whispers.
"Ladies, if you'll excuse me I-" Haden was interrupted mid-sentence when Patrick's voice almost silenced the girls immediately. At least before their excited whispers came back, asking who Patrick was and was he single and did he date sophomores. The dark haired senior chuckled again in amusement and asked the girls to run along. Begrudgingly they did but one of the girls made a phone sign with her fingers and pointed at Haden before walking away with the most seductive sway of her hips.
"Patrick Donovan, as I live and breathe." He nodded in acknowledgment before shaking his hand in the way boys usually did. "I told you to stay in Italy man. You're cramping my style." He joked. They had been friends since what...second grade? They were each other's wingmen throughout their grade school lives but when Patrick was sent away to boarding school, Haden went his own way. But despite having a pretty high success rate, having Patrick around had always been more fun.
"When did you get back?" he asked before gesturing to Patrick to walk.

Patrick couldn't help but grin as the girls seemed to swarm them. Clearly, they were already showing interest in him which was something that he definitely didn't mind. However, Patrick had plenty of time for them. He was confident by the end of the day he'd already have new phone numbers in his iphone so there was no reason to rush. Plus, he had no intention of stealing Haden's girls. He was sure there were more than enough to go around.
He laughed at Haden's joke, simply nodding at the girls as they went on their way. "Yes, well all good things must come to an end," he said with a slightly over dramatic sigh. He'd spent the summer gallivanting around Italy with the very two boys he'd been expelled with. The three of them had all been caught together. One was now in military school and the other had been un-expelled when his father donated a new art building however he was still under some kind of crazy probation so in the end Patrick thought he'd gotten the best deal with simply having to go to public school. Although he would miss the freedom of no parents in boarding school.
"I just got back a few days ago though...been sleeping off the jet lag. I think I mostly got the whole Pacific Coast time thing down now though," he said although he still was a little backwards with it all.
"So, you seem pretty popular," he smirked, nodding toward the girls which had made their way across the hall but still more content watching Patrick and Haden talk than anything else. "Whatever happened with that snowboarding chick anyway?" he asked, as he had heard the story up until Haden actually getting to wherever she'd been in Europe. "I googled her. She was hot."

"My reign here is dwindling as we know it." Haden sighed dramatically before shaking his head in amusement. The grin on his face was indicative of the fact that despite it being easy for Patrick to do so, there was now way he would ever hurt Haden's reputation. They always had each other's backs. They lived by the bro code and not once have they ever broken it. Well except for that one time when they were still sophomores when they managed to get twins... But that was a very very long time ago and as Haden recalled, they had a good time.
"Ah, nasty. I kind of just got in last night." He paused to check out a girl who was giving him the eye. He raised one corner of his lips in a lopsided grin which made her look away, slam her locker door and off she went. Haden grinned and returned his attention to his long time friend. "Or at least I think I got in last night. One whole month of traveling man...was wicked awesome." Haden chuckled and continued to walk.
Again, he paused so a group of girls could talk to him and him, being the generous type, answered all their mundane questions about his summer. They obviously also showed great interest in his companion so Haden did what any good wingman would do. He introduced the girls to Patrick. "He'll be here for the rest of senior year. Pace yourselves ladies. Plenty of us to go around." And just like that, it set off a torrent of giggles and excited whispers among the girls.
Haden stifled a chuckle and let Patrick do his magic. And Haden stopped to think how gullible these girls are and how guys like Patrick and himself should not be held responsible for 'preying' on their naivete. They should have learned from their friends and their friends' friends about Haden and other guys like him. Introspective moment over, he was suddenly in front of his locker as Patrick asked about Lily.
He obviously wasn't about to divulge into the fact that he got dumped by the girl after the long trip he went on just to sleep with her so embellishments were in order. "Didn't get what I wanted so that was that." Or downplaying it...that should work. Haden laughed at Patrick's ease in using technology to check people out. Haden relied on the good old fashioned grapevine and actually getting out of the house. "She's probably coming back to school soon. You'll meet her." He shrugged, not entirely caring if he himself saw Lily any time soon.
"And you? Haven't heard of any new conquests lately...have you finally settled down like your mama asked you to?" Of course, Haden knew Patrick was never going to settle down. Or at least not in high school. No, definitely not in high school. He would think it would disappoint the girls way too greatly if he was suddenly off the market. Patrick was a lot of things but a one woman man he was not.

