Addison nodded her head at his acceptance of her appearance and followed him off in the direction of his car. She wasn't sure scouting the school in the morning was her personal answer either but if it got too bad it wasn't a horrible idea and she would have to remember that as well.
" I am a cheerleader any other time you ask me. I figured though season is almost over I didn't wanna really fight the system to get in here so I am waiting til tryouts for next year. If by the time they roll around I still want to do it then I am into that I suppose. " she said as they reached his car and she stood to the side letting him get what he needed before they headed towards the pizza place he had been talking about.
" I am a good student but not a huge extracurricular book reader or anything. I love music, nothing really specifically genre wise more touch and go based on the bands or songs themselves . " she pulled her hair back up into a ponytail as they walked through the night.
" What about you? Into anything besides the water and introducing yourself to unsuspecting girls in random places?"

A cheerleader. Haden had nothing against cheerleaders. They provided pep and dance moves he was pretty sure were illegal in some countries. But collectively, the girls he had been with who were cheerleaders were quite vapid and insanely self-centred. And boring. Contrary to popular belief, Haden was actually quite smart. He wanted conversation when he hung out with people. Lily had fared well in that department despite being way too shy at first. She was pretty interesting too. So it wasn't much of a loss for Haden to have taken an interest in her.
Addison wasn't quite vapid either. She hadn't giggled the past half hour or so they've been talking. And she hadn't mentioned Twilight so that's good. The book that butchered any cool description of vampires in fiction was killing him. And if he had to hear one more squeal for Justin Timberlake, he would burst. So Addison was so far exceeding his expectations. Haden had to laugh at Addison's inaccurate albeit funny assumption of what Haden liked to do.
"As I recall, you introduced yourself first. And I hardly think you were unsuspecting and the beach isn't a random place. Did you not know this place is a hook up haven? You really are new." Haden grinned as he opened the door to the pizza parlor for Addison to get in first. "I don't have any favourites. I do love surfing though. And pizza." It was impersonal but no use getting too personal with her. No use getting personal at all, really. Let the girl do the talking.
"Enough about me. Besides cheerleading, what do you do with your free time? Besides thinking morbid thoughts about people pushing you off rocks that is." Haden ordered a slice of pepperoni and asked what Addison would like.

Haden was right, but although she may have technically introduced herself first he was the one who approached her. It had obviously been planned to some extent with extra soda in hand and all but it wasn't worth arguing the technicality.
Addison stepped into the pizza place first waiting for him to follow before searching around to find an open booth a bit away from the door and on the side of the building. There was a menu waiting shoved into one of those metal condiment holders at the back of the booth that she pulled out and slid one across to him.
" Firstly, I don't always think morbid thoughts just when they present themselves in certain situations. I try not to make a habit of it, death isn't a fun or pretty thing. " she flipped the menu over to the other side before continuing. " And besides cheer leading I don't really do anything else specifically. Visit some new places maybe, I love the beach, ummm, " she said pursing her lips a bit trying to find something interesting to tell him but she really didn't have much. " There isn't alot of horseback riding that I have found out here but that, photography. " she slid the menu back into the metal contraption and shook her head to the side.
" Sorry. I am kinda a boring person. Sit at home and watch movies when I have nothing else to do, play my music rather loudly at times. Do you know what you want? "

Laughing, Haden shrugged as he also ordered a bottle of root beer. "You're not boring." Which was partially true. Besides, it was their first meeting. Can hardly give away anything in the first meeting. "If you were, I wouldn't have bothered asking you if you wanted to eat with me." Which was also partially true. He would do a lot just to get a girl to accompany him for dinner but he drew the line if the girl was too boring. Or too obnoxious. He really didn't like obnoxious girls.
"I have the pepperoni pizza. What about you?" he asked. He tugged at the shirt he had taken from his car and looked at Addison. "I'll let you decide first. I'm going to go and choose some tunes." Haden slid out of the booth and went to the jukebox in the corner. Sliding a quarter in, he chose a Sinatra classic and went back in time for his slice to come over. "I take it you've ordered?" He asked, not touching his pizza. He was a gentleman first and foremost and that meant he had to wait until Addison got her slice of pizza first.

Addison nodded as she watched Haden slide out of the booth and go towards the juke box. She knew what she was getting, she had gotten the same thing for ever so she never really understood why she looked the menu over completely before just getting it.
" Pepperoni and jalepeno, " she said pizza already sitting in front of her as he came back and the sound of music started playing from the speakers behind them. She definitely wouldn't have pegged him to play Sinatra , although honestly she wasn't sure what she would have pegged him for. Maybe something a bit hard rock or metal, Bullet for my Valentine, Rage Against the machine type or even alternative even but not this. It was pleasantly surprising.
" This, " she said pointing up to the air in an attempt to indicate the song playing, " is kind of surprising. What kind of music do you really listen to?" she asked him picking off a pepper and sliding it into her mouth.

