The lunch bell couldn't sound quickly enough for Christophe Broussard. He rammed his books into his back pack and bolted from teh class room, only vaguely hearing the teacher call out their homework assignment. He was in far too much of a hurry to stop for something as mundane as that. Christophe didn't even bother going back to his locker to dump off his books. Instead he slung his pack over one shoulder, apologised- sor tof - to the person he smacked in the back of the head with it and then sprinted for the gym.
"No running in the hallways!"
Christophe half waved a hand in acknowledgement of the teacher's reminder and as soon as he'd rounded the next corner he broke into a run once more.
The gym was empty - as expected. Empty, that is, barring Sarissa who was sitting on a low bench, her bag at her side.
Christophe ground to a standstill and caught his breath before walking (nonchalently? A bad attempt, it needed saying) over to where she sat.
"Hi," he greeted. "You realise you have me in all sorts of curiosity. Please don't tell me you are merely going to hurl a custard pie into my face!"

Sari hated the rain. It ruined a perfectly good day. She hoped it cleared up for the weekend or else she might be forced to rethink her plans. Not that she could not go another weekend, but Sari wanted to see how Tyler would handle the sweatlodge, ceremonies and other stuff she had wanted to torture him with this weekend. She meant torture in a very nice way. It was rather fun activities, but funny for new people. However, that did not resolve her current issue, where to have lunch that was not the stinky cafeteria.
Sari picked a bench in the corner of the bleachers. She brought her lunch as always. This time it was some left over chicken and rice she had, with a slice of pie for later. She texted Christophe to let him know exactly where in the gym she was just in case he was going to show. If not, no big deal she would give him the books when she saw him. She hoped he liked the books as well as the wooden animal carving of an Orca. She could not help herself. She thought he would appreciate it more then she would.
Sari spread her legs out over the bench. She opened a magazine she had been reading and began to eat. That's when she heard a voice and looked up, "Did you run all the way over here." She asked with a light giggle. "Actually its a chocolate pie and that sounds very tempting instead of giving you what is in my bag. Now you have to wait longer," As she was laughing she felt him sit on her legs. Of course she could tell the he was not putting his full body weight into the whole sitting situation, but still, "Excuse me...you are sitting on my legs." She commented with a smile.

"Me? Run? Whatever makes you..." He broke off to catch his breath again. "... think that!" He laughed and dropped down onto the bench... and onto her outstretched legs. "Oh, pardon," he quickly said and he slid off her limbs with a wry grin. "They are so long," he pointed out in his defense.
Sarissa gathered her legs back and beneath her, allowing Christophe the space to sit at her side. "What do you have for lunch today?" he asked. "I have crêpes avec fromage et jambon. Aahh... cheese and ham. I think I also have a sweet one for dessert. Would you like to share?" While he loved the traditional French pancakes he wasn't against dividing them up and swapping half for some of her lunch. Variety was, after all, the spice of life!
"And then you can sate my curiosity," he added. "I have been unable to concentrate on my classes this morning since I received your text. What do you have for me, Sarissa?" A child on Christmas Eve came very much to mind right about now! "Please," Christophe went on. "My misery is endless and I have to know." He laughed as he spoke but he was also keen to find out what had caused his summons to the gym...

