Kenzie sat on the bonet of his car waiting for the lady in question to show up, this was the best place to meet that didn't lead to questions from either set of parents. His parents would want to know everything about the girl then embarrass him by insisting on the door being open so they kniow that nothing was happening in the room. Like that would happen in his bedroom while they were in the house, it would be more than embarrassing if his fathers walked in on something like that. And Lana's parents and brother if truth be told, that was a whole different kettle of fish, how they would react when they learned of Lana dating him was any body's guess.
Kenzie didn't mind this to much though, he could handle anything that her family could throw at him. Kenzie sipped on the can of coke in his hand smiling as he watched the ocean waves. He was enjoying the last of the sun rays for the day while he waited for Lana. He didn't have to worry about his parents wondering where he was, they would call some time soon to ask him when he was coming home.

Lana had pretty much been forced to tell her parents that she was going to the library for a few hours in order to get out of the house. She hated having to lie, but she just did not want to deal with her parents arguments and Blake's bitching. She just wanted to have a normal life, be a normal girl and do normal things. Like dating Kenzie. they'd met about two months prior when he had enrolled in Silver, literally running into each other at their lockers. They'd hit it off pretty well after laughing about it. She'd had to hide the truth each time they had gone out, not wanting to deal with her family's accusations.
She'd slung her backpack over her shoulder, dressed in a short white skirt and pink shirt, ballet flats on her feet and her hair loose, and left the house. Telling them she was going to the library would keep them from checking up on her at least. Lana drover over toward the beach. She spotted Kenzie's car and parked just a little way from it, just in case anyone got curious. She walked over, climbing carefully up on the hood of the car. "Hey.." She smiled.

Kenzie smiled at Lana, "Hey their pretty lady." Kenzie said tipping his imaginary hat at her with a laugh. "I see you brought a bag with you, I take it that means you had to give your parents a lame excuse to get out of the house or was it your brother that you had to give the excuse to." Kenzie said to Lana with a shake of the head. "I thought I had enough drama watching days of your life, but apparently not." Kenzie said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders placing a kiss to Lana's lips.
Kenzie had had a long day and he was tired but he was more than happy to see the girl in question, he had managed to get out of the house and knew that he was in for very little sleep in the house so he thought about sleeping in the garage or his car maybe that way he could get some undisturbed sleep. He could live in hope but he doubted that his parents would allow that mind you but it would be worth a try.
"How's your evening been?" he asked her with a smile on his lips.

Lana smiled at the very Texan greeting that she was given, his accent drawing up all sorts of images. Kenzie riding bareback on a strong horse to him roping some bull by the horns. "Yeah, I didn't want any of them thinking I was sneaking off to meet a guy." She smiled, scooting up a bit closer as he wrapped an arm around her. She smiled into the kiss, returning it gently. It was nice having a boyfriend, it really was. She liked Kenzie..a lot.
If Blake didn't have any idea that they were dating, her brother was either completely blind or dead. Lana and Kenzie spent most of their out of class time together, lockers, lunch, any chance they got. They'd made plans to meet up tonight earlier in the day, so creating the cover story had been easy.
She leaned into her guy, resting her head on his shoulder. "Quiet, grabbed a quick dinner, blew through my homework, lied to my family." She grinned. "You look tired..brother still not letting you sleep much?" She felt bad that his newborn sibling was causing the shadows beneath Kenzie's eyes.

Kenzie smiled, "At this point I am considering moving into a flat or something so I can get some sleep." Kenzie said to her, he was a light sleeper and he seemed to wake up every time his brother woke up. Ear plugs were just uncomfortable and a pillow just did nothing to distort the noise of his brothers screams. "I never realised that a baby could scream that loudly, seriously it goes right through you. If I ever have kids, I am ordering one that cries quietly or better yet not at all." Kenzie said rubbing his eyes. "I'm so dosed up on pro plus and red bull at this point, I am pretty sure I could fail a drugs test done by the police." Kenzie added with a laugh.
Kenzie looked around them before looking back at Lana, "So what do you want to do, just kick our shoes of and leave them in the car. Take a walk on the beach maybe grab an ice cream from somewhere, this is LA after all there has to be somewhere that does ice cream or hamburgers near to the beach if not on it." he said to Lana. "And some coffee I definitely I need some coffee or a hotel room with a shower that matches mine and a bedroom that isn't down the wing from my brothers screaming in the middle of the night." Kenzie said to her. "I love the little tyke but I'd love my sleep right now to." Kenzie added.

