Elena woke up energized. She had a great night last night, she got to go to a party with the Ghost Adventures crew, and she did not mind Zak Bagans flirting with her, they seemed to do that when around each other, and she has gotten to know Nick Groff's wife even better. She came home late but her uncle was cool with it since she did not do it often and he knew she would get up on time in the morning. Which of course she did. She took a shower and got ready and then got her bag together and headed down the steps. She was still getting use to hearing the sound of heels clicking on the stairs as she walked down them. She has changed her fashion over time, she does more girly girl along with comfy and she is more sure of herself now then ever before.
After eating she got in her car and headed to school. Walking in she dropped off some stuff in her locker and just did not feel like going to class yet. Finding a seat on a bench she sat down and pulled out a book, she was readign Instiable by Meg Cabot and it was really good. It was about vampires which is no suprise when you got to know her. She was way into that kind of stuff, the paranormal, supernatural, gothic whatever you want to call it.

Summer had passed by way too quickly for Takumi's liking. Already it was October... and with it came his repeated senior year... and, worse still, the colder weather. He really hated the colder weather! The Japanese youth pulled his jacket a little tighter around his slim frame and pushed his chin beneath the coils of the woollen scarf he wore around his neck. Yes, the sun was shining but nowhere near enough for his liking!
With his eyes cast down at the pavement he headed inside the main gate and he was a million miles away - a million *sunny* miles - when he stumbled over a pair of feet. He yelped... corrected his balance (thanks to a spot of quick thinking and a hand against his tripper's knee) before looking at the culprit.
"Elena-chan!" he said in immediate good humour. "If I must trip then I am honoured that your feet are the cause," he added with a grin. "What is it you are reading?" It wasn't manga and so he hadn't a clue!

Elena glanced up and was glad to see it was Taki. "Oh Taki I am so sorry" she pulled her feet back farther. "I guess I got so caught up in the book that I didn't pay attention" she said with a laugh and a smile. She wondered if he would also notice the difference in her, how she back to normal as she can get. She moved her messanger bag so he could sit next to her if he wanted to. "It is call Instiable, it is about Meena Harper a dialouge writer for a soap and how she falls for Lucien Antonescue and he is a dracula's son and all they go through and how she leaves him to fight with the Palentine that kill vampires. It is really very good so far" she shut her book and put it away.
"Sit" she insisted. "How was your summere? What did you get into?" she asked him. She moved and put one leg up under her and got comfy, there was plenty of time to chit cat and catch up before classes started for the morning. "Ready for another year?" she asked with a smile on her face. She was glad she was starting the year with more friends then she had last year, and she hoped to make some new ones to. She was ready to have more fun then the past years.

Of course he sat alongside Elena. How could he fail to take her invitation? 1) she was his friend and 2) she had to be one of the most intriguing people he'd met since arriving in America. She hunted ghosts. Hunted *ghosts*! How cool was that?
He shuffled a little closer, seeking some of her warmth, as he shoved his hands in between his knees in a vain attempt to warm them.
He hadn't a clue what the book's title meant - and wouldn't have been able to repeat it had Elena even written it down for huim. An unknown word but he nodded (hopefully knowingly) all the same.
"Aaah so... vampires. Like Dracula, hai? And Blade. I have seen that film. It's good!" he enthused.
He half turned so as to better look at Elena. "Summer was good," he replied. "Izzy and I went camping and we... well... we got a little closer." Still not THAT close, though. He was still waiting for her to tell him it was ok to try that. "And I learned how to ice skate! How good is that?" Ice skating hadn't been something he'd attempted back in Osaka. "Although I admit I am not good at it. I seemed to spend all of my time on my... aaah... Here," he finished, pointing to his rear end. "A new year... yes. I will pass this time. I am determined! But what of you? How did you pass your summer?"

"Well what can I say you know me, I love this kind of stuff" she said with a happy laugh when he knew about Dracula. "This guy I know Zak Bagans he showed me this kit he bought, a vampire hunting kit from the 1600's. It was cool of course he payed a pertty penny for it" she giggled. "It was cool holding a wooden stake in my hand actually" she said to him honestly. "It made me feel all powerful, I can see why most vampire hunters are chicks in stuff, we just look so much hotter with a stake in our hand" she grinned. "Of course then Zak kept teasing me about getting off on holding a piece of wood" she rolled her eyes but was still smiling. "It was such the typical guy response" she said to him.
"Ice skating is fun, I don't do it much but I hav done it back in the past. Where I lived before we had a huge skating rink and me and my friends use to go there alot. After a hour of ice skating we would get hot chocolate and go back to someones house to make smores. That was a perfect winter day to me" she had a soft smile on her face as she drifted back to those times, it has been a long time since she even thought of that memory.
"It sounds like you had a great summer. And it is great to hear that you and your girl Izzy are getting closer. It is so easy to see how happy she makes you, your eyes just sparkle when you talk about her" she told him honestly. "I spent my summer just working and occassionally traveling for the ghost hunting society. I got to work with others around the country and it was cool. Of course my favorite people to work with is Zak and the rest of the GAC crew, that stands for Ghost Adventures Crew" she said. Her face felt flushed and she knew she was blushing, because well to anyone who knows her including Zak himself, it is well known she has a huge huge crush on him. "So I had a fantastic summer" she said honestly.

