Tina woke up Saturday morning and remembered that Tyler was off on some kind of pilgrimage to his own God… getting a new woman. She sighed, wishing he wasn’t such a horn dog. “Well today is the perfect time to try my own campaign to make a mark in L.A.” she said to herself as she hugged Maggie and slid her legs out of bed. She rushed through her shower, but was careful doing her makeup, which was fresh and natural looking. Then she dressed in a pair of black shorts with suspenders and a dark purple shirt with black stripes. A pair of black leather hi-tops and she was all set. She decided on the pier, mainly cause she knew where it was and it was central to everywhere else. She was practically jumping with excitement as she ran out to get in her new car, it’s dark purple finish making her heart beat wildly with joy. Maggie barked beside her and jumped in to sit in the passenger seat happily. Tina chuckled and let her stay for if no one else wanted to talk to her at least she would have Maggie for a walk on the beach. She had her black bikini on under her clothes if it got warm enough later. The air was cool as she drove downtown and she was glad she hadn’t put her top down. She parked and walked toward the entrance, her long black silky hair swinging against her back and Maggie trotting beside her, looking at everything in bright button-eyed wonder. She headed for the hot dog stand, suddenly realizing she hadn’t eaten breakfast. She passed a balloon vender and on a whim bought a handful which she tied to Maggie’s collar. The dog barked happily at them, then wolfed down the hot dog Tina gave her. Tina nibbled on her own and sat to watch the people. She hoped she didn’t see anyone from the party. She didn’t need the reminder of what a failure that had been.
