Addison had found herself in an empty house after school and used the time to catch up on some of the back homework teachers gave her. She didn't have alot but there was a paper due the following week in one of her classes that the rest of the students had the opportunity to start on a week or so before. That was the biggest catch up she would have to do, the rest was just a few simple book assignments.
After changing herself into a pair of running shorts and a t shirt Addison pulled on her running shoes. The clouds that had brought a few light drizzles that morning while she was in class had rolled out finally. It felt nice out as she slid into her car and headed out towards the pier for an evening run.
The sand underneath her feet as she ran down the water line felt somehow different then the beaches she had been to before but oddly familiar as well. She had never been someone who ran every night religiously but when it was nice out she enjoyed the time and sometimes stayed a while on the beach before heading back to the house. As she reached the end of her stretch of beach near the pier about to turn around and go back the other way she decided instead to walk out onto some of the near by rocks and take a seat instead.

When he heard about the wicked surf for the evening, Haden of course did not waste any time in rushing over immediately after his last class and he spent hours and hours in the water until the sun disappeared behind the horizon. He jogged back to the sand to find his things. Burying the end of the surfboard into the sand, he bent down and collected his things. Standing up, he eyed a person over near the rocks. A person of the female persuasion.
Momentarily wondering what Lily would do if she caught him with another girl, Haden laughed to himself. She's just a girl. A girl who was probably swooning over the thought of him bringing her to the prom. Oh she'll have to deal. It's not like Haden would bring this unknown girl to prom anyway. He just wanted to chat her up, make her feel good...maybe make him feel good.
He kept his shirt off and went to buy two drinks from a nearby stall before walking over to the person. A closer inspection had Haden smiling. She was pretty hot. "Girl like you shouldn't be out here alone. People with misguided intentions might take advantage of it." He grinned before joining her, handing her a can of soda while popping open his own.

Addison let her thoughts fall over the rocks and into the water as she started considering letting herself like being here. It was never that she didn't like a place , it is just always hard to get herself established again with new friends, on a new squad. Power struggles weren't really her thing and when you had new girls on a team it usually was immediate.
Hearing a voice behind her she turned to see a shirtless guy walking up behind her two soda's in his hand and offering her one. Taking one she smiled and shrugged her shoulders popping open her own soda and leaning back on the rocks.
" A girl like me? " she said taking a drink and finding a flat spot to hold the can beside her. She wasn't really sure what kind of girl he meant but it wasn't something that really concerned her too much. " I can hold my own, I think my biggest concern would be someone sneaking up behind me and pushing me off. " she looked over the edge thinking what kind of a fall that would be. Something probably survivable unless you hit the other rocks on the way down.
Turning back to the boy beside her smiled again. " Thanks for the drink by the way. I'm Addison. "

"Morbid," Haden chuckled as he took a sip from his own can. He stretched and looked out at the waves. "Nah, I hardly think anyone would do that. At least unless they were blind. They'd probably take one good look at you and decide to jump off themselves." He shrugged and took a long drag from his can. When she introduced herself, Haden turned his body slightly and held a hand out. "Pleasure is all mine. I'm Haden."
Turning back to the sea that was starting to turn pitch black, Haden wondered what Lily was doing and if she was already frantic about finding a dress. She'd already texted her address to him earlier. She was probably going nuts with shopping. But knowing Lily, she was probably frantic about actually going shopping. She seemed more at home in jeans and a tank top than anything. He actually found himself pretty excited to see what she would come up with at the last minute.
"So I've never seen you in school. You are a high school student right? New in town? Or...another school perhaps?" He asked, looking at her sideways. He would know if she was a Gould student. But with the merge, he was having a hard time remembering who was who. It wouldn't really be a surprise if she actually was a Silver student.

Addison couldn't help but spit out a nice big laugh when he said that her comment was morbid and someone would probably jump off themselves after seeing her.
" What are you trying to say? " she knew he didn't mean anything bad, the way he worded it just sounded bad. Unless a person was blind they would see her and jump themselves. It could be taken a number of ways for that matter.
With the remainder of the light that was left as the sun disappeared behind the horizon Addison looked Hayden over. He was definitely good looking, a bit of a mysterious bad boy edge to him, but she wasn't about to assume anything. She got herself in a lot of trouble sometimes doing that without truly having any basis for her assumptions.
" Today was actually my first day. I am a sophomore, we just moved in from Texas. We have been here a week or so but my parents let me wait and get my things in order before coming to classes." It had been a rather huge surprise to her since usually they moved over the weekend and that Monday she was in class bright and early. It was just the way they had always been, never wanted her to get much further behind then she had to.
" What about you? Been here your whole life? Or just a good part of it? "

Her laugh was rather pleasant and Haden couldn't help but smile. At least she had a sense of humor. "All I'm trying to say is you're beautiful. What, nobody's said that to you before?" He grinned and placed his can beside him. "That can't be the case though. I refuse to believe that." He shook his head in amusement.
When she admitted to being new, Haden nodded. "You move around a lot?" Haden personally had never experienced moving. At least not that he could remember. As far as he was concerned, Hollywood had been home. And he liked home. He traveled a lot, sure but he never stayed any longer than a summer overseas. So the thought of moving wasn't something he was willing to experience just yet.
So it wasn't much of a stretch when he answered, "Born and raised." He shrugged. "Can't imagine being anywhere else but here. How are you liking here so far?"

