Mikasi made his way back to his dads store after spending a couple of hours with the girls, it had been a lot of fun down on the pier and he had made what he hoped was a couple of friends in the process of the afternoon. He had almost lost his lunch on the dodgems which would have been embarrasing but then he thought that would have been part and parcel of the afternoon. Now he was hungry for something more than a hotdog so as he walked into the store he could see his dad at the counter.
"Mikasi I thought you might be back here earlier than this." his father said to him as he parked his ass down on the counter. "Get of the counter son, people have to put their tools on that." the man said with a smile causing him to laugh as he hopped down.
"Are you ready to go dad." Mikasi asked.
"I have someone coming in for a big order in a little while, so no not yet." his father said to him before handing him some money. "Go get a dinner for yourself of your choice, I will eat at home... but you shouldn't have to wait for me. Do not be home to late Miki." he said to him.
"I won't be papa." Mikasi said to him.
"Do you still have money from this morning?" he asked.
"Yes sir." Mikasi said to him with a smile the man nodded as he watched the boy go out the back to retrieve his skate board and said good bye.
He took his skateboard down the boardwalk in search of a decent cheap place to eat. Finally settling on MacDonalds set furth back from the beach. He picked up his order before taking a seat in the outside garden thingy, he didnt know what it was but it was perfect for a place to eat in LA at this time of day. MacDonalds wasn't his first choice but it was a good choice for a place to eat, plenty of people talking around him mostly tourists by the sounds of their accents. But then he wasn't native to LA so it kind of applied to him as well.
Tag anyone.

Kayla smiled as she walked down the boardwalk along side her brother. Since he'd gone off to college, she hadn't seen much of him since it was so far away, however, his school had an early Spring break, so he'd come home this morning. Alden already had late night plans for Saturday with some of his high school friends that had gone to school around here, however since those plans weren't until after 10pm anyway, he'd promised to take Kayla to a movie before they took off.
"You know, I'm kind of hungry," Alden said. "We should grab something to eat before the movie...don't really want popcorn dinner or theatre hot dogs," her older brother said, making a face.
Kayla looked down at her baby blue sport watch, that she wore all the time. "I don't know if we'll have time, unless we like eat in the car or something," she said looking up at her brother. Her long brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she was dressed in a pair of jeans and a dark green jersey knit top. They happened to be passing by the McDonalds when she pointed this out.
"Tell ya what," Alden said, glancing over at it. "Go grab us some food and I'll grab the car. We parked a few blocks away anyway, it will be perfect."
Kayla cringed, "You know I'm not a fan of fast food," she said, pausing for a moment before letting out a sigh. The look on her brother's face was fast food or movie theatre food. At least here she could maybe get something healthy-ish...maybe... Due to Kayla being so into sports, mainly track, she liked to keep healthy. It wasn't that she never ate fast food or junk food, she just preferred not to. Plus, there were plenty of fast food options better than McDonalds...but none were really on the way to the theatre so she'd have to settle. "Fine," she said, "go get the car and call me."
Kayla walked into the restaurant, glad there was no line. She ordered her brother the burger meal she knew he liked and she got a grilled chicken sandwich for herself. Once she paid and got the food, she figured she'd head to the corner to wait for her older brother. However passing through the garden area to get there, she noticed Mikasi who was in her class at Silver. She didn't know him particularly well or anything and she wasn't exactly an outgoing person or anything, but she was pretty sure it would be rude not to say anything at all. Catching is eye, she smiled and gave him sort of an awkward wave. "Hey," she said, walking toward him.

Mikasi looked up from his burger and smiled, he'd not been paying attention to who was around him, he recognized the girl when he saw her but he couldn't really place her name. He knew that she was in her class or at the very least in his year at Silver. He really had to better if the girl was in his class, he thought that he should at the very least know her name. He had been at silver for six months after all, the I don't know your name excuse was becoming pretty lame he thought.
"Oh hi, your in my class right?" he asked. "Sorry I can't place a name to you, to my embarrassment I'm not very good with names in this school anyway." Mikasi said to her. "Your obviously here getting food so not point in asking about that, but would you like to join me or is someone waiting for you?" Mikasi asked her see that their seemed to be enough food to feed two people not one but you could never know for sure. "I'm Mikasi in case you didn't know." he added with a small smile before taking some fried and taking the time to eat them while keeping his attention on the girl.

