Lucas was still the same old Lucas, just months later. He was determined to keep his gayness a secret until he graduated. So far he had done a good job. Despite Shelby and Jonell knowing, and he so far knew neither would tell. He was keeping Jonell happy and he knew his sister would never betray him. Not when being his sister meant instant popularity once she got over the whole freshman hurdle. Lucas also protected her from their fathers wrath by taking the fall.
His father always found some reason to beat on Stiles and Lucas always felt the need to try and save Stiles which resulted on the golden child being beaten. Stiles hated and Lucas thought he was helping. So rather then going straight home Lucas came to the park. He needed to write. His poetry was calling to him. Poetry he would never share with anyone else.
He began to write. The words would just flow sometimes. So much that he could get lost until he heard the break of a twig and snapped up closing the notebook and sort of hiding it until he saw who it was.