"Oh you ran...thats cute." Sari told him. "Something tells me you knew my legs were there." She pulled them back and and sat Indian style now on the bench. Which was not the most comfortable position, but for now it would do. No doubt she would change her sitting position again, soon. for now she was enjoying her wicked grin as she teased about what she had for him. He brought up lunch and she offered the container, "Chicken and rice. It's good, along with a few other snacks to get me through the day. IF you don't mind using my fork, be my guest and have some, you stuff looks very good." It smelled good too. "You want to know whats in my bag and here I thought you joined me for the pleasure of my company but I see how it is. Use me fro gifts. Shame on you." Sari teased. "Perhaps I should make you wait just a little longer." She kept teasing as she moved her legs to hang over the bench and reached down into her bag. "I saw these items and I thought of you." She told him. She pulled out the first book. "I know you are more into marine life, but I was wondering if you would not mind reading a book about other animals. This is a Native American Folklore book, about an ancient Myth. The book is by Fiona French, She is quite intelligent. It's called "Lord of the Animals: A Native American Creation Myth". I hope you like it. I found it interesting and humorous." Sari handed the book over. She let him look over the book about creation. This was not to press any sort of religion on him, the book was for fun only. She pulled out a second book, "I remember you told me you were going for a job interview at the aquarium. By the way you never called or texted me about it to tell me if you got the job, but I had faith in you so here is a book about Dolphin emotions. I am not sure if you are working with them, whale, or something else, but here you go. It's called "The Smile of a Dolphin: Remarkable Accounts of Animal Emotions'. I hope you like it." Sari knew it was a bit more scientific, but it seemed to be a tad bit interesting. "And Last, here. I got this from the Chief of the tribe I go visit. I thought you would appreciate it more then i would." It was a wood carving of a whale. www.risingtidesculpture.com/portfolio_11/baby_blue_whale.jpgOOC: Thats a link to a picture of what the carving looks like

Christophe threw Sarissa a wry grin when she teased him about his haste in reaching the gym but he would be the first to admit his curiosity had been aroused. Let her torment him... he honestly didn't mind. Besides, revenge had been his when he'd squashed her legs!
"I swear the gift is merely an added bonus," he replied with a far too 'innocent' look on his face and one totally at odds with the persistent grin he also wore.
He leaned closer when she handed him the book. "The authoress has a good surname," he commented dryly. The book looked very interesting though and he'd been about to thank her when a second book appeared. "Another one? You are spoiling me, Sarissa," he declared. He beamed with pleasure when he saw the title. "I did gt the job at the orca pool," he told her, "... and I am hoping to also work with the dolphins at the aquarium and this will definitely help me. Merci... thank you... very much!"
Yet still she hadn't finished.
The carving was stunning. Intricate lines formed the underside of the blue whale, defining its throat grooves, and it wore a charming smile that gave life to the figure. The small dorsal ridge was sheer perfection and as for its flukes... The whale looked poised to move into action and swim for the open waters. The artist was clearly very skilled.
"C'est magnifique," he said in a low voice and he tore his gaze from the carving to look at Sarissa. "I am at a loss for words," he admitted. "Thank you so much. I love the books... and I adore this little guy." Christophe ran his fingers over the smooth cedar wood with loving care. "But I have nothing for you and for that I am sad." He threw her a bright smile, removing any misunderstanding that he was, indeed, sad. Far from it. He would find Sarissa the perfect present in return...
"But tell me, what have I done to deserve such kindness? Not that I am complaining one bit," he quickly added.

"The carving was given to me by the Chief of the tribe I like to visit. I figured you would appreciate it more then me. As for the books, you are one of the only people to express an interest in what I like, so hence the first book and the second book...when i saw it I just had to get it. So no need to thank me." Sari explained.
"You are my friend and this stuff was more convenient for me to get. I was already at the book store and I had the carving." She told him. It had been true. Plus the books had been on sale so why not. "Mainly that stuff reminded me of you, so I thought you would enjoy it." Sari smiled at him as she sipped her soda and put the drink back down. She found it to be a gesture of friendship. "Some tribes believe in giving gifts to a new friend, as away of cementing a friendship."
She took another bite of her chicken and rice as she watched hum continue to look over the gifts. She was glad she liked them. They truly were a friendly gesture. "You do not have to pay me back...but if you insist on it, then just pay me back with a back rub or something. You know. I am not picky." She did not mind giving something as long as she felt the person deserved it. So far Christophe had been the only person besides her siblings that expressed any interest in the fact she liked to study Native American tribes and cultures.