Patrick just laughed at Haden's over dramatism as he figured it wasn't true. After all, Haden knew very well that Patrick would never go after one of his girls and vice versa. It was the way Patrick had been with his friends in school. After all, there were plenty of girls to go around, why compete? Sure there was the occasional competition but it was never taken seriously and the other guys simply bowed down to whoever had won that night. It was just how it was. "Yeah, you should have stopped by in Italy but I guess we kept missing each other," he said with a casual shrug. No skin off his back. He'd had a good time either way. Plus, it had been the last time he'd see his old boarding school friends in awhile, so he was glad they'd gotten one last summer of partying in before they all were forced to go their separate ways toward whatever punishment they were receiving for being kicked out. More girls. Wow, they really seemed to be flocking to them. Patrick didn't mind one bit. He smiled and introduced himself. He might have mentioned the getting kicked out of boarding school thing to a few...they seemed to like that. Patrick didn't really consider himself a 'bad boy' he was just a guy who liked to have a good time and did whatever he felt like when he felt like doing it, but girls liked that whole bad boy image, so why not use it to his advantage a little. After all, it was true. He'd been kicked out of school for drugs. Sure, the whole story of taking E at the prom was way less thrilling, but who needed details anyway? "Ah that sucks. I hate teases," he said simply about Lily. He figured that they was probably more to the story but he figured there was no need to push it out of his friend. After all, getting turned down was rare but it did happen. It was just something the boys usually downplayed and acted like it didn't. "Nah, I don't need to meet her. If you were still banging her I'm sure I would, but what's the point now unless you wanna go in for round two. I mean snowboarding is fun and all but I don't really follow the pro's or anything like that," he said, dismissing the whole thing. After all, he didn't care much either way. He'd only asked because Haden had mentioned it. "Me? Yeah right," Patrick said. Patrick had no interest in a relationship. Sure, he'd go out on some dates with girls but he got bored easily and mostly just wanted to have fun. He was sure that at some point in his life that desire would kick in to actually settle down, but as for now that goal was nowhere in sight. Fun was really all he cared about. "Let's just say lots of Italian girls," he said with a laugh. ---- Lily Spencer was nervous about the first day of school. She'd returned home a few weeks ago and she'd mostly just been training in the indoor half-pipe and at the gym. She always checked for Haden at the gym since she knew they went to the same one, but he was never there. She didn't know where he was. Lily's feelings about Haden were very complicated. On one hand she was very angry with him. After he'd tried to get her to sleep with him, she'd sort of freaked out and dumped him. Afterward, the more she thought about everything that had happened between them, the less she liked the way she'd been treated. However, despite that, she couldn't help but still have feelings for him...imagine him showing up again.... But today was a new day and as it was the first day that she might actually see the boy, she had to be prepared. Dressed in a pair of skinny jeans and the very same red tank top he'd told her not to wear without a sweater, she walked into school. She did not have a sweater, in fact she'd forced herself not to bring one so she wouldn't chicken out. She headed down the crowded hall and actually spotted Haden. He was with some guy she didn't know and a bunch of girls were around them... Lily took a deep breath, watching as the girls headed away. Haden and the other boy stayed there, leaning against the lockers and talking like they were good friends which didn't make sense since Lily was sure this guy was new. She took a deep breath and headed down the hall, walking past Haden and his new friend without looking at them. OOC: They can ignore Lily or make a comment to her or whatever. I just wanted her to walk by the rest is up to whatever you want Haden to do about it

Haden then realised what a doofus move for not stopping in Italy since he knew Patrick was there anyway. They could have had a lot of fun together. But Haden decided his summer had been epic already so it wasn't that big a deal. "Eh, we'll do next summer." Haden shrugged.
Having Patrick around could be deadly. He was genuinely nonchalant and might pick up more girls with that kind of charm than Haden ever did by pretending to care. But it would provide him with some entertainment for sure and really, that was all Haden needed. He was easing into his old lifestyle already as they spoke and everything was awesome.
"Am I right?" Haden gave Patrick's shoulder a backhanded smack in agreement when he called Lily a tease. She really wasn't and Haden knew that but as long as Patrick didn't push, he was in the clear. Besides, they weren't the touchy feeliest bros in the world. All that fancy emotional talks just obviously not them. "Round two? No way man, she's not worth that." Haden laughed it off.
Laughing at his friend's joke about the Italian girls, Haden almost didn't see Lily until he heard some whispers and saw some finger pointing. His eyes swept the halls until he saw what the commotion was about and it just happened to be Lily in the red tank top he had reprimanded her wearing a few months ago when they were together. He subtly nudged Patrick and nodded his head in Lily's direction.
Strangely, the feelings he had just a few months ago seeing Lily that revealing did not creep up. "Think she's trying for round two?" Haden turned to Patrick before smirking at Lily. "Would have looked nicer with a skirt." He commented, his finger moving up and down to indicate he was talking about her outfit.

