Mac had finally got it. It only took like a month, but he finally learned his way around. Now a few months later and although he still knew his way around he seemed to be lost. Or rather turned around. Apparently there were parts of LA he had yet to discover. Of course Mac also thought the Hollywood sign was visible no matter where you stood. He had yet to be corrected about that little fact.
It wasn't until Mac weaved his way through people along the pier that he finally realized where he was. "Oh I know where I am." He said loudly enough to turn heads. Mac shook his head laughing at the idea. Good he was not totally pathetic. He wondered how long it took jade and Alex to find their ways around. The bus actually helped. Of course grandfather had finally made sure Mac got his license and got a car but he took the bus when he could.
Now of this was his little secret. If his grandfather ever found out he would be in deep trouble for not using his car, the license or a driver. Now that Mac knew where he was the key was finding the bus stop. "Any idea where the bus stop is?" He asked someone. He thought it was a few feet in front of him but he didn't see the post. Maybe he was a few yards off. Either way at least he knew where he was. That was good.

Mikasi was totally and completely lost, he knew he was at the pier but where on the pier and how to get to the bus stop to go home that was an entirely different matter. He had somehow got turned around coming out of the bathroom, next thing he knows he was in the middle of god knows where on the pier. 'I need help, I need to get out of this god forsaken place now.' he thought to himself.
"Any idea where the bus stop is?" he heard someone with an Irish accent say from practically next him, he looked at the blond boy hopeful that the boy in question knew more about this place than he did.
"Please tell me that this is close to exit to the damn pier, I have been looking for the better part of twenty minutes. I just want to get on the bus and go home before my father calls the cops to report me missing." Mikasi said running a hand through his hair. "I hate big cities, no scratch that I loath big cities, I should have paid more attention to my fokes when they were trying to teach me to track. My grandfather would be laughing his backside of at me for getting lost from the bathroom." Mikasi said to himself more than any one else around him. "Nope sorry I don't have a fricking clue about where the bus stop is, but maybe we can find the bus stop together. Two heads are better than one after all." Mikasi stated.

Mac nodded in agreement. "I live lived here for months and i am still having trouble. Every time I believe I know where I am I swear something changes to throw me off." he said laughing. "Mackenzie. Please call me Mac." He said to the boy offering his hand. "I was able to get here, but now I cannot get back. Then again I sort of jumped on a bus and got off so that may be my own fault." At least he knew which bus line would take him home. He remembered that much.
"Come the end of the pier is this way..I think." Mac said pointing but then looked around, "or that way. If worse comes to worse I can call my cousin. I just hope he doesn't tell my grandfather. My grandfather would not laugh, he would yell cause I took a bus and didn't drive." forget getting lost. Mac was laughing as the boys kept getting turned around.
"Is there a map on the pier we can look at." Some places had maps that they could check out that would map out piers. He saw one in the mall so he hoped the pier had one. It was worth a shot right. "Did you come to the pier to explore as well?"

Mikasi shook his head, "Okay I've been here a handful of time since I arrived in town, I kind of come from a small community so the idea of a big bad city is new and foreign to me." Mikasi told him with a smile. "From a reservation with my folks and people to a city full of people who think nothing of debauchary or going down the side walk on roller skates and bikinis." Mikasi said to him with a shake of his head. "This is a far cry from Colorado, actually I think that this is a far cry from any city in the world." Mikasi added.
"Nice to meet you Mac, I'm Mikasi you can call me that or Miki." Mikasi told him with a smile. "What your grandfather would do sounds a bit like what my dad would do, of course he wouldn't shout he'd laugh then tell me after a month I should know how to get of a pier in LA. He'd make fun of me for it, but then we'd laugh about it over pizza at home or something silly like that." Mikasi said to him with a grin.
"I think there is a few maps of this place but is their one close by I have no idea." Mikasi said to him. "You know their are literally hundreds of people around us, we are teens with resources, so why don't we just ask them to point us in the right direction or something." Mikasi said with a shrug.
"My dad is in the store late so he gave me twenty dollars told me to get dinner for myself and have some fun." Mikasi said to him.

"This is a far cry from Ireland to." Mac commented. "Back there I could not leave the Manor without being driven." He said. As he spoke of home his accent came out a bit thicker. "Sometimes i miss it, but LA grows on you after a bit." He told Miki. "But I still find surprises around every corner." He said looking around. They were surrounded and it felt a bit awkward because there were so many people around but no one knew him. In Ireland he had been well known. He still felt alittle bit better being here.
"Thats a good idea. I just cant believe it didn't occur to us sooner." Mac said laughing, "Hold on." He tapped someone on the shoulder and asked. After afew minutes he said thank you."We go down to that hut then right and we should see it. They said look for the bench." Mac told Miki with a shrug og his shoulders.
"What is it like living on a reservation?" Mac had never evern really heard one. Of course he knew about them just from history classes. Still he had never actually read or learned about them and Mac was all about finding out about new things. His grandfather would hate the idea of a resevation. Soemthing without moden technology, then again for all Mac might know that could be wrong anda reservation could be over run with technology. You never know. Maybe now he could learn.

