Not having seen - or heard from - Izzy since he’d stumbled across her kicking seven shades of hell out of that tree earlier Takumi had to admit he was in two minds. Should he call her or was it better to leave her and Jett alone to work through their differences? In the end the latter won through. He’d see her tomorrow and find out then how their talk had gone. This evening he’d find his own fun and entertainment... and that looked likely to take the shape of a spot of ghost hunting in the nearby cemetery.
“Don’t stay out too late,” his mother said. “It’s a school night.”
Takumi laughed. “Like that’s something I could forget!” he retorted and his mother smiled fondly.
He grabbed a jacket, expecting the evening chill to settle in quickly enough and with a briskness to his stride he headed towards the graveyard on Old Hillview Rise...
* * * The sun had set well beyond the horizon by the time Takumi reached his destination.... and, as he’d guessed, the cool night air already started to bite through his UVERWorld Tokyo Dome 2007 tour t-shirt. He pulled on his tattered jacket and clasped it across his chest. A good idea or one of his worst? Time would soon tell....

Dressed in a back T-shirt with a rocket ship on it and dark gray zip up hoodie, jeans, and painted Vans, Kye walked along with his hands in the pockets of his hoodie. He reached up, straightening his black plastic glasses which peaked out under his favorite black beanie that he liked to wear, little wisps of brown hair stuck out the brim, slightly curly at the ends. He wasn't really walking to anywhere in particular, he just knew that he didn't want to go home yet. Kye wasn't a big fan of home, mostly because home life sucked. His mother was a complete scatter-brained mess most of the time, and walked around like she had no brain at all. And the current boyfriend...the one that had caused their relocation to LA last summer liked to make passes at his sister when their mother wasn't around. And Kye couldn't do anything about it because the times he tried he just ended up getting the shit beat out of him. So mostly, he avoided the house when he could. As did Landon, only Landon was more social and usually actually had people to go see or things to go. Kye didn't have that so much, so when he wasn't following his sister about, he did a lot of walking. He'd go random places and mostly just take pictures of things. He wasn't really so good...nothing like a professional or anything but he did like taking pictures and pretty much always had a camera with him. He just had a small digital one, but he wanted to get a nicer one, although the nicer ones were larger and harder to carry around and Kye had no desire to turn into the kid who always carried around a camera. Because doing that would be noticeable and maybe people would ask to see his pictures which he wouldn't have liked anyway, because he thought they were mostly shit anyway. Kye wasn't really that great in the self esteem department. As he walked, he caught site of a creepy sort of looking graveyard. He'd never really noticed it because but probably only because he hadn't really been here before and if he had, it had probably been during the day. He wasn't sure if there was enough light for a picture, but he figured it was worth a try. He'd try with the flash too although he was pretty sure that would brighten up the scene too much. He walked a little closer, snapping his first shot without flash. Nope, nothing, he declared as he looked into the small LCD screen on the back of his camera. He turned the flash on and lifted it to take another picture when a Asian boy crossed the street and looked like he was heading toward him. He was pretty sure he recognized the kid for school, but didn't really know him. Kye's T-shirt: www.threadless.com/product/2216/Space_Needs_Color

Takumi whistled softly to himself as he wandered into the graveyard. He forced back a shiver - apprehension or fear? He told himself it was thanks to the chilly night air - as he ducked inside the creaking wrought iron set of gates. One of the pair hung at a distinct angle from its hinges and the gently breeze caused it to groan in a most disturbing manner.
He paused just inside the gates and turned slightly, a sudden flash of light grabbing his attention. A camera... Kian perhaps? Company at the very least and he knew that meant he wouldn’t have to explore the graveyard alone.
But no... it wasn’t Kian behind the camera this time. Another boy... One he sort of recognised from school - not that he could dredge up his name.
Takumi turned slowly to face him fully. He blinked... and recoiled slightly, the dying light from the setting sun glancing off a vividly coloured t-shirt. Unexpected as the rest of the boy’s clothing was of a far more sombre hue. “I like it,” he stated, gesturing towards the shirt. “Are you going inside? If so perhaps we can go together. I’m Takumi and I am looking for ghosts,” he stated with a defiant lift of his chin. Had that sounded as much like an alcoholics anonymous introduction to the other boy as it had done to Takumi?

"Oh...um thanks," Kye said when the other boy complemented his T-shirt. Kye liked weird T-shirts, he usually ordered them online from different sites where independent designers submitted shirt ideas. "Oh, nice to meet you...I'm Kye," he said to the other boy who seemed to be very friendly.
Kye wasn't always so friendly. It wasn't that he didn't like people or didn't like to talk to people but usually people paid no attention to him so he was sort of used to the solitude. He sort of gave the other boy, Takumi a look when he mentioned that he was looking for ghosts. Was he pulling his leg? "There's no such thing as ghosts," he said, glancing toward the cemetery. "I just thought it looked kind of cool and eerie so I was trying to get a good picture...but the lighting's no good, it's not really turning out," he explained to the other boy.
The other boy seemed kind of serious about the ghost thing. "You really believe in them?" Kye said, still skeptical. But what else did he have to do. "I'll tell you what, I'll go with you and see if you can prove me wrong," he offered, figuring that poking around the old grave yard could be fun even if he wasn't looking for ghosts.

