On the Bright Side of Life (Mikasi: Open, Any)

Life in Beverly Hills at times was hectic, Haley rarely had a day off where she could just do as she please.But today was one of those days,that she had off that she could do as she please. And really,she did not want do much but just relax and be normal girl for once. Yeah,but normality was not the same for her as the other girls. Her normality was not too well define,even when she was not on the spotlight, Haley had to be her in toes and always keep in her toes because she never knew when the press could be around.And the last thing,she wanted was to have picture of her drooling or picking her boogers in the cover of the tabloids. It was not very flattering.

She observed the girl and the boy and just kind of made mental picture of them, the girl did not know what to think of them yet. For now,she was going be friendly and not her usual stand offish.Haley just smiled at them as she took seat next to Kayla, she wonder why she was being so friendly now. The girl just smiled at her two classmates as she though for couple minutes.

"Yeah,I invited a couple sophomores.And then I invited my A-lister and celebrity friends.But seriously,if you need ride or help shopping,let me know. I can have my driver pick you both all from your houses."Haley smiled as she ate her salad, it was going be interesting sweet sixteen to say the least. The girl just smiled as she looked around and then gave glance to her Ferrari.

Mikasi's brows furrowed in a frown when Haley started to talk about her guest list to her coming party. He didn't think that was particularly necessary, but then again she didn't name drop so she wasn't a complete lost cause. He was new in town and maybe this was what the popular kids did in LA, he knew he could live without that side of the life in this city if that was the case.

"I don't really know the area, but if you give me some way to find your house. I will be able to get there under the power of my two legs." Mikasi said to her.

He had enough decent clothes in his wardrobe to be able to go to a party, he had one suit and plenty of shirts and trousers. His dad insisted upon him having something to wear in case he needed to go to some official function. Not that he ever did but his father insisted that it would be a useful thing to have, for when he was growing up.

The idea of someone other than his father driving him somewhere, ie a chaffeur was foreign to him it just wasn't the done thing in his family. They didn't have people wait on them, they did the things themselves.

"The party sounds like it will be fun." he said he didnt really think it would be his cup of tea, but he decided to show interest as he thought it was the thing to do.

So it seemed that perhaps there would be a few other sophomores at the party, but Kayla doubted they'd be the people she normally hung around with unless Haley decided to be randomly nice to some other people too. She seemed to be sort of bragging about her famous friends, otherwise why would she be referring to them as celebrity A-listers? Did she think that Kayla or Mikasi were into that sort of thing? Maybe Mikasi was impressed, but Kayla wasn't--okay, she was sort of impressed, she was just mostly put off by for what she considered to be bragging.

"I'm sure that I can find my own way," Kayla agreed. Okay, maybe getting picked up by a chauffeur did sound pretty cool, but Kayla wasn't even sure if she'd definitely go. Perhaps if Mikasi said he was definitely going... Sure, they weren't best friends, sure they hardly knew one another, but Kayla was pretty sure that they could be friends. He seemed pretty nice. Sure, Haley was being very nice too, but to Kayla that was more of a surprise. After all, it wasn't as if either Kayla or Haley were new to the school and Kayla was pretty sure that before this random moment, she'd never been worth Haley's time. It wasn't that Kayla blamed the other girl for it--after all Kayla was quite, she couldn't afford expensive clothes, had a modest sized house. Kayla just wasn't the type of person who would ever be on Haley's radar and after tonight, she doubted that Haley would ever bother with her again.

She smiled and nodded in agreement that the party sounded fun. "Yeah, totally," she agreed, "thanks again for the invite," she said looking down at the invitation, which she slipped into her purse. At that moment her phone started to ring. "Oh, that's my brother," Kayla said. "I better go. Nice seeing you both...see you guys in school on Monday," she told them as she got up from the bench and grabbed her bag of food. "Bye," she said, giving them a wave as she walked toward her brother who was driving a Honda Fit. She got into the car and tossed the bag of food on his lap.

"Ready?" he asked.

"Yep," Kayla said with a nod and she buckled up and he started to drive away.

Haley just looked at her I-Phone,there were messages coming in about an event she had to attend. The girl really did not want leave McDonalds but she had to for now,if not she was not going able to make it to the event like she wanted. She sighted as she text back and just looked around,the girl really did not want leave now. But she guessed other duties called that she needed to perform, she could not just bum around all day without not doing much.

She stood up and smiled at Mikasi, "Well,I must get going.". Haley smiled as she gave him kiss in the cheek and just grabbed her purse and walked away. The girl did not want to attend the event tonight but she had to,her parents wanted her there. Haley opened the door to her Ferrari and slid in,she put the keys in the ignation and just backed out. She blasted her music as she drove away towards Beverly Hills.
