Reese Butler was still prickly with everything. Even her parents, sorry adoptive parents, stayed out of her way. They even told her to shop all day, do anything to cheer up. How could see cheer up after the hell her life has turned into. She was ready to find out who her birth parents were and now mom and dad won't even help out. They had a huge argument the night before over it, and that was the last Reese saw them till this morning. After the argument of them saying she wasn't allowed to know because they said so, and hers with it is her life she has a right to know. She went out and got drunk and hooked up with a radom guy, came home and slept till 10. That was when they gave her the credit card and told her to go shopping. She left the house without a smile or good by to them.
Heading to the mall she parked and walked in. She headed for her favorite store, which at this moment was zales, she knew good jewelry always made her feel good. She looked and saw some girl her age who was not where near dressed as good as her. "Excuse me" she grabbed the sales girl before she could reach the other girl. "I am looking for diamond pieces." She waited to the sales girl went to get some things. "Sorry I am sure you understand that I come first" she said with a smirk to the girl. She had to know who she was, she was Reese's age, and everyone at school knew who Reese Butler was.

Sarah Brody had been up early. While she didn't do a ton of work, she did do some modeling from time to time, something that she quite enjoyed. Okay, so she didn't really like the modeling so much, it was just a bunch of people yelling at you to look this way or pose that way...and god forbid you actually speak. But of course Sarah told no one this. She said she loved it and it was a ton of fun. What she did like about it was the paycheck. And today she planned to spend a big fat one.
While Sarah was one of the most popular girls in school, she wasn't as rich as a lot of the people. However, everyone knew better than to say one word about it--especially because Sarah still managed to always get her hands on designer items and always looked completely amazing. Today, her makeup was still done from the shoot, a subdued natural look, and her hair had been taken down from its updo and fell in long waves down her back. She was dressed casually in a pair of skinny jeans and a Marc Jacobs blouse, paired with a pair of metallic ballet flats. Really it was the perfect shopping outfit, she thought.
As she walked through the mall, she planned to head to BCBG and then maybe check out DVF, but before she even got there she caught site of Reese Butler mouthing off to a sales girl at Zales. Sarah stifled a laugh. While Reese was known in school for being outwardly bitchy to everyone, Sarah was the nice girl who people knew better than to cross. She'd be a bitch to a loser if they deserved it, but usually she preferred the fake nice approach.
"Bitch much?" Sarah said walking over to Reese. "Oh please say you're getting that one, its clearly the nicest here," she said, pointing to a necklace that was under the glass case. Sarah was more a Tiffany fan herself because of the name, but then again she'd never been huge on diamonds anyway, unless they were the studs in her ears.

Reese did not have any problems with Sarah in school. The girl never crossed her or mouthed off to her. She gave Reese the respect she deserved and demanded. So she had no reason to give her the ice queen stare she gave to some people that talked to her. Plus Sarah was also so popular, so she had no problems talking to her with some niceness. Of course she was never overly nice, she kept people at a distance, and being nice to a point made sure she did not have people thinking she was going to be their friend. "I do like that one and it is nice big fat price tag which is even better." She planned on making a huge dent on daddy's credit card, which he already okayed. She was not sure how much she was going to spend but she planned to spend a lot. "I do think I will get that along with whatever else catches my eye" she said as her eyes began purusing the glass case.
"Enjoying a day of shopping to?" she asked the other popular girl. Someone like Sarah, meaning popular, was close to a friend as she got. They were friendly but not best friends. Best friends was not something she had, yes she wondered at times what it would be like, but it did not faze her that she did not have any.She was fine just being her own best friend, after all you can only trust yourself in life. "I know I plan on hitting every store that I can today" she smirked. "Full permission to make a big dent in daddy's credit card.God I love having a rich daddy that feels guilty about things."

Sarah resisted rolling her eyes at the comment about the big fat price tag. How much did Reese really have to brag about money? Was she that insecure? Sarah didn't necessarily thing price equaled taste but she knew better than to argue with the girl. There were some girls that she knew that she could push around, and she did and there were other she knew better than to try and push around and Reese was one of them. "Yeah, why not get both," she said with a shrug.
"Yeah, I'm not really looking for jewelry today though, unless I happen to see an accessory that I like," she told the other girl. "I just figured it was a perfect day to spruce up my Spring wardrobe a bit," she said lightly, not mentioning how she'd gotten the money. Sarah never talked money and if anyone asked her why she just scoffed and said that she wasn't that tacky.
Sarah tossed some of her long brown hair behind her shoulders. "So you just here for jewelry today or are you shopping for everything?" she asked, as she watched the nervous sales girl head back toward them, hastily opening up the glass case for Reese. Sarah couldn't help but feel bad for the girl but it wasn't as if she'd say anything. Sarah would sooner throw her under the bus than falter in front of the competition. Sarah knew how to play the game.

"I love retail therapy, when life is not going your way, shopping just makes you feel better. A new pair of shoes, some new jewelry just make me feel all good inside. I am a firm believer in the saying, that Diamonds are a girls best friend, they are mine" she said with a laugh. She was not one that wore fake jewelry. She can afford the real stuff so why would she get the fake stuff. Plus fake is just so not her, it is cheap, and she was not cheap, she deserved the best of the best, and that meant real stuff, and name brands. "There is never a bad day to spruce up the wardrobe" she said with a smile. She had to admit it is fun to shop with someone else, she likes other peopls opinon on how she looked. And she never trusted a sales person opinon on anything, they will say anything to make commession. She wanted a honest opinion on things.
While she picked out other pieces and began browsing the rest of the cases. "I am looking for everything. Want company while you shop. I promise to give my honest opinon on how things look. So that way I can get your honest opinon to. If something makes me look fat tell me, it doesn't hurt my feelings." Words no longer hurt her, it was things that were unsaid that has hurt her the most, or things that are kept hidden, even though they say it is for her own good. "I know we don't hang out often but it is no fun to shop alone." Once she picked out all she wanted in the store she paid with her black credit card, curtsy of her father of course, she turned to Sarah. "Where do you want to head for first?"

"Yeah, well who doesn't," Sarah said about retail therapy. Maybe she didn't have as much money as say Reese did, but she still loved to shop and did it well. Plus, it wasn't that she was so poor she couldn't afford designer items. She could afford designer things, she just had to make her money stretch a little further than the rest, which in the end wasn't really an issue because Sarah was good at that.
"Indeed," Sarah agreed. "I mean, especially on Sunday's when there is nothing better to, since obviously I'm usually busy the rest of the weekend." Although while that statement was once true, anymore it seemed all her so-called friends wanted to do was hang out with their boyfriends, which was something that Sarah didn't have.
"Yeah, sure," she said when Reese asked if she wanted to shop with her. Sarah didn't have to worry about honest opinions, she knew she looked good in everything. As for Reese, Sarah couldn't promise to give her honest opinions, but in the sake not really having anyone else, Sarah figured she could be nice for once...and honest.
"I was just heading to BCBG when I saw you. You wanna check them out? Then I was thinking of hitting up Diane Von Furstenberg and then not sure where else yet, depends what looks good int he windows," she told the other girl.