(OOC: Sorry I hope this okay but this is to prime to pass up for Elena :-) )
Elena was out on her own tonight. No work in either job, so she could do her own freelance ghost hunting. Glad she had eqipment from work. She had her usual stuff on her, her recorder for EVP's, her thermal camera, digital camera, and the little machine that detects Electoro Magnetic Waves. She knew of a graveyard near by she has done work in before. She has gotten results from it in the past. She wondered if she would find anything new. The one ghost she has communicated in the past. In fact it was like it liked her coming around. She walked toward the graveyard and saw two guys going on. She heard that they were talking and none to quietly then she heard the one say he did not believe in ghost. Oh the spirits would have a fun time with him if they got made at him saying that.
"You know saying you don't believe in them pisses them off and makes you a target to go after" Elena said when she reached them. She pulled out the recorder and her camera around her neck had the thermal camera in front of her. She had the Electoro Magnetic Waves machine in the pocket of her coat. She walked toward the oldest section and began looking around with her eyes and glancing at the Thermal camera every once in awhile. She did not know if she would get her usual ghost with strangers in here. She has suddenly forgotten about the two boys and was so focused on her work. "Come Audrey you can come out I am here" she said outloud. She pressed record on the recorder knowing she got hits without even speaking.

(OOC: The more the merrier! ) Takumi dipped his head in his characteristic manner when greeting a person and he threw Kye a bright grin. “Of course I believe in spirits and the afterlife,” he replied and to his credit the Japanese youth even managed to keep any astonishment out of his voice. Didn’t everyone believe in ghosts? “In my culture we even have special names for each different kind of ghosts... like... aaah... Umi Bozu is a huge sea ghost that haunts sailors or there is Gashadokuro. That is a ghost of people who have starved to death. But tonight I am hoping to meet with Buruburu.” Takumi paused dramatically and leaned closer to Kye. “Buruburu is the ghost of fear,” he told the other boy in a low whisper. “ It lives in the forests and graveyards just like this one. It takes the form of a shaking old man or woman and sometime only has one eye. It will attach itself to the back of its victim sending a chill up and down the spine. The selected victim then dies of fright.” He straightened. “Not that I intend to die tonight!” he quickly added with a short laugh. He would have said more by a girl chose that moment to join him. he had to have heard what Kye had said about not believing in spirits. He nodded in agreement at her comment. “What is that?” he hissed, pointing to the piece of equipment she held but the girl continued with her work, seemingly not even noticing they were there. She spoke out loud, causing Takumi to jump a good two inches from the ground. Audrey? It didn’t seem all that sinister a name. Certainly not Burabura he’d heard of had been called that. Perhaps an Audrey was another form of ghost he’d yet to hear of. He held his breath and waited to see if the ‘yūrei’ would show itself... This was turning out to be a far bigger adventure than he’d ever hoped!

Elena had heard what the boy said but did not answer it. She just wanted to see if she got any hits on the thermal first. She finally turned to the boy keeping a eye on her thermal to. "This is a thermal camera, it shows body heat. So I can see you and him and me, but it also shows a spirit. So basically if I can't see it with my eyes I can see it on here. I find a spot take a picture or do a EVP session. And sometimes it will show it self in words and not just on here but not everytime. Sometimes I just get evps which is why I leave this running all night" she held up her recorder. She slipped it under a band she kept on her jeans just to hold it so she could hold her digital camera. She lifted the strapp up over her head and held it out in front of her.
She glanced at the thermal once and saw a red spot which meant body heat, it was back by the woods. So it could be animal, she began to creep toward it. "So you amatures at this stuff or what?" she asked. She asked all this quietly so as not to startle what was watching, or to alarm any spirits in the place. And it also made it easier to hear what was going on around her. She has been well trained to listen with one ear at all times to. "Or you part of some ghost hunting society. I am part of CPS, California Paranormal Society and know you are not one of us" she said to them. She figured if they were amatures, they would not dismiss her that way. They would know this was something she did for a living, sure she was young but she did have a living. She would wait till later to find out names and gives her. She saw eyes glowing by the woods and she knew it was a animal. "Damn just some little creature" she sighed. She has not heard or seen anything. "Tonight just might be a quiet night" she said looking around.

