“If you prefer you can come over to my place after school... I mean, if Spencer is being a tyrant,” he added with a grin. “Maybe by then you will even be able to eat something more solid and could stay for a meal?” Of course she would have to run it past her guardian as Felipe wasn’t about to risk getting on Spencer’s bad side.
“You would like to go off the grounds perhaps?” He had a feeling LizBeth didn’t really want to be a part of a crowd... Not when that might mean either talking or being jostled accidentally. “The weather forecast had decreed possibly some rain but it’s still quite warm... We could go and sit beneath the pier if you think you are up to that? Of course, you are more than welcome to share anything I have but... “ He peered at her. “I expect you can’t really eat yet, can you?”
Liz shook her head and Felipe offered her another few words of sympathy. Hopefully lunch would cheer her up a little and if not? Then some gentle kisses might just do the trick!
“I have to go,” he added. “My next class is almost all the way back across the school once again.” He threw her a wry smile. “Maybe I should have thought about that and taken my other books earlier, heh? But then I wouldn’t have seen you, would I?”

Liz smiled, despite the numbness in half of her face. If Felipe had not been here today, she would have honestly put up more of a fight with Spencer about going back to the house after her appointment. But her Brazilian made it worthwhile, and the next words out of his mouth were even better. "I doubt he wil even be there when I get out of school honestly.." She replied, her eyes lighting up as Fefe invited her to dinner. The smile brightened even more and she almost bounced in happiness. She'd been over to his house for a meal or two over the past few weeks, and had met his family. They were fantastic, warm and loving, and his mother...what a fantastic cook!
"Ooh...do you think we can sweet talk your mamma into the salmao da consuelo?" She asked, recalling the grilled salmon dish from the last time. "Or maybe her fieojoada?" The Brit's fingers tightened more into his shirt, almost digging into his skin as she almost started drooling right then and there. "Do you think she may have any of her lovely bolo prestigio leftover?" Liz asked, then paused. "I should stop before you think that I only like you for your mother's cooking!" She giggled softly. It was very much not true. Liz like Felipe for so many reasons, the plus side that he had a wonderful family was just icing on a very delicious cake.
He suggested going to sit under the pier for lunch, and while Liz shook her head at not really being able to eat too much, she knew she'd have to try something at least. Maybe some applesauce or yogurt? She'd ask to stop by a corner mart on the way out. She loved how she was able to feel more...free with him. Unrestrained by the pressures of her life, the neverending need to remain proper and perfect. Most students saw an icy cold bitch, but Fefe got to see much deeper into her.
"Mine is that way as well..I'm just going to show the dentist note and walk in, they can either accept my lateness or kiss my perfect arse." She smiled. "Im happy that you were lazy and didn't take all your books with you...but I'd have tracked you down at lunch if you hadn't been here.." She told him, pulling back slightly so that she could find his hand, entwining her fingers with his so that they could walk to their next classes.

“I’m sure my mom would prepare you anything you wanted,” Felipe assured her as they walked to their various classes but finally they had to part ways... for the time being at least...
* * * The lunch bell sounded and before it had finished its final chime Felipe Luis Vila Nova was on his way to his locker. Lunch wasn’t for a great deal of time and he intended making the most of every minute available.
Books and such like were thrown inside his locker and he scooped up his lunch, only then turning to look for LizBeth...
The corridor was bustling - as expected - but, as yet, there was no sign of her. Perhaps she’d been delayed? Or had felt even more unwell? Whatever the reason he’d wait until she arrived....

Liz had made it through her first class ok. She'd flashed her note at the teacher, took her seat and at least attempted to pay attention. More then once, she'd felt herself sort of drifting off, staring at the clock, which went blurry a couple of times. When the bell rang, Liz packed up her bag quickly and damn near bolted out of the classroom. Class was alright, but she had a lunchdate with a hot Brazilian. Speaking of which, she needed to let Spencer know that she would not be home after school and probably well into the evening. With the noise of all the students rustling around in the halls, Liz had to step outside one of the doors.
Pulling her mobile out of her purse, Liz called her lawyer and guardian. "Spencer..it's Elizabeth.." She spoke, though with the swelling in her mouth, her voice was muffled. "Alright I suppose...wearing off..gonna try to eat something for lunch.." She went quiet as she listened. "No actually, I'm going to go over to Felipe's for the afternoon and dinner.." She smiled, obviously liking what was being said on the other end of the line. "I will call you later, but I am sure Felipe will bring me home later." After another moment, Liz hung up, shoving the cell back into her purse.
She walked back into the busy hallway and began walking quickly toward the hall where their lockers. Spotting Fefe, she walked over, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind. "I am all yours for the evening, Spencer cleared tonight over at yours." She kissed the middle of his back before slipping around and looking up at him from the front. "Lunch?" she asked him.