Addison wasn't honestly sure anyone had ever told her that besides her parents. Not in those words anyways. It was more flattering then any of the other terms people used. Not that it was horrible to hear she was hott, or good looking, or whatever phrases there were it was just different.
" My dad is a Marine." she stated simply enough figuring she would have to explain her moving situation to nearly anyone she met. Hopefully though this was their last stop on the moving train and she could settle in with some new friends and finish high school in one place. Haden though had been here his whole life, she wondered what that was like sometimes, to never have to be the one to leave. She never regretted it though. Moving had given her amazing opportunities and she had seen so many beautiful and exotic places.
" I like it. The schools a bit bigger then what I am used to but I suppose I will learn my way around. " She looked out as the dark was almost completely over them and the only light now was what was behind them away from street lamps and the sort, store fronts in the distance.
" I suppose we should probably make our way off the rocks before its pitch black out here and we can't see." She realized she made the assumption that he would want to leave the rocks, maybe he came out here after dark, who was she to know. She just knew she didn't trust herself to find her way over the dips and cracks in the rocks without falling flat on her face after dark.

"An army brat," Haden chuckled, meaning nothing by it. He obviously didn't know what it meant to be an army man's son. So far, Addison seemed perfectly fine like a normal teenager should. So it probably didn't mean much, being an army brat. "That means you move around a lot, right?" he questioned the girl. That seemed like such a nuisance to Haden. But it did open up the possibility of getting with girls in different countries. That appealed to Haden. He hid the smirk about to make a permanent mark on his face.
"The school isn't so bad. I could definitely show you around, have you get a feel of the place where you'll be spending most of your week days...dreadfully enough." Laughing, Haden bumped Addison's shoulders to make it known that he was joking. School was school. He rather enjoyed it because it's only four years of his life before the real fun began anyway. And the girls weren't all that bad if he did say so himself.
Her suggestion got Haden nodding. "You want to get something to eat?" He asked. When she agreed, Haden got up and successfully climbed off the rocks only to turn around to help Addison. "Don't forget your soda can." Haden jerked his head in the can's direction and held out a hand for Addison to take.

" I have lived in North Carolina, Britain, Hawaii, Texas and now here. So I suppose I have moved around a lot. I don't really know any different though. " Addison explained. She figured she hadn't really needed to list her history to him but might as well.
When Haden offered to show her around the school she kinda gave him an eye. She sort of knew where her classes were but maybe if she knew the school as a whole and all the different paths she could take it would help her from getting lost. " If I don't try and figure it out on my own I may have to take you up on that offer one day soon before I get suspended from tardiness."
Addison had been a bit caught off guard when he asked her to eat but she obliged. She wasn't exactly dressed for a restaurant, her sweatshirt even was back at the car but she supposed if he wanted to be seen with her all a mess it was his prerogative. She would have forgotten the soda can had he not mentioned it making her turn around and carefully bend over to retrieve it and taking his hand to climb quickly down the rocks.
" My car with any clothes or anything in it though is down that way about a mile though. " she said pointing off into the distance. She wouldn't have parked so far but she hadn't originally planned on sight seeing on the rocks, or for that matter getting asked to go eat.

He vacationed in Britain and Hawaii but he would never think of living there. Sure it's pretty awesome to be surfing all day and chatting up girls who think his American accent is absolutely fetching but really, he was quite at home in Hollywood. "That sounds cool," which in truth really didn't. Haden wasn't about to say that of course. No use getting on a girl's bad side so early into the acquaintance.
"Or you could get to school really early and just scout the place." Haden suggested in a teasing manner. Her acceptance didn't really come as too much of a surprise to Haden and as they walked to where he had his stuff, Haden shook his head and waved his hand in dismissal at her worry about clothes. "You look fine to me. There's a pizza parlour five minutes from here. I like pizza." He shrugged as he picked his stuff up. "Let me just load my car and we'll walk down to the place." He motioned to where his car was and they walked towards it.
"You into anything right now? Music, books, sports?" He wasn't genuinely interested but girls liked it when guys showed interest in what they liked so he figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
