Ella’s party had been awesome! There was no doubt in Evan’s mind that it had to be in the top three parties of the year, that he had attended, so far. And if he hadn’t been invited in the first place, it clearly wasn’t going to be a good party anyway. He got to drink, eat so much good food and talk to practically everyone who turned up, not to mention got to sneak kisses with Brit whenever he spotted the girl. All a win-win for him.
There was only one small downside to all of his fun, when he woke up the next morning, having slept face down on top of his covers, still fully dressed. Evan wasn’t feeling quite so Evan-ish. He knew immediately it wasn’t anything to do with the drinks he consumed during the course of the night. He’d only had half a dozen or so.
No, he suspected it had more to do with the, at the very least, one dozen delicious cupcakes he consumed, not to mention the countless other goodies he had stuffed in his mouth the night before. It was a little after ten that he managed to get himself out of bed, and straight into the shower, keeping his eyes close shut in the short journey from bedroom to bathroom, the light was too bright otherwise.
And it was around half an hour after that for Evan to be dressed and somewhat decent, though his hair really could use a comb through it, and after spending a few minutes catching up with his mum, he was out of the house. He left his car, instead deciding to walk to the mall, hoping the exercise would help him feel good. And build up his appetite, he really felt like some pancakes.

Hannah was hitting the mall early this morning. Down about hearing the news of Ella's party (to which she was not invited for some reason), she had decided to get some new clothes for the spring. Not that the weather was much different in L.A. season to season, but it was still an excuse to shop. Plus, other interesting tidbits of last night were passing amongst many of the cheerleaders, and Hannah hoped to run into someone who might have been at the party to confirm these rumors.
Things were going poorly, however. None of this season's clothes were striking Hannah's fancy. They all seemed the same as the clothes she had, and the colors just weren't attractive. A sigh escaped her lips as she set down yet another top and glanced around the store in a vain hope for something cute.
And something cute she found, though not in the store. Evan Hughes had just entered the mall and was walking past the store front. He and Brittney told each other everything, it seemed, so if anyone could clear up the details, it was him. Plus, it was always fun to be in Evan's company, and since the little cheer-hater didn't seem to be attached at his hip, Hannah might even get to talk with him before he ran away. She quickly left the store and hurried to catch up with him.
“Now Evan Hughes,” she called ahead playfully, trying to walk as quickly as she could in her heels. “How could you force a gal to walk so quickly to catch up with you? Wait for me?” She pulled her purse further up on her shoulder and she tried to remain gracefully quick. It was not an easy endeavor.
As she neared him, she tried to smile and seem pleasant, hoping that for a moment his rule of not being friends would be forgotten. If this rumor was true, she might just be able to kiss this boy yet!

He heard his name being called, of course he did, he wasn’t deaf, but still, Evan wasn’t exactly paying attention to it. Instead, 57 percent of his focus was on what he should eat, his original idea of pancakes now facing stiff competition from all the other yummy food on offer in the mall. Of his remaining focus, 34 percent was trying to work out how much money he had left in his bank account, and how much he could use for food and DVDs today, while the leftover 9 percent was currently pondering if the dark mark on his already dark brown t-shirt was part of a pattern or a stain. He didn’t think it was a stain, it had to be a clean shirt. He didn’t think it had been on his floor for long.
But eventually, when he realised he was no longer alone, he snapped out of his daze, though he was surprised to realise just who joined him. He wasn’t sure if he should be happy, or worried, that it was Hannah, and that was something he really didn’t like. There was so much drama with it all, and he really didn’t like drama. He also didn’t like not being friends with people who seemed really nice, but he also didn’t want to risk hurting Brit, nothing was worth that.
A quick glance around told him though that it was just him and Hannah around, well, of the people he knew, and they did just kind of run into each other, so maybe it was ok. And he was hoping to see Brit today, and he would tell her he’d been talking to Hannah, so it wasn’t like he was trying to hide anything. So, deciding that it was ok, he stopped walking completely, turning to grin brightly at Hannah.
“Hey Hannah!” he greeted cheerily, as was his normally fashion with practically everyone, unless the person he was greeting was Jess, Aly or Jasper, and if that were the case, he wouldn’t be greeting as such, more like running away. “Sorry I made you chase after me. I mean, I did...didn’t I? Did you call out for me before? I was kinda lost in thought. And yes, I can think, before you say anything about that.” he smirked.