Kayla wasn't really surprised when he didn't know her name. Most people didn't, unless they played sports. Sports people tended to know her since they were usually the people she ended up hanging out with. Plus, she'd won a trophy last year at the big regional track meet, so people knew her for that too. "It's okay," she said. "I'm Kayla. Yeah...I'm a sophomore at Silver too...or I guess Gould now. I don't really know what's going on with all that," she said.
She smiled when he asked if she wanted to join him. "I can for a bit, but I'm waiting for my brother," she explained. "He's home from college for a bit, so we were just grabbing food and then we were going to catch a movie," she explained. "But I can hang out until he calls," she offered, adding, "Yeah, I know," about his name. "I think its easier for me because I remember when you transferred. I only had to remember your name cause I already knew everyone else. You have to remember everyone's names which is much harder," she told him.
She sat down at the table and pulled her cell phone out so she'd make sure to catch it once it rang. She then dug into her bag so she could pick on some fries until Alden returned with the car. "So, how you liking LA so far?" she asked. "Where'd you move from anyway?" she asked, trying to make polite conversation. Kayla wasn't exactly shy but she wasn't exactly outgoing either. She wasn't always the best at making friendly conversation.

It was late afternoon, the girl had just spent her day at her parent's other Estate in Malibu and now it was time to head back to the Hills, as much she did not want to. Yeah, she preferred being in Malibu rather the Hills even though the Hills was more chique and trendy. And the only thing, she joined been in Malibu that she was not driving her usual Bentley convertible, she was driving her Father's 2010 Ferrari Enzo which was such sweet ride. But now as she was coming back to the Hills, the hungry had hit her and she had to find something eat. Sure, she could wait until she hit Beverly but she was too hungry for that.
As she was driving down the highway, she spotted a McDonald, yeah not her favorite place to be spotted at. But right now, she did not care if anybody saw her in McDonalds, she was hungry and was about to eat. She exited the high way and then pulled up into the parking lot. The girl open the suicide door and just walked out. Haley put her Fendi purse on her shoulder and fixed her blouse and mini-skirt and proceeded to walk in. The girl smiled as she looked around for any faces, she recognized. After ordering and paying for her food, she picked up her order and just walked outside to the garden. The day was too beautiful to be stuck inside, she was going enjoy it to the fullest.
She took seat in a table nearby and just noticed two faces that she though that she recognized. And probably she did, but they were not type of people that she would like to be associated with. Haley gave them smile and just took seat in a table nearby and she just looked out in the horizon and digged into her food.

Mikasi nodded, "It doesn't really help that they keep swapping from seperate schools to joined schools. It makes it hard to adjust, I went to a small school back home with mostly people from my own kind I guess you could say." Mikasi said with slight embarrassment that this was the first time that he was in a true mixed school. "I'll try to get better at remembering peoples names, it shouldn't be that hard... its not like it goes in one ear and out the other." Mikasi pointed out.
"I come from Arizona, my mom and little brother and actually my entire family apart from my dad still live on the reservation. When I was eight we came here to go to Disney land, but this is the first time I have lived so far from where I was born." Mikasi said with a shake of his head. "But I like LA, I plan to learn to surf and maybe see whether I can get a sun tan, I don't know whether that's really possible and for it to show but its worth a try anyway." Mikasi said to her. "So few people I have met are really people I would rather have not met. Every body has been so kind since I came here." Mikasi explained with a genuine smile.
He spotted someone he had seen at school give them a close eye before sitting at one of the other tables in what he thought was probably a complete snob of the pair of them. Not that it really bothered him all that much, but the snub was done in such an obvious way he thought that she may have tried to make a point. So he gave a polite wave and a smile to the girl before returning his attention to the girl.
"Speaking of such people one just sat down at a table close by." he said to them. "So were you from here or did you move here?" he asked her.