Lana gave Kenzie a sympathetic look. She felt so bad for him. She'd babysat enough infants to know that they had no set sleep pattern, woke up any time they wanted it and had lungs the size of airships. He looked just plain flat worn out. Poor guy. She nuzzled his shoulder with her jaw lightly, an idea forming in her head.
"Yeah, walking the beach sounds good, sand should be cool enough by now." She agreed. "I'm sure there is plenty of food..and coffee up the boardwalk..." Lana slid off the hood of the car and moved between Kenzie's knees, her hands resting on his thighs. "I've got some money saved up from babysitting and stuff...I'm gonna rent you a motel room for the night..you gotta get some sleep...you driving in LA traffic on no sleep scares me..and don't tell me I'm not allowed to do it..cause I'm gonna."

Kenzie looked at her incredulously as he looked behind him at his car, "Lana not to point out the flaw in that wonderful plan, but I need to point out for a fact that if I needed to check into a hotel I'm good for the money." Kenzie said with a smile on his face. "That said thank you for offering." he said smiling. No matter how silly the idea may have been to the boy who had literally everything he ever wanted to have, he saw it as a good thing that said girl would offer that to him. "Keep your money and be prepared to you know spend it on something for yourself." Kenzie said to her as he pulled his leg up and undid the laces on his trainers then did the same with the other shoe removing his socks last.
"Don't get to close to them, you may just fall over dead from the smell of them." Kenzie said to Lana with a grin on his face. "Come on if your lucky I might give you a piggy back down the beach." Kenzie said to Lana with a smile as he stood up and walked to his side of the car opening the car he tossed his trainers into the foot well. "You know what they call these things!" he asked holding up his car keys. "No kidding they call them mood keys or something close to it." Kenzie added.

Lana smiled up at him, having already figured that he would not take her offer for a hotel room for the night. "It's not the money issue, I know you can afford it. I just wnated to do something nice." She answered, scooting back a foot or so to allow him room to get his sneakers off without moving off the hood of the car.
"Eh, they aren't that bad.." Lana spoke, and then pretended to gag, clutching her throat and dramatically falling over against the car, trying not to laugh. "Yes...piggy me!" She grinned, looking over at him. "Mood keys? here I thought they were just keys..what makes yours mood?" She asked, straightening up and pushing long blond hair out of her face.

Kenzie laughed, "Its a piece of plastic that goes into the dashboard, its not actually a key as such. It is pretty nifty when you first get the car, but it soon gets very dull when you have had it for a while. A novelty which has worn of since I got the car, love my car however. Not sure what I am going to do in the summer, I may have to hiar a truck or 4x4 to go to my mothers place." Kenzie said with a smile it was something that he was looking forward to for sure, summer was here and in a few short days he would be where he belonged enjoying the start of summer.
"I only have to get through the next week or so with my brother, hopefully before I get back to LA he is sleeping most of the way through the night." Kenzie said sounding hopeful. "I may check into a hotel though, I could use a very good nights sleep." Kenzie said with a nod he didn't like people paying his way, not when he could do it himself, he felt like it was taking an advantage of people and that was bad.
"If you want to get out of state for the summer, I think I can persuade my mothers to have you at the ranch. It wouldn't be that hard a sell for mom, she would drag you out shopping when ever possible. You may get bored to death on the subject of horses and cattle mind you but your enjoy it." Kenzie said to her.
"Hamburgers or ice cream are on whoever gets to the vendor first." Kenzie told her with a wicked smile.

Lana mock glared at him as he was playfully mocking her, and he was answered with a sticking out of her tongue. "I'll go with you if you wanna go truck shopping or something sometime." She offered. "Why rent a truck and not just buy it?" She asked. "I mean..you can use the truck for more then just running out to your moms' place though..I mean..we couldn't go like..camping or anything in our cars." Lana carefully pulled off her flats and tossed them in the front seat of the car, making sure they landed on the floor and not the seat itself.
She gave him a smile when he said he only needed to make it another week or so with his baby brother. "Just let me know where you are so I can call and not bug your parents..either set." She told him.
Lana looked at him as he started talking about summer break. "I'd love to get away for the summer actually." She answered quickly. Away from her father and blake fighting non stop? Yes please. She laughed at the thought of his moms dragging her out shopping. "Oh..I barely shop now..Id go with them but i doubt Id get anything myself." She grinned.
"Hey..wait...you promised me a piggy back!" Lana reminded him, walking over and jumping up on his back, wrapping her arms and legs around him carefully. "We can go get both..you get a burger and I'll get icecream!"