"Interesting choice." Haden would have thought she was the vegetarian lover kind of girl so her choice was interesting. The girl liked to eat. And from the looks of what she was wearing, she knew exactly how to burn it right off. That actually turned him on. Girls who were healthy always were a turn on for him. And if they had a face like Addison's, well bonus points for sure. He grinned before holding his pizza up in a mock toast. "To interesting choices." He took a bite and decided it needed chilli flakes and of course, more cheese.
Her question made him chuckle lightly. "Like I said, I don't have favourites." Haden shrugged. "But who doesn't like the classics, no?" He cocked his head slightly to the left, grinning at the brunette sitting across from him. "And besides, I like keeping people on their toes." He proceeded. "You can never be too predictable with new people." Which he never was. The fact that he lied alot was an indication. Not that people have ever found out about him lying, of course.
"How's the pizza? You want another one?" He signaled for the waiter to get him one more, asking them to make it extra hot. The chilli flakes just wasn't doing anything. "And for you?" the waiter asked, facing Addison. "Just get anything you want." He patted his pants for his wallet and was satisfied to find it was still on him. Not that he had any problems with being robbed. But it would be embarrassing if he had to have it done when he was out with a girl.
Which wasn't technically what was happening with this girl. They just happened to bump into each other and eat at the same place.

" The pizza is great, " she replied. Addison thought his offer to get anything she wanted was sweet enough but she wasn't really sure there was a whole lot else she wanted. Not another piece of pizza but maybe some bread sticks and marinara she thought as she turned to the waitress and placed a small order for them.
" Not everyone likes classics. But keeping people on their toes I can agree with, keeps things interesting. If you can't be spontaneous things get boring really fast sometimes. " she had learned that all to many times. It wasn't so much all the time but it always seemed like the same thing over and over again could kill anything, a relationship, a friendship, you had to learn to think outside the box sometimes. Even just doing something you don't normally do once in a while kept things fresh and interesting.
" So00o any suggestions on places I should check out or things to do around here then? I suppose if you have been here forever you would know the best of everything." she said as the waitress brought back his second pizza and her bread sticks and marinara. Addison made sure to thank her before turning her attention back to Haden.

Shrugging at her comment, Haden nodded slowly. "I suppose you're right. Not everyone can appreciate good music these days." He was starting to genuinely like Addison. Mostly because she agreed with his views. She seemed smart and probably wouldn't fall for his charms too much. Then again, it wouldn't hurt for him to try. The most he would get out of it was her rejection. It wasn't like he wasn't know to take a hint. If she said no then it meant no.
Her question brought a laugh from the dark haired junior who shook his head. "You got me. I could try and draw you a map but...what good would that do? I might as well take you on the tour myself, don't you think?" He suggested with a grin before biting into his pizza. It was then that his phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and saw that it was his mother. He looked up at Addison and smile apologetically. "Do you mind? I have to take this call." Excusing himself, he slipped out of the booth and answered the call away from the future cheerleader.
"Yes mom? Yes, I'm at the beach like I told you. I'm eating yes. No I'm not alone. No, it's no one you know. No it's not the girl I'm taking to the prom. Yes Lily, mom. Yes mom. I'll be back as soon as possible. Yes mom. Yes, oh come...okay...I love you too. Goodbye." He slipped his phone in his pocket and returned to the booth he had been occupying. "I'm so sorry to cut this short but my mother needs me home." He shrugged as he polished his pizza off. "I'll walk you to your car?" He offered as he waved for the waiter to come so he could pay. Once that was settled, he turned to Addison expectantly. "I promise I won't jump you," Haden grinned.

" I would have to agree. I have my GPS but that would only be beneficial if I got lost since we don't have addresses around town. " she agreed. A map would probably only get her more lost then anything. It wasn't that she was incapable of reading a map, it was more so the size of the area and the number of streets she was bound to miss something along the way.
Addison dipped a bread stick into the marinara taking a bite as Haden pulled his cell phone from his pocket and stepped away to take the call. She watched his face as he talked, it was sort of a mixed expression of annoyance and understanding she thought. It made it hard to tell what might be going on or who it was, not that it was her business in the first place. She had a bad habit of trying to read people though. She hated not knowing what they were thinking, what was going on. She smiled as he slid back into the booth across from her.
" O, yeah of course. " Addison knew how the parent phone calls went and was actually surprised they hadn't called to figure out her where abouts yet. She would give them credit though, it seemed like lately they were a little bit more trusting of her which she liked. Watching him take out his wallet and pay she felt a bit off, she was used to paying for her part of the meal when she went out with friends, it was just the way things were for her. She slid to the edge of her booth and laughed.
" I guess if you PROMISE, " she emphasized, " then yeah, it would be nice if you would walk me to my car and make sure no one else jumped me. " she let out a small laugh trying to be semi humorous. In all reality she had never been out after dark in the area though so she wasn't sure whether she should actually be afraid of something like that happening or not.