"Yeah, I know," Kayla said. "That's confused me too and I'm not new," she said. "I can't even imagine...like if we ever go back to Silver it will be like a completely different school. You've probably spent more time at Gould," she pointed out. She didn't really think much of the mixed school thing, especially after he mentioned the reservation. It seemed normal that reservations would have their own schools. Kayla had always been to mixed schools though, as she'd always gone to public school.
"Yeah, I've never really surfed before. I feel like its something I should learn since I'm here though," she said. "I moved here when I was in 7th grade," she said. "My dad got a new job. I'm from Philadelphia originally, on the East Coast. It's so different but I like it here, especially the weather. I do miss Philly sometimes though...mostly because they have some foods we don't have here," she explained.
It was at that point that Haley Atkinson walked out. Kayla also knew her from her classes but was less tempted to say hi that she had been to Mikasi. Haley wasn't very nice to people and while Kayla probably wasn't even on her radar, Kayla thought that perhaps it was better she's stay that way. Still, Haley smiled so Kayla smiled back to be polite. She then turned to Mikasi. "That's Haley Atkinson--she's in our class too," she whispered, "she acts like she's better than everyone."

The girl just looked at her I-Phone and just saw the messages that were coming in, she was always flooded with messages. There was not day it did not go by,that the girl did not have her text inbox full. Even though, she rarely had time to answer all of them, she answered as much as she could. Friendships and contacts were important in her life, thats how she got ahead in her life.
Haley gave glance to the other table, she though she had been rude to just ignore them. The least she could have done is say hi not ignore them like they did not exist.Sure, she might not pay attention to them within school but they werent in school, they were out in McDonalds. That was not her typical attitude, she might gotten bitcher but she was still nice.
The girl walked to the other table and just smiled at them.Really she did not know what to say to them, she had been bitch and she knew it. Haley opened her Fendi purse and took two invitations to her upcoming Sweet Sixteen party in Malibu. She handed one invitation to each one of them and smile, "That is an invitation to my upcoming Sweet Sixteen Bash in Malibu, you are welcome to come.Actually consider yourself invited,if you need anything for party just let me know."She paused for minute, "I'm Haley by the way.Sorry I did not say hi before I was busy asnwering some texts."

Mikasi grinned, "I know what you mean about home, I tend to get home sick sometimes... like I said this is the farthest I've been from home and the longest time I've spent from home in my life. When my parents decided to get a divorce I decided to keep my dad company, I didn't want him to be alone and without family in a new city. I don't even regret it most of the time, I'd like to see more of home than I do right now." he admitted. "I mean sure I have a home here in LA, but it isn't really my home." Mikasi explained to her.
He was pretty traditional, he wanted to keep his ancestors ways alive in the future. It was something that was very important to him, everything else was secondary to him. He really already knew what he wanted to do with his career and life.
He watched Hayley come over and offer them invites to some party, her party apparently. He wasn't Mr. popular in school he was Mr. New guy who wanted to make a good impression and not be one of these kids who slinked through high school. It was harder here than it had been at home, at home his group were the popular kids. Not that they really saw it that way, but he thought it would be seen that way in a normal school.
"Nice to meet you Haley, I'm Mikasi and don't worry about it we all have a place we go when we are busy in our minds." Mikasi said to her then took a bite out of his burger.

"Yeah, I can understand that," Kayla said. She could imagine being in a new city all alone would be quite scary. After all, being in a new town with her entire family had still been scary. She couldn't really relate to the whole parents splitting up though...her's were ridiculously happy. It was actually annoying sometimes. "Yeah, well my brother he was older when we moved, so he went back to Philly for college. I don't know what I'll do, I still have a few more years to figure that out," she said. By the time she reached college age she'd have been in LA for almost as long as she'd been in Philly so who knew how'd she'd feel about the different cities.
Kayla also watched Haley come over, expecting her to just say something snobby or mean. For the most part Kayla stayed under the radar. She was popular by no means, but she also wasn't nerdy enough to get make fun of the majority of the time. But she'd seen Haley in action before so she knew what the other girl was capable of.
Kayla sat there sort of staring when Haley gave them invitations to her party. "Oh...are you um, inviting all the sophomores?" she asked, still wondering why she was invited, unless it was some kind of joke, although Kayla liked to see the best in people so she wanted to think that Haley wouldn't make fun of her. After all, maybe Kayla didn't wear the fancy things that Haley did but it wasn't like her clothes were K-Mart of anything. "Uh...thanks," she said, adding, "Yeah, don't worry about it," when Haley explained about not saying hi earlier. "So, what have you been up to?" Kayla asked, being polite. Kayla was always polite. However, she'd gone to the same school as Haley and was in the same grade as her for some time now, yet she was pretty sure they'd never said two words to each other before, so Kayla had to admit that she did feel a little awkward.
