The morning had gone slowly but thankfully lunch time had finally come around and he could escape the classroom for the time being. Felipe hadn't made any arrangement to meet LizBeth as she'd mentioned having to go to the library or something. Probably to catch up on her missed classes thanks to her dental treatment yesterday. As such he resigned himself to passing the time alone... unless, of course, he stumbled across someone he knew. There was always that possibility.
He made a brief pit-stop at the washroom before grabbing his packed lunch out of his locker. Morning books were thrown inside and then the Brazilian youth wandered outside. It was far too nice a day to eat indoors and he rolled up the sleeves of his shirt as he walked.
The shaded area beneath the large tree in the main yard was pretty full and so he veered off to the left and towards the grassy mound that overlooked the tennis courts. The view from there was good and seeing as though today was so fine it would surely be even better. With luck some girls would even be playing a game or two, adding to the pleasant scenery!
He dropped down and sprawled out on the grass, digging out a pair of sunglasses as he settled back to relax and enjoy the next hour...

Abby hadn't seen Felipe or the Liz girl since her run in with them practically two months ago at the pier. She assumed they were back together, which she thought was a bit odd. She personally didn't see anything good about a girl who could make a guy like Felipe pissed off. Then again, Diego was like that wasn't he? And Abby had hurt him. Holy crackers, stop thinking about that boy Abby. Get a grip on yourself.
Not one to ever eat cafeteria food, Abby had gotten help from her cousin working at a sandwich shop with delivery to grab her a sandwich and send it over to school during lunch so there she was, waiting at the entrance of the school for her sandwich. "Turkey inch long with pimento cheese and jalapenos?" She turned and grinned at Xander, her cousin's friend who did the delivery. "Thank you, Xan." She rummaged through her pockets for loose change and paid the guy. "Thank Leon too, kay?" She grabbed the paper bag and walked over to the quad to find a shady spot only to find Felipe already there, lying on the grass.
Grinning, she walked over and quite gracefully tucked herself beside Felipe, opening her bag of sandwich to take out a bag of chips as well as her carefully wrapped sandwich. "Had lunch yet, pretty boy?"

He opened his eyes when a shadow fell across him and Felipe threw one arm across his face so that he could see who that shadow belonged to. Even through his sunglasses the sun wa strong. Strong enough to blind him to the face of the shadow... until she spoke... Then he knew.
"Abby," he stated with a smile. "How have you been?" Felipe sat up and shoved his pack to the one side. "This hill is big enough for us both and for that I shall be eternally grateful," he went on with a broad grin. Abby was one of his best friends, after all.
He watched as she dropped down at his side.
"So tell me," he opened with. "... have you got a date for the prom? I can't believe you haven't," he said with a m,ock frown. "If not you shal come with me. It is decided," Felipe stated determinedly.

"Felipe," Abby bit into her sandwich and held it out for Felipe. "I've been better." She replied with a small grin after swallowing her food. "You charmer," grinning, Abby nudged the boy with her elbow, careful not to be too hard. She didn't want to harm him or anything. Not that the boy with abs to die for could ever be harmed.
His opening statement made her look at him with a quizzical look on her face which turned into a perplexed face before breaking into a grin. "You're actually asking me to the prom? When that Liz girl is obviously your date already?" She wasn't offended nor was she pissed about it. She was slightly amused. The boy probably didn't know that prom was only for two people. "Are you going to get a corsage for me and buy me a ticket and all too?" She chuckled in amusement.
Abby was a little surprised that Felipe seemed determined to bring her along. Did he pity her for not having a date to the prom? She wasn't even planning to go. Even though she already had a dress and she had been truly hoping Diego would show up so she could just ask him to go with her. No such luck on the latter front but her dress was stunning, she had to admit. Homemade of course and if Felipe was actually for real and asking her to prom then she could actually wear it.
She wasn't too fussed if Liz was actually Felipe's first choice date. She could always have fun with Felipe and find someone else to dance around with. Maybe she'd actually have fun and stop thinking about that dark haired junior for once.

"We-ell not so much as a date but... You can't go alone and I won't hear of you staying at home! This is your prom, Abby... You must be there! I will of course get you a corsage and a ticket if you don't have them already." The Sao Paolo boy was gallant to a fault... if somewhat dense at times.
"Look, Abby... I will be truthful. Yes, I am going with LizBeth but I don't see why you can't also come as our friend." He frowned slightly, correcting that statement. "My friend. And while I have no doubt what so ever that before 5 minutes have passed you will have boys forming a queue to dance with you there are sure to be plenty of them there without a date themselves."
He threw her a grin. "I always wanted to play at making matches."
"Match-making," she corrected a little absently.
"Match-making," he repeated. "What do you think? We can meet you there and make sure you aren't standing ina corner on your own but I can't see that as being even a remote possibility." Abby was a seriously attractive girl, after all, and surely LizBeth wouldn't mind if they kept her company for a while... would she?
No, he was positive it would be ok.
"What do you say, then? Are you willing to take a chance on finding a date at the dance and come with us?"

