They had returned to the house to change, they had spent most of the morning at the beach and in the sea, by the time they managed to get back to the house, he wasnt sure who had more sand in their hair, him or Kai. The two had entered the house giggling madly which had been a sight for sore eyes to his parents.
Now he had changed into fresh clothes and showered, Ashley had packed them a picnic, the two of them headed for the park, he had left his car in the lot with the food and cooler. Ashley was always paranoid about the knowing looks that he would get from the people that walked past him, or the angry glances that some adults would give him, like he had no right to be walking a toddler through the park on his own, or that he was disgusting for being a single parent and at school or some other such nonsense.
"You want to go make use of the swings baby boy." Ashley said.
"Yeah." Kai said Ashley laughed as he pushed open the gate to the playground where much older kids were playing and some about Kai's own age.
Ashley pushed the chair to beside an open swing before setting Kai up in one of the secure swings.
"He your brother?" someone asked Ashley looked at her and smiled.
"No actually his my son, Kai." he said to her as she set up her own child in the one a little further down.
"Your pretty young for a dad." the woman said.
"Yeah a lot of people say that, I'm Ashley." Ashley said to her she smiled.
"Jenna." the woman said. "This is Kenzie." she added.
"Nice to meet you, how old is he?" Ashley asked.
"His 18 months." the woman said to him.
"Kai's two, though he thinks his five." Ashley said as he pushed Kai's swing.
"Is his mom the one that looks after him." Jenna asked.
"No his mom isn't in the picture, and she isn't coming back either apparently, so its just me Kai and my parents at home." Ashley said to her.
"And your how old?" she asked.
"Seventeen." Ashley said she whistled. "Its a lot of hard work, though its worth it in the end.
Ashley said as he looked around the park at the other parents doing things with their kids, it was hot and yet windy, their was no one he knew around he didnt think which suited him.

Catalina was enjoying a day out without having to look over her shoulder. Quenten was still in jail and her and Colby could both breath easy at least. The day was so nice she did not feel like going home just yet. She sent a quick text to Colby to let him know she was taking the long way home and to get rest and she will have food for him when she got back. She saw the park and the kids and families. One day her and Colby would have a baby and be here together as a family she could not wait for that. Walking around she saw a guy her age that she saw at school. By now she knew the news would be around to everyone but she would not hide, she would hold her head up high because she did not do anything.
Sitting on a beach she listened to talk. Just like she thought he did look fimilar. "Hi do you go to Silver?" she asked him curiously. "Oh sorry I did not mean to butt in" she blushed. She was more open now that Quenten was in jail. It did not mean that she was going to shake hands or anything with this guy. She could talk and not touch a person so that was a good thing. "I go to Silver" she explained to him. "I am a Catalina Corinthos."

Ashley was so wrapped up in what he was doing he didn't notice the girl approach when he heard her speak he looked up with a smile on his face, he heard her say she went to silver, he caught her name which sounded vaguely familiar but he didn't know why, maybe it was a mistake or his mind playing tricks on him or something similar.
"Ashley, and yes I attend Silver." Ashley said to her with a warm smile. "This is Kai." Ashley said as he continued to push the swing while talking to her making sure it didn't go to high for his son. "We were just out here trying to waste a few hours, its hot so we brought a picnic, typical family stuff you know." Ashley said to her fighting the blush that was attempting to creep onto his face at the use of family around someone he barely knew and a girl of all things.
'Get control of yourself Bolton.' Ashley thought to himself.
"Daddy can I go on the slide." Kai said loudly bring Ashley out of his own thoughts as he brought the thing to a halt.

"Who knows I might be doing the same thing in the next few years" Catalina said. She has really did some thinking, she does not want to wait to get married. She knows they are young but they can make the marriage work. They have already been through so much as a couple so they knew they were strong and loved each other. He was her soul mate and she was his, they both knew that. "He is a beautiful baby boy" she said and smiled at Kai. "It is nice to meet you Ashley" she said to him. She really did hope he did look at her funny becasue she did not want to shake his hand.
"I am taking my time before heading home. I have to pick up food for me and my boy I mean Fiancee now after here" she blushed. It was still so great saying it though, and she was so happy that she could say it at last. "Kids do love to play" she laughed. "I can't wait to be a mother" she said honestly. "But first I need to get married." The soft smile on her face was there because she was thinking of her wonderful fiancee.

