Addison finally got her class schedule and made her way back out into the now much quieter halls of the new school. The clock on the wall in the office told her there was only two minutes for her to get to her first class, not leaving her much room for error when trying to find it in the maze of halls. If someone had been in the halls she could have asked but they were empty in every direction only making it at least easier to read the room numbers as she searched.
The school itself was huge, bigger then a few she had been too, almost overwhelmingly so. The bland white walls were lined in most places with lockers, others with colorful flyers containing school announcements and posters about the upcoming prom.
By the time the first bell rang she was already late and pulled herself through the door just as it ended. Handing her slip to the teacher she took a seat as far back as she possibly could given an empty desk and pulled out her notebook quietly.
Before Addison realized what time it was lunch was upon her and it wasn't until then she realized how hungry she actually was. Listening to the bell ring she waited for everyone else to leave the room before picking her things up and following closely behind the pack of students. Finally finding her locker again she shovied her things inside and removed her wallet from her book bag not knowing whether she would have to pay for lunch or not. Then she eagerly started off in search of her next destination. . . . food.

Mikasi came out of his last class before lunch with a smile on his face, happy to be out of class and walking with classmates to their lockers. He planned on having a good dose of lunch before going to do some weights, maybe he should have done the latter first but his stomach was grumbling so food was a priority. Mikasi opened the door to his locker grabbing his bag he slammed it close locking it.
He was so happy to be out of class that he didn't notice the girl coming the other way and slammed into her at full pace, sending himself to his ass. 'Oh great, thats all I need.' he groaned mentally as he stood back up to see the damage that he had done to the other person blushing to see that it was a girl. 'I knocked a girl on her ass.' he groaned. 'Does this have a better ending.' he asked himself.
"I am so sorry." he said holding his hand down to help the girl up of the floor. "I am not a complete cluts but I wasn't looking where I was going." his stomach growled as if to punctuate what he was actually thinking about. "I'm Mikasi." he added.

Addison pulled her cell phone from her pocket double checking to make sure no one had called while it was hidden in her pocket during class. Paying more attention to the phone in her hand then where she was going she didn't realize she was about to collide with someone til she was laying on the floor looking for her cell phone again hoping no one stepped on it.
Growling a little under her breath as she pushed a hair out of her face Addison found her phone and grabbed it looking up to see the boy she had ran into offering her a hand. Taking it quickly she helped pull herself up running a hand over the phones screen realizing it had been shattered. Shoving it back into her pocket she realized how hard it was probably going to be to explain this one and get a new phone out of her parents.
" Don't worry about it. " she shrugged her shoulders lightly. " I honestly was probably at fault. I was too busy with my phone to pay attention to where I was going. " she looked at him for a minute taking him in.
Realizing her face was probably still stuck in a scowl from finding her phone in it's condition she shook her head as if to shake it off and gave him a warm smile.
" I am sorry. I'm Addison."

Mikasi laughed, "I think I was being lead by my stomach in the direction of the cafeteria." he said with a smile as he pushed his hair out of his eyes to look at her properly. "Nice to meet you Addison." he said smiling brightly. He hid the embarrassment that he felt at his clumsiness behind the smile on his face. "I hope their isn't to much damage to your phone or you for that matter." he said he had no idea how he would be able to pay for any damage he had done to the girls personal belongings, if the girl demanded that he did so.
'Oh man dad would be pissed.'
"Are you headed to the lunch room, maybe I can buy you a soda as a way of saying sorry for the mess I helped to create in the first place?" he asked politely. He didnt know the girl one iota but he thought the least he could do is buy Addison a soda as it was the best that he could do under the circumstances.
He'd been here a while now and while he thought he knew most of the people in his year group of importance anyway, he didn't know Addison was she in the same year or above him maybe even below him. Who knew but now was as good a time to find out maybe.

Addison thought about the phone hiding in her pocket and made a rash decision to not worry him about it's current broken state. There was no reason he could have to pay for it when she was likely honestly the one at fault.
" No. It is fine. " she said shaking it off once again.
She looked at the clock again as the precious minutes in their lunch hour went ticking by. When he offered her a soda she figured more then anything it might be nice to have at least one familiar face around the school, and she really didn't know where she was going anyways so why waste more time .
" That sounds like a fair deal. But I have no idea where we are going " she said sort of embarrassingly so he knew she would be more tagging along beside him then walking with him. Things like that she always found a bit more awkward with or without a warning.
When they started in what she assumed was the direction of the cafeteria she piped up again not wanting him to think she was a completely silent weirdo except when you crashed into her.
" How long have you been here?"