Takumi stared at the girl in utter confusion. Thermals... EVPs... He hadn’t a clue what she was talking about! Regardless he nodded in his usual sage manner, pretending he knew exactly what she was referring to. It was clear she was a Kodansha... Ghost hunter. Not one like himself but one who liked to use specialist equipment. A professional.
He looked at the girl in renewed awe.
“Amateur? Like aah... hobby? Hai. I am definitely amateur,” Takumi replied with a couple of emphatic nods of his head. Again he was lost when she spoke of the club she belonged to. He didn’t know such groups existed.
He peered at the animal her sensor had found and he grinned. It is kitsune!” he declared. “Fox. In my culture kitsune is an evil being who tricks girls into... aahm... Perhaps that’s not the sort of thing I should mention,” he added with the hint of a flush to his cheeks.
“You have seen yūrei here before then? Spirits,” he quickly translated. It sounded to him like she’d seen something... this spectre called Audrey at least! “This is Kye and I am Takumi,” he added with another formal bow. “I am happy to meet you, Kodansha from CPS!”

As the Japanese boy continued to talk about spirits, Kye quickly realized that this was a cultural thing. In the culture he'd grown up with he had been taught that things like ghosts were only in the movies, not real. This boy, Takumi, clearly had been raised to believe differently. Kye felt sort of bad for his original skepticism as he hadn't been out to offend anyone, but the other boy didn't seem so much offended as simply excited to share his knowledge of ghosts.
But before Kye could really respond to this at all, a girl joined them. She was cute, but very odd as she pulled out all this crazy equipment and started calling to someone named Audrey. Is this really what cute girls did in their spare time, because Kye would have pinned ghost hunting for something the weird girls would do...the ones who were unattractive and unpopular like himself.
Takumi and the girl, who hadn't revealed her name yet, started going back and forth about professional ghost hunting verses as a hobby. This was the part that Kye found particularly comical because this girl, who clearly was from a culture similar to his own, didn't only believe in ghosts but also thought she was a professional ghost hunter! Kye forced his face to stay straight and not to laugh, something he'd come very accustomed to given the ridiculousness that constantly seemed to surround him growing up. Maybe the girl had weird ghost believing in parents or something but then again Kye's parents were anything but normal and he didn't have any strange hobbies such as this. In fact Kye didn't really have any hobbies. He really was quite boring most of the time.
"Sorry but EVP session?" Kye couldn't help but ask, not even bringing up the whole California Paranormal Society which he thought was completely ludicris. "So what does all that stuff do? Just read thermal activity? How do ghosts still have body heat...isn't that like the first thing to go once you die?" Kye asked, still completely clueless to this all. But he had to give it to the pair of ghost hunters, his evening looked like it was turning out to be far more interesting than he'd ever expected.

"I could tell it was just a hobby when I saw you" Elena hoped she did not sound harsh because she did not mean to be. "Well this is all eqipment I bought myself for work. I have used it a lot of places. One of my most favorite place is Alcatreze, which let tell you some of the male ghost like to pinch women's bottoms. I don't mind ghost I just hate when they touch me, that does creep me out." She is the first to admit she does not get scared easy with all she has seen and felt from the places she has been. If she can live through her parents death no pain beats the pain of losing them. "Kitsuine I read them in the book the Vampire Diaries at least the new triology" she said. "I haven't ran into anything like them but I have ran into demons." She shuddered at the memory about how the evil about made her sick whens he walked into the place. That was the bad thing about her extra sense when she knew something was there. "Oh yes Audrey is a spirit that lives here. I came across her name doing EVP's she usually says hellor or something. She is always here but I think she is not showing herself because strangers are here, she is very shy. In fact nothing is here tonight" she sighed.
"Have you seen on Syfy or it was known as Sci-fi, they have Ghost Hunters the show TAPS, The Alantic Paranormal Society. We are the California branch of them" she explained. "We have been all over California we have even traveled out of state to work with other branches which is really cool. We get into places amautures and touriest can't even imagine getting into. Which is a huge perk on the job, like abondoned mental instiutions and hopsitals and the like are the most active places I have been. You can let your guard down in those places you never know who you are going to come across." She smiled when he said his name and the others boys. "Hi Takumi and Kye I am Elena" she said. She reached out with her extra sense and still got nothing she let out a sigh and looked at them. "This place is dead litearly tonight, nothing is going on."
"EVP's stand for Electronic Voice Phenomon" Elena explained. "It is what you only pick up on recorders that you can not hear with your own ears. Which some are pertty creepy but very cool to get. I might have got one tonight even though nothing else happened. I really hope I did." She was getting exicted at what she might find on her recorder. "I am proably going to stay about another thirty minutes just try and get something, go home go over and put it on my computer to almost mute our voices and then I can hear what they say" she told them. "Sorry about talking so much I am just very into ghost hunting, you can call it my passion you can say" she said all this without taking a breath and smiling the whole time.
"Ghost don't give off body heat, but they do show up as cold" she explained. "I will have to show you some pictures from the thermal. I save all I come across on my lap top. They show up blue while we show up red" she told Kye. "In fact when I am done here do you boys want to come back to my place. I can let you listen to some EVP's and see some pictures on the thermal and what was taken with my digital."
