It took Christophe the better part of an hour to finally finish saying farewell to his new group of friends and also thanking the chief for allowing him to visit. "Of course I will be back... if you will have me," he added. The chief smiled and nodded, watching the French boy walk away and surrounded by Bodaway and his companions. He hadn't missed the tension between the trio of visitors but he would pray they sorted out any differences quickly.
Snowbird peered after Christophe as he walked back towards his waiting car. She knew the reason for that tension and like the Elder she prayed it would be soon behind them. Youngsters didn't need any additional stress in their lives.
Christophe rummaged in his pocket for his car keys, glancing up from his task in time to see Sarissa walk out of the room he'd shared with her.
"See you tomorrow maybe at school," he said. He was still hurt and angry at her treatment of him but at least he'd said goodbye to her. Maybe that was more than she deserved... but it wasn't in his nature to be out of sorts for long... even if it was merited.
He slipped inside the car and set off. The drive back wouldn't take him too long but it was a glorious Sunday afternoon. He wasn't in any hurry...

"Hi maman!" he called out to his mother who could be heard in the kitchen. She poked her head around the doorway and smiled at her son.
"Good time?"
"Mostly," he answered.
"Mostly?"
He nodded slightly. "Do you need me for anything, maman?" he asked.
"Not right now. Go and check on your precious orcas," she told him with a laugh.
How had she known?
"Christophe...?"
"Oui?"
"Is that a feather in your hair?"
He lifted a hand to touch it and smiled. "Only a small one, maman," he assured her and with his spirits definitely rising he grabbed his borrowed keys once more and set off for the aquarium... Some time there before he'd check out the pier...
