(Character Name: Haley Rowan) (Location: Park on the swings)
Haley had decided to avoid Jaspers party. She felt bad because of Cam. She did not think he would have been able to really handle it. She would make up for it. She had called Cam up last night after school claiming she could not make it because of a family thing, but she wanted to make up for it tonight. Haley knew about the rave. Who didn't. She was not entirely sure she wanted to go, but she would give Cam the option. Besides she owed him a night alone. Haley quickly pulled out her phone to text Cam. Then she put it back as she walked over to the park. Although if Cam could magically show up in the park that would be better. Then she could explain in person.
Haley sighed as she walked along the path of the park. She spotted a swing set. Haley loved to swing. Ever since she was a kid the swings had been her favorite thing. She use to go as high as she could. Haley had been convinced she could have reached the stars. Haley smiled at the memory and walked over. She sat on the swing and started to slowly swing back and forth. This was also a great way to clear ones head. Wynn's words were coming back. By lunch the whole school seemed to know about her and Cam. Sarah and Trixie had not talked to her yet. Which sucked. Then again she had avoided them.
Haley had meant to tell them, but in person so she could explain. Who knew what they were thinking. All Haley knew was Wynn was a dead man. The girl Wynn gave his little note too had walked over to Haley and told her she knew about Haley dating a geek and soon the whole school would know. Then the girl showed Haley the note and told her who gave it to her. The smug bitch. Haley continued to swing higher. She started to think about things and did not even notice someone approaching.

Waking up much earlier than he was used to while he had been on tour, Dare fought to free himself of the tangle of hair that happened every morning. He kept telling himself, he would braid it before bed, but he always forgot. Rolling out of bed, he padded into the bathroom in his boxers. Today they were red with white hearts. Someone had tossed them to him during the last concert in East Germany. He had blushed but blew a kiss in the direction they had come from. They still had tags so he hadn't been worried about wearing them after wash.
He pissed and washed his hands and brushed his teeth before going to boot his laptop to see if he had anything scheduled for the day. There was a park beautification and food drive happening at one of the local parks. He decided that was the way to go for the morning. He dressed in his worst pair of jeans and a tank top along with a rather sad pair of converse sneakers. He tied a rolled up black bandana around his forehead, a la Brett Michaels to serve as a sweat band.
Dare checked downstairs, there was no one stirring. Marta their housekeeper had the weekends off so there was no breakfast and nothing to make it either as she wasn't used to them being back yet. He called his driver on his cell and told him to come get him, he had errands.
Once he was in the limo, they went through a drive through and got breakfast sandwiches made from bagels, eggs and sausage along with several cartons of orange juice. Then they went to the grocery store and got some nonperishable stuff for the food drive. Last they stopped at a garden center and got a few flats of flowers along with a spade as they had said bring tools.
They hadn't gotten started yet so he sat on a park bench and began to eat his breakfast. He noticed a girl swinging. She seemed kind of like she was flying to escape something. He walked over and said, "Hey... I have an extra bagel sandwich... would you like one and some orange juice?" He wasn't trying to hit on her, he liked boys, but he was friendly and she was alone so he thought it would be cool to try to get to know her. He didn't really know anyone around here as he had only gone to school for a couple of days before he got dragged off on tour.

Haley was flying away. Swinging could be very therapeutic. She closed her eyes and let the wind blow through her hair. She did not care if it made her hair fly in all sorts of places. It was nothing a hair tie could not fix. Haley had been thinking about things over and over. Mostly what to do about her conflicted emotions. Wynn had every right to be mad. She felt hurt that he was mad at her, which in turn made her feel like she was betraying Cam in some way. What a mess she was in. Haley was dragged out of her thoughts at the sound of a voice. She looked down as she swung and saw someone. At first Haley thought it was a girl. Long hair and a bandanna. It just looked like a female. Then the person spoke. Either she was a he or the person was a transvestite. Somehow Haley doubted the second option.
Haley slowly stopped the swing. It took her a few minutes. Once it was slow enough she jumped off. Not the smartest thing to do because she almost fell over, but Haley caught her balance before she hit the ground. Once Haley stood up and eyed the guy she smiled, "I think I am safe. Sorry if I bumped you. I guess I should have warned you I was going to jump." She laughed.
"Did you say a bagel sandwich and OJ?" She asked. Haley was not sure she had heard him before. She wanted to make sure she did not sound like an idiot, "You're nice to offer a stranger food. I'm Haley." She said introducing herself so they were no longer strangers. Well technically anyway. There could be poison in the sandwich, but if you spent most of your life not trusting people, then that's a sad life, "if that's what you said then please hand it over. I am starving. I missed breakfast."

Dare thought he was going to have to catch her, but was grateful that she managed to balance herself. They would have both gone down, not because she was big, she wasn't, but he was small. He gave her one of the bags and led her back to the bench which had flower flats and boxes of canned goods surrounding it. "I'm Dare Madison by the way. I am going to start going to Gould on Monday," he said as he sat down at one end of the bench.
"You're pretty good at swinging, I get too nervous to go so high. My dad says I fell out of a tree when I was little and I have been scared of heights ever since," he admitted as he pulled out one of his sandwiches and took a bite. "Are you hear for the park beautification or is it just a coincidence?"
He thought she was pretty if you liked girls. She had really nice hair that didn't seem too affected by the swinging. And she did her makeup nice too. Not overly done like some of the girls he had seen or even some of the guys.