"Italy again? It was awesome but nah, let's check out somewhere else. I've kind of always wanted to go to like Japan or something," he said. Growing up in a wealthy family, Patrick was very well traveled. He had even been to Japan once but he'd been a kid so he didn't really count that. Usually on all of his break though he picked somewhere to go to. Sometimes its was somewhere close by, sometimes it was somewhere far. It was mostly wherever he felt like at the time. He's spent last Christmas break in Cabo, his Spring Break catching the end of the snowboarding season in Vermont, then the summer in Italy. Who knew where he'd go this year. Patrick simply laughed when Haden commented on Lily. He didn't know the girl so he could only assume that if Haden thought he was getting something from her that he didn't that she'd been leading him on. Patrick knew that he and Haden's styles were very different but that was part of the reason they worked so well together. Haden might sometimes miss out on something (or someone) because he was preoccupied putting effort into getting with another girl, but Patrick missed out on any of the girls who weren't willing to just sleep around (or at least have a good make out session and fool around a bit). Also, Haden was super clean cut and Patrick was well, not. So the two boys tended to attract different girls as well depending on what the girls' types were. So all and all the two of them teaming up and being each other's wing men worked wonders since they tended to get the best of everything combined. Haden nudged him into the direction of the blonde and Patrick recognized her from the pictures he'd seen online although he had to admit she looked much better in person than she did bundled up in snowboarding gear like everything online had been. Haden made a comment to her and Patrick watched as the poor girl froze. He just kept his mouth shut because she probably deserved it from Haden, but she didn't deserve anything from him. --- Lily stopped at looked at Haden when she heard his comment. She should have been ready for this! She knew she was going to see him and she'd even written a list of possible things he might as and different comebacks for them so she'd be ready. But him telling her she'd look better in a skirt...that hadn't made her list in any way shape of form. After all, it was the complete opposite of cover up which was what he'd told her time and again when they had been dating. "Whatever. No--nothing is ever--nothing's ever good enough for you is it," she said, stumbling over the words a little bit before continuing on her way. As she walked away she replayed the conversation in her head, realizing that she should have said, "you're just bitter that I wouldn't sleep with you" since that would have had more of an impact than her feeble attempt. She partly wanted to text it to him but that would make it worse. Instead she took a deep breath and continued down the hall, ducking into the nearest bathroom and splashing some cold water on her face to calm herself and keep herself from crying. wrapped Lily --- Patrick watched as the poor girl attempted a come back. He could tell that she really was a mild sort of girl, probably not a tease. But whatever. He laughed once she walked away. "I agree, a skirt would have looked hotter," he said with a smirk. Tags

"Sweet." Haden nodded at the idea of Japan. He'd been there a couple of times and he rather enjoyed their...hospitality. He really wouldn't mind revisiting the country. He could totally get into the culture once more. And he got to eat fresh sushi, that was the best part of his trip anyway. The eating. And after that, hitting the bars for some heavy drinking, it would be epic.
He was supposed to feel bad about lying to his friend about someone he used to go out with but sadly, Haden was just not human enough to do so, which resulted in him being a complete douchebag when it came to not having his way. Funny thing was, he was pretty sure he actually liked Lily in the first place. And come to think of it, he was sure her rejection bruised his ego. But why he was treating Lily this way now was beyond him. No girl deserved that kind of treatment.
When Lily didn't even reply with the truth, about her not agreeing to sleep with him, it was then that Haden felt bad. Of course, he wasn't about to show it to Patrick or to Lily or to half the student body lingering around to witness the showdown between exes. As Lily walked off and Patrick agreed with Haden's comment, Haden didn't even laugh. He shouldn't have said that. He should have just ignored her. And he should stop caring so much. He was Haden fricking Kiley.
The bell rang then and a collective groan was heard through the hall as everyone scrambled to get to class before the second bell rang. Haden snapped out of his contemplations and turned to Patrick. "Going out to lunch?" He asked his friend as he walked backwards in the direction of his first class. "I'm heading down to the sub shop round the corner." Haden informed Patrick before raising a hand and turning around to get to class.
[OOC: Bromance part deux for lunch or wrap it here? I'm good with anything. I like them as friends!]

We can just assume they got lunch together. I am the sleepiness and seeing as the week is coming to an end I know I am slow on weekends. I <3 them as friends too. This is going to be epically legendary.