Felipe turned as soon as he felt her presence (the hug and kiss against his spine helped) and LizBeth performed a similar action so that the pair were soon face to face. “He’s ok with it? He grinned. “Fantástico! Did he say what time you need to be back?”
Liz shook her head.
“Even better. We can stay in and watch old movies all evening if you don’t feel up to going out.” He highly doubted she would!
“I spoke to minha mãe,” he went on. “She is looking forward to seeing you this evening as on your request will make for you some salmao da consuelo and also some of the chocolate and coconut cake you love only this time maybe leave some for everyone else!” he teased. “Are you ready? She nodded and with a wary eye on the clouds the pair left school grounds and headed for the pier. If they were lucky the rain would hold off... at least until after lunch!
* * * The beach around the pier was relatively empty. As such, Felipe and LizBeth easily found a place to sit amongst the old timbers that supported the structure above them. A few drops of rain had started to fall but the pair remained dry.
“You are looking better than earlier,” he commented. They’d stopped to pick up some apple sauce and yoghurt for LizBeth but he still felt bad tucking into the selection of ‘salgadinhos’ his mother had prepared. Maybe he could save some in case Liz felt peckish later this afternoon? Assuming she could eat by then! “Is your mouth any less tender?”

Liz beamed up at the Brazilian as he grinned, asking if she had a specific time to be back. She shook her head in response. "Nope, I told him I would call if I needed a ride, but I was sure that you'd take me home later." She replied, , wincing as her jaw throbbed in warning at her. "Mm an evening spent curled up watching movies with you...sounds perfect.." It would be even more perfect if Felipe's little sister stayed out of the way, and his older brothers, if they were around, would keep the teasing to a minimum. The atmosphere at Felipe's family's home was...warm and inviting, everything that Liz missed about her own parents.
Speaking of his mother, Liz looked up at him, more excitement clear in her dark green eyes. "Oy!" She exclaimed. "I can't help if if your brothers are slow and your mum is a great cook.." She grinned. "Yeah, let's get out of here before we get sucked into the wasteland they call a cafeteria." Liz slid an arm around his waist as they headed out, careful to watch the weather. The dark clouds reminded Liz of her first..*date* with Felipe, where he had taken her off campus, with that Kian boy tagging on, her first day at Gould.
~~~~~~
Under the pier was secluded, just the pair of them alone, curled up in the sand, a large wooden pillar to their backs with the water lapping gently at the shoreline close by. "Mmm most of the novacaine has worn off and now it's just a giant ache..but it's not unbearable..so I might be able to deal without the actual painkillers..and hopefully will be able to eat later tonight.." Liz didn't care if her mouth swelled and fell off, to miss one of Mama VilaNova's meals...it just did not happen. The South American woman would grind up the food in a blender and hand Liz a spoon no doubt!
"It's better then it was..I don't feel like I was smacked in the gob by a semi truck at least." She grinned, peeling back the tin lid to her applesauce. "You...eat...do not let your mum's food sit wasted.." She looked over at his newly unwrapped container of small bite sized foods. "She leave you any beijinho de coco this time?" Liz asked, dipping her spoon into her applesauce and taking a small bite.
“By tomorrow I’m sure you’ll start feeling a lot better,” Felipe consoled. He picked at his lunch and bit into one of the pieces. Salgadinhos Brasileiros.. Nothing could beat them in a packed lunch. The first one he’d chosen was one of Felipe’s personal favourites... bolinho de bacalhau - a cod fish croquette. He knew the others were a mixture of coxinha and risoles de palmito, being chicken and hearts of palm. Delicious.
He glanced at LizBeth when she asked about beijinho de coco and grinned. “You and your coconut,” he teased and he lifted a piece of kitchen paper to reveal the small coconut kisses she loved so much. “Maybe you could try and have a tiny piece,” he suggested. A morsel... nd if she ate it carefully... It shouldn’t cause any damage.
