Zach wheeled himself into the cafeteria and almost passed out when he smelled what they were attempting to sell as lunch. He spun his chair around and headed back out, figuring he could cross the street to Wendy’s and save himself from food poisoning. His family had gone through enough already. He looked around to see if anyone else might want to join him. He preferred not to eat alone, but had been doing it a lot lately. The attack seemed to have scared off anyone wanting to associate with him.
Going full speed across the parking lot, he stopped before crossing. Luckily the lunch time traffic was light and he didn’t have to wait too long for the crossing light. The parking lot was pretty sparse as well and some nice lady held the door open for him. For the first time in a very long time, he was hungry. He ordered a double cheeseburger and a baked potato, wheeling it and his large coke to a table by the window where he could watch the passers by. This only made him feel lonelier, so he dug in his backpack and pulled out some new comics and began to read.
