It only took a short time to make the trip to the cafe a couple of blocks away and the rain - if anything - increased during that time. Felipe draped his jacket completely over LizBeth in the hopes of keeping her dry but he had a feeling his efforts would be in vain.
The place was pretty empty (hardly a surprise given the weather) and so they easily found a table towards the left side. Reasonably private and comfortable enough. "Tea?" he queried and he glanced at the small menu card on the table top. "And something to eat, I reckon. What will it be, LizBeth?" he asked.
They choices were made and the waitress vanished once more, allowing the trio to relax back and enjoy the remainder of the lunch break. With luck the rain would have eased up by the time they were ready for the return drive!
Unlikely, but it didn't hurt to hope, did it?
(tag for a wrap maybe as I'm vanishing for 2 weeks pretty soon YIPPEE!)

KiAn had never been in a tea room before even though he knew his mom and aunt would occasionally dress up and indulge in the British tradition. He took so many extracurricular classes that he just didn't have time for something so feminine and unnecessary. He stayed quiet as he realized the female didn't want him there.
(OOC: hope you're having a great time Fryn. miaa you)