Mikasi laughed, "Don't worry I'm sure it will all change again, then neither of us will know where we are going or what we are looking for for that matter." Mikasi said to her with a shake of the head. "I liked back home it wasn't so manic, here is fun and hot like the whole year round or something." Mikasi said with a grin. "The cafeteria is just down the hall I think." he said looking around to get a feel for where they were in the school.
"I've been here a month now, still get lost though." Mikasi explained as he caught his bearings. "I'm like 80% certain that the cafeteria is that way and not far from here." he said to Addison with a smile. "I guess thats better than ten percent, not as confident as I should be. I know what I should do, is let my nose lead the way like a sniffer dog. My mom says I have a nose for food, or is that trouble I can never remember which." he said with a shrug.
"How about you, how long have you been here? I'm guessing your pretty new but then so am I." he asked.

When Mikasi told her he thought the cafeteria was in the direction they were headed she had a hunch he hadn't been there long either. A hunch that was only solidified when he told her he had only been there about a month.
" Well I guess we will figure it out together. They asked if I wanted a map at the front desk, I probably should have taken it instead of trying to memorize where all my classes were and leaving it. " she said laughing realizing it was probably something that could have made her first day in the new school alot easier.
They turned another corner revealing the cafeteria just up the hall and she smiled. " Apparently your mother was right and you should be a little more confident." She looked around as they entered the large cafeteria. She supposed there was probably a common's area outside or something as well where students ate but the expansiveness allowed for more then plenty of students.
" Oh." Addison exclaimed quietly realizing she had forgotten to inform him how long she had been attending. " This is actually my first day if I wasn't that obvious."

Mikasi nodded, "Well it makes sense now, welcome to the school. I've been here over a month and to be honest with you I get lost still even after a month. This place is huge compared to my last school, but then again most schools would be." he admitted with a shrug as they stepped into the cafeteria. "Oh man I could eat a horse at this point, but I think I'll settle for a burger and chips or something. If you are able to, trust me from tomorrow you want to make your own arrangements for lunch. How these guys can pass of the food in here as fit for Human comsumption is a mystery." Mikasi said to her.
"But then if you kind of ignore the rubberness of the food, then it isn't so bad." he explained. "I have brought in pack lunchs most days but I had errands to run today so I will have to go with the school lunches." Mikasi said to Addison.
"You get used to this place though, I find it strange that I have to share my locker and a school with another school. Its like completely weird to have to do that. But its only for a little while longer, I am going home for the summer soon when I can see all my friends and family. Hopefully when we come back for the next school year this mess will be sorted out and I won't have to share a locker with some one else." Mikasi said with a shudder.
"So where are you from, or have you transfered from another city school?" he asked her.

If Mikasi had been there a month and was still learning his way around Addison felt hopeless. Now at least there were a few familiar faces to help her get the layout memorized, and if nothing else she could find a way to shove her friendly self on a few more people if it was to make her life easier. Apparently the new school was supposed to be ready the beginning of their Junior year though, that would mean learning another new school.
" I guess I will just have to take your word for it. I don't usually eat cafeteria food anyways." she said as they approached the food counter taking a tray and moving steadily in the forward direction. After paying for her meal they moved in the direction of a table, taking a seat, and then opening her water.
" I was born in North Carolina. I moved here from Texas though. " Addison took a drink letting it slowly run down the back of her throat before explaining her circumstances a little bit better. " My dad is a Marine. We have lived all over the place, Texas, North Carolina, Hawaii, Britain to name a few. He is reserve out of San Diego though and drives for his exercises. Sometimes he has to stay a while and we just stay here." She was kinda impartial. It was nice to feel like they might stay somewhere for a while but she also knew that reserve meant nothing, the military did what they wanted and could call him back at any minute, especially the Marines.
" You said something about the schools being combined right now? What happened there?" she was curious. She had heard a few rumors but never really asked about it, now was as good a time as ever she supposed.
