“Hai! I would like that very much!” Takumi immediately replied and to Elena’s offer of showing them her findings. Takumi, as always, struggled with names that contained the letter ‘L’ and so he knew he would pronounce it wrongly. Hopefully she wouldn’t be upset when he spoke her name as ‘Erena’ instead. Maybe he ought to continue calling her Kodansha? It would be easier without a doubt!
Most of the rest of what Elena said was lost on the Japanese youth but he had a feeling no matter how many times she repeated it all he would never understand completely. A lot of the words were complete unknowns to him but at least she’d heard of kitsune. Maybe she would be interested top learn more of the fox spirit...? And the others that were within his culture.
He paused momentarily to regret not bringing a jacket with him but in all honesty Takumi hadn’t thought he’d meet anyone at the cemetery and would head home early out of boredom. Instead he’d encountered not one but two new friends.
Life surely didn’t get much better than this and for that reason alone he strove to ignore the chilly night air...
Finally Elena called it a night and packed away her equipment. Takumi shot Kye a glance. “Will you come to see what was found too?” he asked It would be a pity to part ways so early in the evening.

While Kye didn't have a language barrier as Takumi did, that by no means meant that he understood what the girl was going on about. He still thought she was kind of crazy. So just because there was cold there were spirits or whatever? What if it was just like a gust of wind? Kye was still skeptical to say the least.
Takumi seemed quite enthusiastic though when Elena invited them both back to her place to check out her findings at the cemetery. If Kye really wanted to, this was totally his chance to bolt. But while he still was a non-believer, he was still kind of curious to see what this girl had been going on about. It all seemed so technical when she'd looked around the graveyard trying to find ghosts. Kye had even snapped some photos of it all although he wasn't sure that had gone over so well.
"Yeah, sure, why not," he said as he adjusted his black plastic glasses on his face. It was a combination of having nothing better to do and actually being genuinely curious to what this was all about. As to whether it would make him a believe in ghosts or not? Well, he was leaning toward the not as he hadn't seen and viable evidence that there had been anything there besides the three of them standing there and talking about ghosts.
The night air was turning colder though and Kye zipped up his hoodie to keep warm, glad that he'd worn it. "Well, I'm ready whenever you two are done," he told them. "I still am in doubt so lets see if you guys can make a believer out of me," he told them, sort of challenging them to find better evidence.

"Spirits have a hayday when it comes to people like you"Elena said with a laugh as she walked with them out of the cemetary. "My house is this way" she added quickly turning the way to go to her house. "Spirits love non believers, they enjoy playing with them. The one times we took out a fan with us and they did not want to believe anything and lets just say by the end of the night" he did he said with a laugh and a smile. "Of course we do approach differently the other ghost hunters. We go to dissprove rather then to prove. And that way when you find something you do all you can to make sure it is not some logical explination. For example if people see a bright light down a hallway, we try to figure out what could make it. Someone in the next building or a car, if it is neither or there is not glass we put it under the unexplained catagory." It was fun talking about her job to these two guys. One a firm believer the other a non believer.
"The most awesome things that you can get though are EVP's. You can't explain another voice under yours. And when that happens even I get the chills, but good chills. It makes me giddy when I find something like that" she said with a laugh. "I am the only girl that gets excited over hearing something like that. It is the biggest adrenaline rush you can imagine when finding a gem. The only things that give me true chills that I am not comfy with are when we go places that have pentegrams up" she said honestly. "That is when I make sure to get blessed afterwards I do not want to bring a demon home. I saw someone that did that and it made her life hell" she could not forget how it was to be there to get the demon out of her. It was something she will never forget and something she never wanted to experince herself.
"Demons are dangerous so that is why you have to be careful where you ghost hunt" she looked at Takumi when she said this. "I know you like it but you can't be just going in any place. Do some reserach if you can on the building. If they have had devil worshipping or whatever stay clear of it. Those are not for amatures to get near" she said with all seriousness. She did not want to see anything happen to him espically since he seemed to be here friend now, a new friend is someone she did not want to see hurt.
"Here is my house" she led them in. "My aunt and uncle are out for the night at dinner with friends so it is just us." She led them up to her room on the second floor which was the fartherest back and had a balcony off it. In her room she took off her equipment and put it on the desk. She turned on some 80's rock which was very low in the background. "Time to make a believer out of you hopefully" she grinned at Kye.
At her computer she moved her mouse so it would wake up. She went to her file called Evidence and began looking for what she wanted. "This is at Alcatrez" she said clicking. It was a picture of a cell and inside was a misty shape near the back. "Here was the picture snapped before, and then after. That was the only shape that we got that mist. We found out the guy that had that cell hanged himself" she explained. "And we got this EVP in the same cell" she clicked on another file and you heard her and someone else asking questions and talking about what happened here and to the guy, suddenly you heard plain as day the word hanged then get out. And you could tell on the EVP they gave no reactions to hearing it. For the next thirty minutes she showed pictures, regular and thermal and EVP's. "I have tons more stuff what do you think?" she asked the two of them.