He ate another of the salgadinhos. He really was lucky that his mom was such a great cook! “Sooo... what sort of film shall we rent later?” he asked, eyeing the coconut kisses as he spoke. They really did look good.
Liz nodded. She had felt better the following day two months prior with the other extractions. She scrunched up her nose slightly at her pathetic excuse of a lunch, but she knew that if she tried to chew anything solid, she would hate herself later on for it. She'd made that mistake last time. Still, she cast an envious glance over at Felipe's lunch. His mum was great, Liz couldn't remember her own mother ever actually cooking. They'd had servants that had taken care of everything. She missed them heavily right now. She was about to graduate from secondary school, and they were not there to see it.
"Yes, me and my coconuts...there they are, standing in arow.." She teased right back at him. The aristobrat whimpered as he revealed that he did have the desired treat packed in his case. "Please?" She asked, shifting carefully to move closer without sending sand up her dress. "Kiss me then!" She grinned, opening her mouth slightly and closing her eyes in preperation for the chocolate kiss.
"Hmm..." She answered as she thought about it. "Movie..movie..I think..." Liz grinned, still waiting for the treat. "We could do some scary horror stuff...I could cling to you all frightened.." She giggled. "Or...some romantic comedy.." Just two suggestions off the top of her head. "Or I can make you sit through Monty Python again..." She grinned wickedly at him.
He leaned over and gently kissed LizBeth as ordered... not that he was complaining and would have done it anyway. He knew his lips would taste of chocolate and coconut and maybe that would be enough for Liz for the moment. She could eat one of the saved beijinho de coco on the way to pick up the fry cleaning.
He closed the lid on his lunch box and half turned to face LizBeth, watching as she finished her apple sauce with a distinct lack of enthusiasm.
“I am not sure I can stand watching Monty Python again,” he replied with a good-natured grimace. They watched several episodes and a couple of the movies already and Felipe wasn’t all that sure he understood the humour of it all. For instance, what had they meant by saying ‘are you suggesting coconuts migrate...’ or, even more bizarre, ‘We are the nights who say, 'Ni!’. What did ‘ni’ mean? Felipe had tried google.com.br but all that had come up had been some weird wiki article that tried to relocate him to a page on Nicaragua or one that listed all the information pertaining to nickel. Nothing that could be linked back to the English language. No, he didn’t understand them one damned bit!
“A romantic comedy? Hmm... that sounds better than a horror flick. I mean, I prefer you to have more pleasant dreams after spending the evening with me rather than ones where you are being chased by a mad axeman!” He thought for a moment. “My sister was talking about one... The Proposal. Sandra Bullock. She is funny... Have you seen it?”
Jackpot! That had not been the sort of kiss that Liz had been asking for to start with, but like hell if she was going to deny him and make it stop. She smiled into it, slowly tracing his lower lip with her tongue, partly to get more of the chocolate flavor and more to savour the taste that was Felipe. One of her hands rested on his thigh, providing nice touches and balance for Liz.
After the kiss, of course the applesauce was not all that fantastic. She looked at the empty cup with a look that clearly said...Ew.
Liz beamed at him, trying not to laugh as he whined about the horror that was Monty Pyton. It was brilliant stuff if you were into dry comedy. Liz..wasn't, but she could appreciate the Britishness of it just the same. "Ok..you must admit that the Killer Rabbit was fantastic though.." She grinned, leaving a kiss on his shoulder.
"Ok ok ok, fine, I'll make it up to you for making you sit through all that." Liz assured him. Fefe mentioned a movie by an American actress. "No I haven't.." She told him, looking down as she put her hand on something she hadn't expected. She yelped, shaking her hands clean as she found one of them with seaweed tangled in her fingers. "Ew! Yuck!" She shuddered visibly. "One comment about how I can eat sushi but rfuse to touch seaweed..and I swear.." She pointed a finger at him, her eyes wide for emphasis.
"But yes, romantic comedy works just fine..are we likely to be joined by the rest of the family?"