Mikasi smiled, "I dont suppose you have the luck of the Irish do you?" he asked Mackenzie with a smile. "We may need it to get out of here." he added he laughed when Mackenzie brought up surprises around the town. "I know what you mean, this town never ceases to amaze me. I haven't decided whether I like that or not yet though." he said with a smile. "I'll take the people and leave the city I think." he added.
Mikasi watched the other guy ask for directions, glad that at least they might find a way out of this pier before tomorrow night. Mikasi was looking around when Mackenzie said something about a hut. "I really should have paid more attention to tracking lessons from grandpa. He is probably laughing his backside of at me from up above at this very moment." Mikasi said laughing. "Lets get out of here before this place changes its mind and decides to throw another curve ball at us." Mikasi stated.
"Its not much different to any town or city, it is just like a small town." Mikasi told him with a grin on his face. "We live in a three bedroom house, well we used to anyway. My dad and I moved here when my parents decided to get a divorce, my dad wanted to move away from the reservation so I decided to keep him company. We still keep our traditions of course and we have our tribal elders, I just live further from home than the rest of the tribe." Mikasi said honestly. "I am really looking forward to going home and seeing my mom and little brother this summer. I'm kind of hoping that I can persuade my dad to come home with me for at least a week, but I doubt it... he'll have a lot of business during the summer months." Mikasi said to him.
"So what about you Mac? What brought you to LA?" he asked.

"Sometimes I wish I did. Then again there are times I think the luck of the Irish might be the correct term indeed." Sometimes he felt lucky and other times not so much, but it all depended on the situation. "Some of the city is not so bad. Its just so different." Mac commented. "A good thing though. If you knew where I grew up. Difference can be good, bu I admit, some parts of the city I could do without."
Mac smirked, "My grandpa always said why learn to read a map when you have a driver. Now I see why I should know how to read a map."He nodded in agreement. "This way." Mac pointed and began to lead the way. "At least for tonight. I have a feeling LA has plenty of surprises in store for us just to mess with out heads."
Mac began to lead the way. "What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?" Perhaps Mac found a new friend. Someone to hang out with. Mac loved his cousins but he felt like he could be a burden at times. "Will you be there the entire summer?" Then at least Mac could hang out priorto summer. He would probably be sent home for while.
"MY father sent meto live with his brother. I am a bit of an embaressment for him. He does not approve of having a son whom, how do they say it here....bats for his own team." If that makes sense. In other words having a gay son.

Mikasi smiled when he was asked about his activities out of school, "I do a lot of martial arts, its something I started when I was like seven and its only gotten more time consuming since then. I like it though, it keeps me busy and it keeps me fit which i always a good thing." Mikasi told him. "But I like to watch old movies, like really old movies so I can laugh at how bad they are... old sci fi b movies are normally the funniest." Mikasi said eys twinkling merrily. "I think thought that while I am here, I have to try at least once surfing. I like the water but I'm not sure I'll like falling off as much as getting right." he added smiling.
Mikasi winced when the boy told him about why he was in LA, it was bad enough that they had to come to a new city but for that reason. Well he guessed their parents must have been very strict, but he didn't thinkthat his parents would send him to another reservation oor out of town for being gay. It just wasn't something they would do, but then it was fair to say that his parents were liberal in their views of the world. "Yeah I'll be staying there all summer, as much as I like this city I miss my family so its a no brainer for me. Dad will be fine here on his own for a couple of months anyway." Mikasi said to him.
"That sucks, you don't choose to be gay or so they say... you either are or your not." Mikasi said feeling sorry for Mackenzie. "But if you stayed in Ireland I wouldn't have met you so I guess I can be happy about that to some degree." Mikasi said to him.

"Surfing. I like to surf too. Contray to popular beliefe surfing is rather hard to do in Ireland." Mostly cause he had been sick for a few years and had not been surfing as much. Mac had tried to learn and he was decent. Not the best, but decent enough he could hold his own on a wave. It was great excercise and mac loved it. "I assure you wiping out is not as bad as it seems unless you really get knocked over. It's happened to me once or twice. I think you would surfing." Mac loved so of course he was a bit biased.
"Doesn't really matter if I was born or choose to be gay, my father does not believe in it no matter what. He believes its a sin against God, and well he cannot have me in his home to corrupt things." Mac explained. "But you have a point. I am glad to be here. My cousins are here and I missed them, so thats good. Making new friends is always a plus. To bad you won't be here over the summer. We will have to find a way to keep in touch."
Mac usually did not like taking the bus, but this time his rebellious nature got the best of him. He didn't like germs, but so far the bus seemed sort of clean. "Look there it is." Mac said smiling. He pointed to the sign and the bench the screamed bus stop. Or at least he hoped...
