People should probably have been checking the temperature of hell, Blake Patterson probably the grumpiest and angriest guy in school or certainly among that particular group and probably very near to the top of that list. Was walking round with a smile like a chesire cat, where ever he went normally he had a scowl on his face and looked like he could kill you if you said something to him. Nope he was having a good day, his sister seemed to still be after Ashley whether that was an issue any more or not wasn't really down to him.
No his good mood was due to the fact that his father had backed down on some family councilling, the last thing he wanted right was to deal with his father in the same room as him for any more than a couple of minutes. He had taken to eating meals in his bedroom at his desk rather than eat with his father, this had caused more than enough issues in the family. All he actually wanted from his father was for the man to leave him alone, it wasn't much to ask. But the old man was under the delusion that if he bugged Blake enough he would simply forgive the man for his crimes.
"Hell will freeze over before that happens." Blake said to himself as he entered the cafeteria with a smile and joined the que for food... soon enough he was looking for a place to sit and found a small table that wasn't busy. He made his way to the table and its occupant. "Would you mind if I sat here?" he asked politely.
Yeah hell had really frozen over Blake Patter friendly... what next.

Elena looked up at the voice and a smile broke out across her face. It was the guy she talked to before. "Of course" she said. "Nice to see you again Blake" she said and took a drink of a soda. "How have you been?" she asked him and sat back. She was glad that she was not sitting alone right now. Her day has been stressful, things keep dissappering and popping up in her locker when she has not been to it. She was sick to death of it, and to have a familar face in front of her was a great comfort.
She crossed her legs as he has sat down. Who knows maybe she could call him friend one day. "How have you been?" she asked him and took nother bite of her salad. She sat her fork down and let her body relax. She has been ridged all day not sure what to expect, and she did not want Blake to think she was weird or nuts. She ran a hand through her long dark hair and shook her out her head. Pressure was on her head so she poped a few pills and drank some water. "I have the worst bitch of a headache" she said. "I don't even want to be here and I never skip" she said with a laugh.

Blake smiled at Elena as he sat down near here, not wishing to invade her personal space of have his invaded either. Said girl he had spoken to before, but he didn't really see said girl as a friend, just someone he knew. To be a friend he would have to know her better than he did right at that very moment in time. Which meant maybe opening his heart up to new people, not really his thing so he told himself anyway.
"Hey Elena." he said with a smile. "I haven't been to bad thank you." he replied. "How about you?" he asked.
He grinned at her, "If you want to skip school trust me I understand that need to get the hell out of this dump." Blake said to her with a grin on his face. "But you probably don't want to say something like that in the school, not the cafeteria anyway, to many teachers that come through here witha regular occurence." Blake said to Elena. "I have some pain killers in my bag if you would like a couple... its just paracetamol but it will do just the trick if you have a headache." Blake said to her.
"So what have you been up to since I last spoke to you?" he asked her.

"I have been better trust me" Elena said. If she did not have on some normal light make up her dark cirlces would be evident she was sure of that. "I wish I was at home in bed all day, I hardly got any sleep last night" she said with a laugh. Of course she might not get much until she talks this thing out of her house and away from her. Time to take on the firmness with it to make it leave her house and leave her alone. She looked at him when he spoke about pain killers. "Please yes what I took this morning did not help at all" she admited to him. "I need something more then advil or tylnol I need something stronger" she looked over at him.
"Trust me I might wander out of her after lunch for the day" she said when she saw no teachers. "Have no idea where to go or what to do but I can't stay I can't concentrate" she shrugged and drank some more of her drink. "Work and school it seems all I do" she said with a laugh and a smile. Of course she was sure that made her sound like a bigger loser then what she was. She had fun with all she did but she just did not know really anyone to hang out with in her free time or that invited her places. "And I am sure I sound like some loser but I dont' know anyone that well outside of school to hang with them" she said honestly. She ate some more of her food and looked over at him. "Now I am sure you must think I am a bigger loser then what I am" she shrugged.
Elena was not one that would ever be part of the cool crowd and that was okay with her. She was fine being considered a loser, she was happy with who she was. And she knew her worth was not measure by how popular she was, this was just high school it did not determine the rest of your life and things change in the real world. And she knows she can handle the real world, has handled it for a while now since her parents deaths.

Blake smiled as he pulled his bag on to his lap and opened up one of the side pockets and pulled out a small box of paracetamol before passing the box to Elena. "Their you go you might as well keep them, their are only four left in there anyway, I usually keep the painkillers in the bag just in case I get a serious case of I don't want to be here headache syndrome." Blake said to her. "I also find it helps blot out the pain of my sister screaming down my ear for one reason or another." Blake said to her.
He was definitely not one of the popular kids, if that was what it took to be popular in school he wanted nothing to do with it. Their might have been a time when he would have been one of the popular kids but that had changed since his brother had died, it never seemed to cross his mind that his brother would be angry to see what he had become.
"Being popular is for people who will be obese by the time they turn thirty and in a dead end job." Blake said to her with a shake of his head. "People who want to climb the popularity scale hold no interest for me, people who want to be themselves and sod the rest of the world they are the people I like to deal with. Or at least the people who have their heads screwed on." He said to her with a smile on his face.
"No you seem liike a person who is driven, being a loser and driven are two different things. See my dad is a loser but his driven to, normally driven to drive me up the wall but still his driven. I get out of bed in the morning to the General usually screaming about lazy gits who like their beds to much." Blake said with a grin. "Well okay maybe not calling us lazy gits but the shouting is the truth." Blake said to him. "The man finally retires from the Army and we still get the drill sergant routine, I wouldn't mind so much but that man has never been an enlisted officer in his entire career. He shouts because he likes to shout and because he can." Blake said to her.
"So don't worry about it, you can be all the loser you want, just so long as your happy about it." he added.