Ashley smiled, "Your engaged, and still in school, well I'm glad I'm not the only one with a different home life at school, that makes me feel a little less of the odd one out." Ashley said with a grin. "Don't get me wrong, I think its good that you feel so strongly about someone in school, okay its like Nathan and Haley esq, but who am I or anyone else to tell you how to lead your life right, I mean as long as your both happy, what does it matter what every body else thinks." Ashley said to her as he ran his hand through his son's hair.
"I would wait until you have done everything you want to do before you have kids, when you have kids everything is put on hold for them, which is what it should be like, but if you want to see the world and taste everything that life has to offer, you want to wait until you have done it all before you have children." Ashley said to her. "I was fifteen when he was born, fourteen when he was conceived, my mother very nearly murdered me for it, her father wanted me dead... it wasn't a two way thing, no apparently in his eyes I was the only guilty party in the whole thing." Ashley said with a grin.
"He changed my life, I mean yes I stressed about whether I would be able to play football, whether I was kissing my college chances good bye, but I've managed, its just not for everyone, I'm a teenage dad, I walk through this park and get glares from people who see me with child and work out that his my child." Ashley said to her. "People usually assume I'm the part time dad because I don't have a girl on my arm, thats hard." Ashley said.

Catalina listened to him talk. He as others did not know all she has been through. She is not a teenager anymore. She is going to get married and she hoped here soon and she could start a family. She knew that it would be hard to not do any of that, she wanted Colby and their family the thing that would make her feel most safe and full in the world. "I am not a teenager not really, not mentally or emotionally. I feel in those resepects like I am a 30 year old woman. I am ready to get married and have a family, and I know i will have a supportive husband" she said honestly.
"I do know this much that whatever happens in my life can only be good for now on. Even having a baby here in the next few years would be good compared to other things I have gone through" she shrugged. "Learning young that life is not a happy thing really makes a girl grow up." She wished her mom and dad was here right now, she was sure they would support her and Colby getting married to. They always did love him and saw him as the man their little girl would marry one day. In fact she was sure they hoped that was the case.
"And to be honest I am not interested in going to college for awhile" she said. Not wanting to be far from Colby and not really ready to be apart of the college word of drunken college frat boys scared the wits out of her. She was not into parties anyway, she hated parties anymore but went for friends or for Colby which was not often. "I am not much one for partying either, I perfer staying in and spending time with Colby my fiancee and my friends, that is much more fun then going out to parties and the like" she said her eyes looked around at the couples their with their children.

Ashley smiled as he watched his son for a moment, taking the time to ponder what he would say next to the girl, he liked her frankness, and he suspected that she would probably be a really good mother, he didn't think people should have them so young but then he would be an idiot to say so baring in mind what he had done himself.
"They change your life that is for sure." Ashley said to him. "He did mine, they give you perspective, and if you have them with someone you love and are involved with rather than what happened with me to some degree its easier to live with when your young probably." Ashley said to her with a grin.
"Their alright when their babies but when they start being able to talk back to you rather than babble at you in baby speak, they start to get cheeky... well his always been cheeky but its a quirk of his personality." Ashley said with a chuckle as he realized maybe for the first time in a long time that he could be proud of what he had achieved with Kai...
Ashley looked at her, "You seem like the girl with sense anyway, your know when your ready for it, and your love the changes they bring to your life, and the direction they give you." Ashley said to her.

"I know that I will have a baby young, always knew that" Catalina said and shrugged. She kept a eye on the time she would have to go soon. "I would love a little boy just like his father in everyway" she said honestly to him. A tender smile played across her lips as a image entered her mind of the little minature verison of Colby. "Not to be noisey or anything but is his mother around?" She did not want to be noisey or taken like some mean girl because that was not her. "If not she does not know what she is missing out on, it is her loss more then anything" she smiled at him.
"Kids are the best and your a lucky man" she told him. "Be sure to say hi if you see me around school. I am trying to branch out and make more friends" she said honestly. She looked at her watch and back at him. "I need to get our food, it was wonderful meeting you Ashley and Kai" she said sweetly. With a last smile and a wave she off, she was anxious to get back and see Colby again, she has missed him so much even thought she has not been gone for long.
