Renton hung outside of the building while the prom was starting, he lean against the wall and lifted his left foot up behind and leaned it against the wall. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and pulled out a single one and slipped it in his mouth, he then put the rest away inside his sharp looking pin striped black blazer. He then pulled out a zippo lighter with a skull and cross bones one it. he fliped it open as it magicly lits the fire at the tip. He brought the blazing flame to the tip of the cigarette, and litted gently as the paper slowly starts to wrinkle up.
He took a few puffs from his cigarette as he put away his lighter. he then took the butt of the cigarette from his lips and blew out the smoke from his mouth slowly as he watched his fellow students going in and out of the building. Renton would put on Bouncer duty for a short while till the real bouncer gets back from his break.
Renton's hair was brushed back nicely with a little bit of spikeyness on top and he was clean shaven. He wore a black sharp pin stripe blazer jacket with a black button up shirt half way up pass his chest but keeps a few buttons undone, with a lose black and white checkered tie hanging around his neck. And black solid metalic like pants. and of course his weird looking silver snake loafers.
A couple sudden appeared for the prom, and Rent pulled the cigarette from his lips a bit. "Tickets!" he said firmly they handed him their tickets he took them and rip them in half and handed their halves and kept his for proof that they have paid to come in. And let them in. He sighed, feeling frusterated and tired. He figured after the bouncer gets back from his break, and they announce who is the queen and king of all bitchy snobby ass people, and then go home and drown himself with a pack of beer for the rest of the night.

Cat kissed Colby before they got out of the limo. "You look so handsome" she told Colby as she got out. She let Colby get out first and then got out after him. Taking his hand she put one leg the next out of the limo and stood up. She loved her dress and loved Colby's reaction, he has never seen her in a dress like this. While they began to walk inside arm and arm she noticed Renton. She has not talked to him much knowing he needed to time to heal and move past her. "Lets talk to him" she told Colby softly. Leadig him over to Renton she smiled at the other boy.
"Hi Renton" she said to him. She hoped that they could truely be friends again now that everything has settled and moved on. "You look good tonight" she told him. "Have you been inside yet?" she asked him. Since he was still outside the room where the prom was held she wondered if he saw the room yet. "If you have been in their does it look good?" she asked him curiously. She had full confidence knowing who was on the committee that it was expensive and one of a kind.

Before Cat and Colby showed up, a punk kid tried to sneak in behind Renton's back. Renton rolled his eyes and sighed. "Oi! I don't think so mate!" Renton said quickly before taking the cigarette into his mouth, so he can deal with the punk. "No ticket no prom! Thats how it works!" he said and then shoves the guy away lightly with a warning. "I'll let you in when you got a ticket pal!" he said. He then turned away finally the actual person who was hired to be on duty. "Hey Red thanks for covering for me!" The guard said. "Eh it's nothing I'm thinking of making a career out of it!" Renton said. And they both laughed.
Renton turned of the tickets to the guard. "Well have a nice night then!" Renton said as he starts to walk away. "Wait you arent going to go in or spike the punch or something?" the Guard asked. "Now why in the world would I want to do that?" Renton asked looking back. The guard shrugs. "Cause this prom wouldn't be the same with out ya man!" the guard said.
Renton nodded for a moment thinking if he should or not, but then decieded against it. "nah, I don't have a date and plus I don't have ticket either!" Renton said shrugging. "Oh come on I'll let you in, its on the house, besides you earned it, if you didn't helped me out tonight you probably would need one but since you helped out I think you deserve it!" The guard said. "Beside I figured after the prom you and I could get a couple of beers and discuss your future with the security career!" The guard offered.
Renton now stopped, the offer was too good to turn down, and plus he needed to think of a long term career. He sighed and shook his head. "Fine! You paying for the beers later too!" Renton warned him. "Alright then get your ass in there man!" the guard said laughing. Renton was about to walk back to the prom till suddenly he heard a fimiliar voice. At first it made his heart fluttered but then it felt like pain now shooting it through his chest. He took a deep breath and exhale. He realized it was Cat as he turned around when he saw her. And the dress she was wearing didn't help at all. Renton had to remember now, Cat really loves Colby and they were going to get married soon, and Renton promised to be happy. And Renton promised himself he would never think of Cat that way again. He rather have her as a freind than nothing at all.
Renton swollowed his pride and then gave the best smile he could muster up. "Hey Cat, Colby, how's it going?!" Renton nodded and waved. He quickly toss away his finished cigarette out in the street side, and walked towards the couple. Cat commented on his look. Renton kept his smile. "Thanks, I found this lying around so I figure I put this to some use!" he said honestly. "Wow Cat... you look.... great!" he said trying to find the appropreate way to comment on Cat's dress. He then looks to Colby and nodded to him. "How's it going Colby?" he said. offering him a friendly gesture with his hand. "Um... no I haven't been in the prom yet, I was leaving actually but then my good friend over there talked me out of it." he said. Pointing at the guard.
"I was covering for him for an hour, all I was gonna do was probably wait around to hear who becomes the King and Queen of this years prom event, and then go home." he said honestly, but keeping up with an upbeat tone. " "But I think I'll stay and crash the party and spike the punch for fun!" Renton said jokenly. "We'll you two go and have some fun then, I'll be in a little later, I gotta go take care of my car and park it before it gets towed away!" Renton said as he starts jogging towards the parking area, his car wasnt parked in the proper area, and anylonger now, some one will ticket it or tow it away.
"Save me a dance will ya!" he asked as he gets into his car.