As always, Takumi only followed about half of the conversation. His English had improved a little over the summer months but he still had some way to go until he reached anything close to the fluent stage. He nodded sagely enough and at what he hoped were appropriate intervals. “Aaah smores!” he exclaimed with a laugh. “Izzy made some of those for me when we were camping. I hadn’t heard of them before then. They are... messy, hai?” he finished, recollecting the state he’d ended up in and with more molten marshmallow in his hair then in his mouth. Izzy had found it most entertaining!
“Yes, we are close.” he went on and in reference to Elena’s comment regarding Izzy. “Although her brother was hurt in an accident over the summer break. He is in... ah... chair with wheels. I hope he gets better soon, though.” Izzy was taking the accident quite hard and Takumi hated to see her so upset.
“Sooo... you and this Zak are... friends?” Takumi punctuated that last word with a slight lift of his hands, accompanied by an elevated left eyebrow. “Your face turns red when you talk of him,” he added with a wicked grin.

"The messier they are the better" Elena laughed. "I like mine all messy, the chocolate really melted same as the marshmellow. I like roasting marshmellows over a bonfire to." She was a outdoor and indoor girl equally. She can't say she loves one more then other. Both have ups and downs if you are in them to long. Both had paranormal activity so she felt at home in both inside and outside. "How did you like the camping?" she asked him. "What was your favorite part?" she asked him. It felt good to have a friend like Taki who did not think she was nuts for waht she did and what she believed it. He is the only person outside of the others in her field that actually wanted to talk about things, and believed in them.
"I am sorry that he is in a wheelchair. Car accidents suck big time. That was how my parents were killed" she said. She hoped she did not sound like a downer or anything by saying that. "He was a lucky boy to survive. It was clearly not his time to go. It is good you are there for Izzy, she needs that shoulder to lean on. And I can tell you are the perfect shoulder for her" she said honestly to him. "You two clearly have a future together" she nudged her friend with her shoulder. "Tell me your secret so I can have that" she teased him and laughed. She figured it was time to lighten up the mood after talking about a car accident.
"Yes we are friends" Elena said. "He is older in his late 20's but not really that much older" she added hastily. She knew some would gawk that he flirted with someone as young as her. But they were alike where they were not scared, and wanted to know what was going on. And she was not like other girls her age, she got him and he go ther. "Well he is handsome" she said evasivly. She felt embaressed that she was actually blushing, she never does that, and she is not the kind of girl to gush over a guy but clearly Zak is different, he is a man not a boy.

"Oh camping! It was.... Sugoi! Fun! Amazing!" he declared and Takumi rubbed his hands together to add emphasis. "It was just Izzy and me and for five nights we stayed away. We talked. A lot." And he'd held her all five of those nights. Nothing more than that. Not until she said she wanted him to do more. "She is taking the accident hard, though," he added with a wry nod. It was difficult to talk to Jett as well. He seemed... different. Then again, he WAS different. Not him exactly but his outlook on life.
"But I have no secret, Elena-san," he added with a laugh and he nudged her back.
He listened closely when she told him about this Zak boy. No. He was older. A man then. "Handsome... That is good," he said with a grin. "He can count himself fortunate indeed to have a girl like you in his life. I know I feel that way for having you as my friend." Elena was fun to be with and to talk to... and even more fun to go hunting spirits with!
"You want to come with me one night to the bridge near the old vineyard mansion on Cross Pike Road?" he asked. "It is said a baby can be heard crying there at night. Some people even saw ghostly footprints in some powder they sprinkled all over the bridge. Adult ones... not those left by a baby. It would be good to know if those tales are true!"

"I can't wait to get to know Izzy" Elena said honestly. "She sounds very cool." She has not had a chance to meet her at all. And she figured for Taki to like her she had to be cool. "I think it is great you two can be together like that and not feel pressured to go any father then either of you are ready to. And I am sorry about her brother Jett" she said honestly to him. "But I am glad he is alive" she said to him. "Something like that affects and changes everyone" she said honestly. She knew what a serious car accident can do to everyone.
"I am glad to have you as a friend to just as I am glad to have Zak as a friend to. I cherish all of my friends, they are my prize possesions" she said honestly. She loved everyone that she had in her life that she cared for. She was glad that they were getting off the subject of Zak since that embarassed her so much talking about it.
"I have heard of that bridge and the legend. I have never checked it out it would be interesting. I am going in with the idea of I have no idea if what people said is real or not" she said. "It makes it more fun that way when you get evidence. And other people I believe them but need proof at the same time. Call it the professional in me" she said with a laugh. Suddenly she heard the bell. "Well we better get to class, I will talk to you later, I am glad we could catch up" she said hopping up. She gave him a last smile before heading off to her first period class.
