Brad had sent a text to Mackenzie asking if he had wanted to hang out, he'd just got back into town after a weekend out in the sticks enjoying some private time with the latest boyfriend in his life. Not that his parents minded this but he really had wanted to just escape for the weekend. He didn't have anything to escape from, it was just nice to escape the city life.
He felt relaxed and actually what he wanted to do was hang out with some friends, maybe catch a movie, or just find a good place to eat breakfast. Though he was on the pier and the idea of testing out some of the rides and maybe hotdogs and heaving on some poor unsuspecting spectator to said ride. But really hang out was what he wanted to do and it was what he would do. He had a hamburger in his hand from one of the stalls and was currently watching one of the rides while he waited. He consciously pulled his phone out to check the time.
He smiled at the latest photo on his phone, that was a memory he wouldn't forget in a hurry. He looked behind him to see whether he had missed the entrance, spotting a familiar face in the crowd he waved.

Mac had been in the shower when his phone buzzed with a text message. So Mac never got it right away. He dried off and dressed in jeans and a black tanktop with a blue over shirt. He could not stop thinking about Sloane, or making out with her. Then there was Brad, man Mac was meeting so many nice looking people, he was very glad he moved. Mainly cause these people were turning into friends.
Mac finally walked over to the night stand. His phone was blinking so he picked it up and smiled. Speak of the devil. Mac grabbed his things and bolted for the door. He asked to borrow a car and once someone nodded he grabbed the keys and was out the door before someone could change their minds. Any chance to go to the pier and see the rides with a good friend was fine by Mac.
He was running late. Which Mac hated to do, but he would make it up to Brad. Hopefully. He parked and got out, making sure to lock the doors. He had totally forgotten to eat breakfast. His stomach grumbled as he approached Brad from behind. "That smells delish, point me in that direction. I am famished." Mac said in his lovelt Irish accent.

Brad grinned at him, "You have no idea, the burger is to die for..." Brad said to Mackenzie. "Not to early for you I hope." he added as he took a moment to look around remembering where he had gotten his hamburger. "This way then." he said pointing of to one side. "It may not be exactly where I got my food, but I'm pretty sure I went that way for it." Brad told him.
He lead the way back the way he had come making sure to keep tabs on where his friend was, not wanting to lose Mackenzie in the crowd of people that was growing almost he thought at the moment.
"So how has your weekend been so far?" he asked with a smile on his face. "I know your still finding your way around the town, so probably doing a lot of exploring. Or is it just checking out how you get everywhere quickly?" he asked Mackenzie smiling.
"I was out pretty much all day yesterday, just got back about four this morning. I'm not sure what shocked my parents more, the fact that I had something else to do than work, or that I was out all night. I am officially on reprimand with a view to grounding if I come in that late again. Before graduation anyway." Brad said with a wide grin.

Mac laughed as Brad said he thought this was the way, "Well if is not the correct way I am sure we can turn around and try again. This carnival, that is what it is called right? is much bigger then I expected. I was glad I found you. I thought I might not." Mac admitted. He had been very lucky to be looking at the right place when the crowd parted. And there was not as many people. The numbers seemed to be growing.
"Grounded? The same would happen to me too. Unless my father did not notice I came in late, which had happened a few times. Although he tends to be so busy with work he will forget I am grounded." That happened a few times too. Mac's dad was very strict, but he forgot some of the punsihements he gave cause he was too worried about other things.
"Sorry to hear you are grounded, cannot be that bad if you were able to still come out, you just can't come hometoo late right? I promise to not keep you out that late." Mac winked at Brad. "Yesterday I made a new friend. Her name is Sloane. She agreed to show me around as well and tell me a few secrets about LA that I should know." Mac commented.
"Besides that I have been exploring some more. At least when Io can get a car. I am still trying to remember which side of the road's to drive on. It is very embaressing when I have a car coming at me. I have been lucky not to be in an accident yet. This place is confusing. How lond did it take you o get use to it?"

Brad grinned, "No I'm on warning, I don't usually stay out that late but its a weekend and I was having fun. If I get caught coming in that late again, I won't see the outside world for a week or something. Which would be a bummer for my new boyfriend and that relationship. You have no idea how hard it is to keep a relationship going when your so busy." Brad added with a shake of the head. "But you probably don't want to know about my private life." Brad added with a grin.
Brad's grin widened into a full on smile when Mackenzie brought up making friends with people not long after arriving in LA. "Thats great news, see you do have the Edwards charm, every body seems to love you." Brad said to him. "Plus girl friends never go a miss in LA." Brad added.
They were walking in the right direction as he spotted the vendor in question, "Hey my luck is in apparently vendor at twelve o'clock and I am almost certain thats the place, guy with big handlebar mustache and a gut that would put a sumo to shame yeah thats the one." Brad said to him with a grin on his face. "Take the burger with the onions and burger sauce, you can't go wrong with that combination." Brad pointed out.

"Boyfriend? Thats good news. How long you been seeing this guy? I am sure I do not know him, but as your friend I would like to meet him some day." Mac was always willing to meet more people, especially friends and boyfriend or other significant others. Social graces dictated that, but also Mac was not a shy guy so he would be more then happy to meet Brad's boyfriend, even in for some reason, a tiny part of him was disappointed to hear the news.
"Yes I was afraid making friends would be rather difficult. But it does help to have some of that Edward's charm. it works well for me. I guess my gradnfather did something right." Mac said. Everyone knew their Grandfather was a hard man to please and that did not make a relationship with him very easy.
"I see what you mean. I shall be back." He told Brad. Lucky there was no line and he ordered the burger just like Brad said and once he paid for it and got it he walked back over and took a big bite, "Hmm this is good." he missed the big spot of burger sauce that fell onto his slightly exposed chest.
