After talking to Lana and finally devouring what was left of his burger, he went home and changed his clothes. He wanted to go an apologize to Holly for what happened and give her a night on the town she wouldn't forget.
"Hey dad could I use the good car tonight?" Slate asked.
"Sure, just be sure to fill it up before you get home." His father replied handing the keys to him.
"Thanks Dad you rock!" Salte said running out the door.
Slate stopped by a local florist and bought a dozen purple hyacinths to say he was sorry as well as a teddy bear. He realized he had acted like a fool and put Holly in a bad spot. He wasn't like that.
Before heading over, he sent her a text message: 'Hol on my way over. I had some sense knocked into me. S'
He didn't wait for a reply but drove straight over, he wanted to see the look on her face when she opened the door.
He pulled into her driveway and went to the door, flowers in front of his face. He rang the bell and waited for her.

After Slate had left like a pack of wolves had been chasing him, Holly had hit her shower. She stood there for close to an hour, the eventual cold water raining down on her naked skin as she let her thoughts mill around in her head. Was there something wrong with her? was she only good enough to sleep with, but not good enough to keep?
Seeing as it was better safe then sorry, Holly headed out of the house and down to the closest pharmacy. She spoke with the pharmacist, who advised her on the proper use of the emergency contraception she was buying. The blond made her purchases and headed back to the empty house. Following the instructions, Holly took the tiny pills and curled up in the living room to watch tv, though nothing really interested her much.
A couple of hours later, she was really uncomfortable. The cramping and nausea was normal according to the pharmacist. It had to do with the rush of extra hormones flooding her body or something like that. A half uneaten pint of ice cream sat on the table in front of her. She'd left her phone in her bag so she never got the message from Slate.
The doorbell rang, and she got up, wincing as another cramp twisted her stomach. Opening the door, she found herself assaulted by pretty purple flowers. "Um..Hi?

Slate peeked from behind the flowers. "Can you forgive me for being such an ass earlier today?" He looked at her with big sad puppy eyes.
"I know what I did, put you on the spot but I was scared and unsure of what to do."
This was very lame but it was the truth. Good boys never did anything like what allegedly happened. "The florist even said that the color and flowers say sorry and I bought a dozen to say I'm sorry a dozen times over. I would have bought the entire stock but they wouldn't fit in the car." He grinned sheepishly.
"Can I come in, I really would like to talk to you." He hoped his southern charm would still work on her, if not he'd be stubborn until she'd listen to him.

Holly tried to hide the smile that began to curl her lips as Slate appeared from behind the flowers, apologizing and asking for forgiveness. In her mind, he did not need to do either, he had had a rather normal reaction considering the circumstances. Still, it was always nice to get flowers. She took them from him gently as not to disturb them.
"Look Slate, it was..I don't want to say accident or a mistake...it was just unplanned..I mean..yeah it happened a lot earlier then I would have thought. I was with Nick for a full year before we got physical..but it's too late to turn back." She smiled softly, sniffing the flowers. "The flowers are beautiful." She told him.
Stepping out of the doorway to let him in, Holly smiled again. "Yeah sure.." She said, biting back a soft groan as her belly was taken in another painful cramp. She was looking forward to a heating pad and sime midol later.

At least he didn't end up on his ass with purple flowers dumped on his head. It was a relief when she took the flowers off his hands.
"I'm still sorry it happened. I had hoped my first time was when I got married." he admitted. "I will admit, should it happen again, I'll be more prepared." He hoped that there would be a next time but not for awhile. "I didn't want to be like Patch and leave you high and dry. I...I care about you too much." He lowered his head slightly, looking up with his brown eyes and a small smile. "Not as beautiful as you."
As he stepped inside, he noticed Holly's look. "You feeling alright? Let's get you sat down, I'm your slave for the night. I will get you whatever you want."

Holly smiled, leading him into the living room, where the discarded blanket and melting pint of icecream were indicators of an afternoon spent uncomfortable. "I know, andI'm sorry that was ruined for you..I don't know how it happened last night..." She looked over at him for a moment, biting her lower lip gently.
"I'm always prepared in case it happens again, I promise you." She told him." She shuddered slightly, thinking of Patch, Nick's twin brother and overall general pain in the ass. "I dated Nick, not Patch, I wouldn't touch Patch with a ten foot pole..ever." She grinned.
Her heart melted when he called her beautiful. It was things like this that reminded her why she had found herself falling for the gentle southern boy instead of her usual jock.
"Yeah, I'm alright..I got that..morning after thing like I said I would...and it's kinda making my crampy and upset stomach." She scrunched up her nose slightly. "Ooh...my personal slave for the night..I like that idea..."

"The main thing is that it happened and its over and there is nothing we can do to change it. Let's just count our blessings that nothing more happened."
"Sorry my bad, I won't make that mistake again." Not that he knew the twin but still it was a part of Holly's past that he hoped never came back to haunt her.
"If you're having troubles, let's get you comfortable here on the couch." He lead her to there and pulled a blanket up around her. "Can I get you anything? Water? Asprin? Or just some company?" He couldn't imagine the pain she was going through so she deserved the best care he could offer for right now.
"If you feel better later, maybe we could go for a drive. No where in particular, just drive and get some fresh L.A. air, or as fresh as it can be." He laughed.