“Sugoi!” breathed Takumi in obvious awe. “This is all most interesting. I didn’t know people like you existed,” he admitted with a bright smile. “I mean, I Have seen TV shows where people look for yūrei but...” He shook his head. “Sugoi!” he repeated and he leaned closer to peer at the images once more.
Elena’s warning of demons still was very much in his thoughts and while he was rash, reckless and out for adventure Yoshino Takumi was far from a fool. He wouldn’t risk tangling with demons. He’d watched ‘Ringu’ enough times to make that a certainty.
“You should investigate the lighthouse,” he told her. “A group of us went up there after dark...” Probably better to not go into detail about how he’d used an information leaflet to wedge open a lower window! “... I am sure I felt icy fingers on the back of my neck when Izzy and I were up in the room with the big lantern. We should go there, hai? You will come too, Kye?” It would be interesting to find out once and for all if that poor woman still roamed the lighthouse, looking for her lost lover.

Kye wasn't buying this. And the talk of demons...well to him it only proved his point more that the pair he'd come across were a bit crazy. Ghosts were one thing, but demons...no effing way. Still he looked at Elena's "proof" but he was still skeptical. Photos and videos could be doctors and the voices...well they were hardly voices at all...probably just sounds or maybe even someone else talking. Kye would keep his mouth shut since he didn't want to ruin their fun, but he was still very much a non-believer.
"Old lighthouse...where's that?" Kye asked. He'd only moved to the Southern part of California at the start of the school year so while he'd become familiar with quite a few places in LA during that time, he'd never been by an old lighthouse. He wasn't sure he bought the boy's story about a ghost there, but it still could be cool to check out sometime. Maybe it would be eerie like the graveyard...maybe it would photograph better.
He shrugged, "I suppose I could come check it out," he said. "When are you planning on going?" he asked. "Right now...or another time?" Kye wasn't sure he was ready to sign up as a junior member of the ghost hunting society or whatever--non-believer or not, but he was still having fun learning about all the (what he considered to be crazy) things they believed. Plus, Kye didn't exactly have a huge group of friends and if these guys wanted to hang out with him...well, who was he to refuse?

Takumi clapped his hands together, beaming with enthusiasm. “I will need to make sure the ground level window has still been left jammed open,” he said in a thoughtful murmur. A quick trip up the coast to the headland where the old lighthouse stood would give him a chance to try out his Vespa’s new set of brakes. “I can do that early next week sooo... either middle of later in the week or next weekend? That will give us time to plan this out properly. We can spend the night up there and take something to eat!” The plan was definitely coming together. “I can ask Izzy and Lia,” he continued, blissfully unaware that the latter had left town with her two brothers.
“A shame that otouto-san still isn’t back. It would have been fun to have him there as well.” Thad Cotton’s last experience at the lighthouse had seen him arrested and so not the best of memories.
“It would take too long to get there tonight,” Takumi continued. “And the leaflet holding open the widow may have been discovered.” He paused. “Do I look or sound Dutch?” Two heads shook in the negative. “I didn’t think so...” The leaflet he’d been given had been in that language - for whatever reason. Useless for information purposes... Perfect to wedge open windows!
“Will you come as well, Elena?” he asked, butchering her name a little.

Elena listend to them, she could still see Kye was not a believer and that was okay with her. She had listened silently as him and Taki talked. "It would be better if it was in the middle of the week, since I have more free time then" she said. "I usually work over the weekends" she said to them. "So middle of the week is perfect for me." She was going through her mental files and figured out why the light house sounded fimilar.
"I have heard of that light house" she said with a smile. "I have heard the stories and read the history on it." She still did not reveal she could tell when she was not alone, and some ghost truely effected her where she felt what they did. She had even wept for them in the past, when one had a truely horrific life or had a terriable fate that caused them to die and become a ghost. "It is one of the places that my employer's want to go to one day also. Of course I am not telling them I am going now. I keep my extra curricular to myself unless we go to that place. It is my way of keeping up on my game and being a better investigator" she said with a large smile on her face.
"I will be bringing my equipment I can show you how to do it. Just be very careful they are all so expensive" she said honestly. "I would have to hate to replace anything" she hoped she did not sound harsh but she just needed to be honest when it came to guarding the equipment.

“Hai! Then mid-week it shall be!” Takumi stated with a bright smile. “We should exchange phone numbers. That way I can text you both when I have checked the window on the lower floor. We can then arrange a time and place to meet.”
Numbers were quickly swapped and Takumi sat back in deep satisfaction. Tonight he’d only expected to encounter the dead but instead he’d come away from it with two new - and interesting - friends. Both were vastly different to any other friends he had and that made them all the more intriguing. Thad otouto-san was going to love Elena’s equipment! He couldn’t wait for him to return so that he could introduce them. And Kye... His taste in shirts was amazing! Takumi could see endless discussion in that department!
The evening was starting to turn late and Takumi had promised his parents he wouldn’t be out too late. Tomorrow was, after all, a school day and he had a whole year to make up for. Upside - he would spend that year with Izzy and his other pals. That made it all ok in his eyes.
He reached for his automatically discarded boots and started to pull them on. “Arigatou, Elena... and you also, Kye. This evening has been far more fun than I’d thought it might be.” He dipped his head to them each in turn before heading out. Their trip to the lighthouse was sure to be exciting beyond belief!