Haley brushed her self off and smiled. She shook his hand, "Oh no...you go to the rival school." Haley laughed, "Haley Rowan. I go to Silver." She smiled. "Don't hold it against me. Sometimes I wish I went to Gould. At least for a day." She needed a break from Silver. Granted she got one for two weeks or so, but still. She needed a break.
Follows Dare to the bench and sits next to him, "Coincidence. I did not know about that. I simply came to swing. I use to come here as a kid. I like to swing. Going high. Its like a whole new world. One away from bratty guys who can't handle rejection." She said refering to Wynn. "Sorry, don't mind me and my rants."
Haley took a bite of her sandwich and thena drink and swollowed. "So did you just move to LA or are you from here, but transfering schools. I am a native. Born and raised in Holly wood." Haley told him. Sure she had traveled, but Hollywood was her home. She would not lie. Haley prefered the heat to the cold. She would rather have year round beach weather then winter. Maybe she should move to florida.

Dare smiled and chewed, taking a drink before he said anything. “I have only been to Gould a handful of days if that helps. “My dad travels a lot and I have always been with him until this year. He wants me to socialize with kids my own age… He thinks I am a bit of a geek I think. I had only been at school for a couple of days in the fall when he needed me to pull out to go help him over in Europe and we just got back yesterday,” he said with a shrug.
“Couldn’t you just transfer to Gould? I don’t want to pry but if you’re that uncomfortable you might be happier there. I don’t really know enough about either school to make a judgment. Personally I would rather go back to having a tutor. It’s not that I don’t like people. I just really don’t feel like I fit in. Everyone’s priorities are so different than what I am used to. Plus I will miss my dad when he goes out on tour again.”

Haley ate as the guy spoke. Transferring would be easier, but then Haley thought of Cam and cheering. She did love Silver. She loved it a lot. She was just having issues with this one guy. Mostly because of her own conflicted feelings, but she could not help it if she really did want Cam. "A tutor sounds nice. forget school." She laughed and then sighed.
"Transferring would not work. i do love Silver. I am just having issues with this one person. A silly fight that I am sure will blow over." She told Dare. "its just one of those things a good weekend off will cure. Helps me clear my head and all." She said with a smile. Or so she hoped. She liked the weekend. It was easier not to have to face school.
"You went to Europe for a semester. I am so jealous. That sounds like it was fun. I take it your dad is in a band. What kind of music does he play?" She was curious. Haley enjoyed hearing about the lives of others. "My dad is just a producer for Hollywood. As exciting as it may sound it can actually be quite boring." She laughed.

Dare chuckled and took Haley's idea and ate as she talked. "Having a tutor is okay sometimes, but when you're traveling in Europe and there is so much history it tends to inspire them. They don't understand that when you're up half the night because of a concert, that the last thing you really want at sunrise is to hike around sight seeing. I can't even begin to tell you how many cathedrals I stumbled through barely alive enough to open my eyes," Dare said his eyes twinkling with mirth. "My dad finally had to threaten him if he woke me before noon again. It started affecting my fingering and that was not cool."
"Yeah it's hard when things aren't copacetic with someone and you have to see them almost everyday. I hope things work out, but if you ever need someone to hang with, I am a really good listener and do my best to be nonjudgmental," Dare offered and tore open another bag which had cinnamon rolls, the big gooey kind. "Here, help yourself," he offered with a sincere smile.
"My dad's band plays heavy metal, you've probably heard of them... Toxic Religion, they still churn out a hit now and then, but they have a loyal following. Their lead guitarist did a nose dive into rehab so that's why I went to Europe with them. I got to play which was really cool. It will be a long time before my band will play venues like that, if at all," Dare said and then began to eat a roll with obvious relish.

Haley laughed. "I do not blame your dad. I would have my dad say the something. I do not like waking up early to come to school, but its something that must be done. I would much rather wake up at noon or one o'clock. I have been to Paris and Rome, both places filled with such history. And that was just on vacation. There was no way my family could see everything in time. Europe is defiantly one of those places it will take a life time to explore." She did like the idea though.
Haley took a cinnamon bun. She took a bite, "Thanks. I am sure things will get better sooner or later. I just have to wait it out. Its life. I will move on." Once she gets her revenge. Then again what would she do. She preferred to think about Cam, it would take her mind off things for a moment or two.
"I can't say I have heard of them or that kind of music, but I am always willing to at least listen to band and see what they are like. Music is artistic expression." She smiled. Haley loved all things art. She could not help it. The way people drew comics was awesome. Music was like that but in a different way.

"Europe was great, there is so much history. The people are on the edge though, very hip in every way. I think I could spend the rest of my life in Parish or Munich and never learn everything there is to know about those places or their people," Dare said, his blue eyes shining with enthusiasm. He nibbled on his cinnamon roll.
"Was this a romantic issue or just something with a friend or a bit of both? To me it seems like it is easier to deal with issues that were romantic, but then I have never had that kind of relationship. Losing good friends seems so much more painful," he mused.
Dare rummaged in his pocket and pulled out his ipod and earbuds. "I have the recording of our last concert in Germany on here. If you would like to listen. There is also some of my band on here. We are more emo alternative than metal though," he said offering it to her.