Abby laughed when the fellow Silver senior corrected her choice of word. "Oh prom is not a big deal." She waved her hand in a dismissal as she continued with her sandwich. "You want some chips?" she shook the bag at him. "Fel...seriously, you really don't-" she was cut short as Felipe continued to insist on her going, even as a friend. She couldn't deny that the idea was more appealing than staying at home to take care of her little siblings.
When she corrected him, she didn't even realise she had said it until he repeated it and her eyes went bugged out. "Oh Fel nooo....no no no and another no just so you get it through your thick albeit very cute head." She laughed. "And besides really...your girlfriend would not be pleased when you don't pay her undivided attention. Trust me. I've been there." Abby shook her head in amusement. The boy was too adorable. If he didn't have a girlfriend and if she didn't still harbour feelings for her ex-boyfriend, Felipe would have been her date for the prom no doubt.
Looking at him, Abby couldn't say no when he tried one last time. "Fine. But I'll get my own ticket and I'll get my own corsage and don't you dare come and find me more than once even if you see my standing in a corner on my own." She laughed, nudging him with her shoulder. With how they were sitting and at the slope they were on, Felipe could actually lose his balance.
"Seriously, you want my sandwich or not? Last offer."

Felipe took a chip when they were offered, determined that Abby should go to the prom. One way or another he'd get here there... short of physically carrying her to the event.
Nope... he'd even resort to that... Luckily he didn't need to as she finally agreed to go.
"Good... then it is settled. We will meet you there and make sue you aren't left alone... Not that you will be, of that I'm positive!" Who could fail to like her, after all?
He laughed when she nudged him and he somehow managed not to spill his soda down his shirt front. Abby seemed to have a thing about getting his shirts dirty as he could sense a trend happening!
"Your sandwich? Sure!" he replied. "Trade you for some of mine..." He offered Abby the bowl of rice, beans and chicken salad. Sandwiches were something of a rarity for him and he was keen to try Abby's one. Cheese and some sort of relish. "It's good," he told her. Far better than he'd honestly expected.
The pair settled back to finish their shared lunch, chatting amicably as they did so... and with Felipe wondering what LizBeth would say when he told her he'd talked Abby into going to the prom with them. Ok, not so much WITH them but not really withOUT them either.
She'd be ok with it... wouldn't she?

Abby rolled her eyes at her friend's insistence. Although he didn't know why he was actually so insistent. Didn't really make sense to her. She would have been happy with just getting lunch with the boy who made her laugh and not think of the silly dance. "Fel, I love your enthusiasm but I really don't mind being left alone." Abby smiled, patting his thigh a couple of times before passing the sandwich to him.
She laughed as Felipe tried to salvage his shirt from his soda. Abby really did have a thing about getting his shirt dirty. The boy just looked a bit too pristine for her liking. And quite over dressed too. She giggled to herself at the thought before taking some of his food. And rather liked it. "Yours is good too." Abby nodded in approval.
As they talked, Abby tried to stray the topic off prom and they managed to talk about Felipe and Liz, oddly enough. She highly doubted Liz would be fine with it. She would probably pout and make a fuss of it. Or if she thought herself subtle, she'd somehow delay Abby's arrival to the prom or actually buy a date for her so Felipe would spend the whole night with her. As he should of course but still...Felipe and Abby were such good companions. They had chemistry that didn't need to spark something else off.
But it would flatter Abby terribly so if Liz actually paid someone to be her date for the night. That thought made her giggle to herself. "So my dearest Brazilian charmer, however did you get hooked up with the Brit? I really never saw that coming."

"I have to admit it came as a surprise to myself," he addmitted. Abby knew something had happened that evening at the carnival and while Felipe hadn't gone into details she also knew it had been an argument of sorts between himself and LizBeth.
How HAD it happened? Felipe couldn't be sure exactly when he'd started to trust her again. And he did... At least, he thought he did. No, he was sure...
"I guess things happened without any actual cause or reason," he added. "But LizBeth isn't like she seems at first. She's not all bark," he reinforced with a wry smile. Maybe he'd never let her get to him in that way? The same way she seemed to like to try and get to most people. "And she's changed a lot since that day at the fair." He threw Abby a grin. "You might even get on with her now. Never know! I mean stranger things have been known to happen!"
Eden and Liz though... No, that was another story and he got the impression the rift between those two girls was far too wide to be ever breached. Same with Ben now as he would - and should - stand by his twin sister. A great shame as LizBeth obviously had thought highly of Ben at some time or another.
"Give her another chance," he urged. "Will you?"

Nodding in understanding when he too thought it was a surprise that they were together, Abby listened to Felipe's description of the brunette whose night Abby had practically ruined at the pier several weeks ago. When he mentioned the whole 'She isn't what she seems' bit, Abby bit back a laughter. In her experience, most relationships girls like Liz start are always not what it seems. It was pretty damn funny to her but actually pretty sweet of Felipe to think defend the girl.
But Abby really should keep her opinions to herself. Felipe was a sweet guy and if he trusts Liz, who was Abby to deter him from thinking so? His suggestion that they could get along made Abby bite back another laughter. "Yes, she would like that very much." Abby controlled her smile from widening too much. The boy's plea of giving the other brunette another chance had Abby raising an eyebrow. Well, Felipe was right on one thing. Abby was his friend. It shouldn't be too hard for her to at least give her the beenfit of the doubt for his sake.
"Hey, it's up to her really." Abby shrugged. "After I made a fool out of myself that night at the carnival, I don't know if she is willing to be friends anymore. But if she is then I'll go with it." Abby patted Felipe's knee. "You like her..." she wasn't sure if she should have fashioned it into a question or a statement. She didn't want to insult the boy.
