 Edward and his vampire family are finally back in Forks after what happened in Italy. Bella, Alice, and him are back in high school, and Carlisle is back at the hospital. Everything is back to normal - or so it seems...
When a new werewolf appears in La Push, no one knows what to think of it. They welcome him into the pack, but are suspicious. One day, Bella sneaks down to see Jake. Instead, she meets Nick - the new werewolf. He imprints on her. When Edward and Jacob find out, they are livid. They won't let her our of their sight - in fear of her seeing Nick.
Suddenly, Alice is having wierd visions, and these visions are missing someone - Bella. Does Nick have something to do with this? Or is this the a plan of the Volturi? Alice is always watching Bella, not in visions, but in life. She has to hide her thoughts from Edward - but how long can she hold out?
Meanwhile, the rest of the Cullen's are busy with the other wolves tracking the newborns in Seattle. They have Alice watching - but she is starting to get overloaded, and things are starting to slip through. Will they be able to stop and kill the newborns and their creator?