Sarissa's reasons for giving Christophe the gifts was touching. No, beyond touching. He threw her a grin. "Sooo... some things remind you of me, huh? You think about me much?" he said in a half teasing tone. Sarissa poked his leg with the oes of her right foot and that caused him to laugh. "I am most happy to have our friendship cemented in this or any other manner," he added in a more serious voice. "And I have been told that my back rubs are exceptional. Turn around a little," he added and Sarissa obliged.
Christophe shunted closer to her back and slung one leg over the bench so that he sat astride it. He pushed her long hair over her left shoulder and out of the way before grasping the muscles above her shoulder. "You have a large knot here," he commented. "You must be worrying about something. This will hurt for a moment..." He pushed his thumb hard against the knot and held it there. "A moment more," he told her. It always hurt but afterwards it would feel amazing.
The thumb was lifted and he massaged the area in question. The knot had vanished, the lactic acid build up now dispersed. "Relax your shoslders," he said and he went to work on the mpromised massage. "When are you next going to the reservation? I would very much like to come and thank the chief for the carving.. unless he would be offended that you gave it to me, of course!"

"I don't know...maybe. Depends on how often you have been thinking of me." She teased as she poked him laughing. "You know they say when your nose itches it means someone is thinking about you." She added in as he told her about his back rubs. She gladly turned around. "Let's see about those back rubs. If you are that good, I might have to come find you more often." Sari said smiling as she took one last bite before sitting up straight. Her shirt had a low back so it should help. he was not kidding either.
"A little pain never hurts anyone. As the famous saying goes, no pain no gain." Only he was not kidding. Although it was not that bad, it did hurt. Not that Sari minded one bit, but still. "You call that pain. Yeah right, you must be a wuss." She said smirking. Then the real pleasure began. "Oh yeah...you are hired...you can do this more often." She said as she enjoyed the back rub. More then enjoyed it. "I envy your girlfriend who can get these a lot more." Of course technically Sari did not know if Christophe had a girlfriend, but she assumed he did.
She felt her shoulders slump slightly relaxed. Feeling very relaxed. So much so that small moan of pleasure escaped her lips. "If I keep that up someone will get the wrong idea." She smirked, "But don't stop." She laughed. "I am actually going this weekend. Tyler Durnham is coming with me for at least tonight and tomorrow. Not sure he will make it to Saturday night. Those people have a wicked sense of humor, of course I kind of told them to mess with Tyler." She admitted.
Should she invite Christophe. She knew Tyler might be disappointed cause h wanted it to be just them for obvious reasons, but she felt bad. Although she could always go back during the week. "You are more then welcome to come for a bit. I mean they love getting visitors and the chief would not mind at all. He enjoys it when we spread the wealth around so to speak. If this weekend is not good, you and I can go during the week. Its only an hour away. Not far at all."

Christophe laughed when Sarissa told him how much she appreciated his massage. "I was being gentle with you as it was your first time," he told her on a short laugh. He wasn't sure what to say in response to the girlfriend comment. He thought he had one but... didn't he? Lia had seemed to be avoiding him today so perhaps she'd had second thoughts...
"Tyler? Ah yes. We met... briefly. At Haley's party. We didn't really talk much more than in passing but I don't want to intrude in your day out with your boyfriend. I am more than happy to wait until later in the week. That way I get you all to myself," he said with a wink. "I can borrow my maman's car and drive us there. If you don't have time in the week after all then another weekend would be perfect. Just sometime soon. I would like to see this reservation and meet the people who you love so much.
Christophe straightened. "There. I think that will do otherwise your muscles will be sore come tomorrow morning. If your neck ever aches then give me a shout. I would be more than happy to free up your muscles again."

"My first time huh. Are you gentle with all the woman's first time?" Sari asked smiling, only he could not see the smile obviously, but the smile grew to a laugh once he mentioned Tyler as her boyfriend. She bust out laughing. Which lasted a good few minutes before she calmed down. "I am sorry, but thats funny. Tyler is not my boyfriend. He will never be my boyfriend, trust me on that. He is only a friend. Not anything more then that." Sari clarified.
"So you don't have any competition there." She joked. She was kidding, cause if the guy had a girlfriend then you could bet your ass she would be nothing but a friend for Christophe. Sari did not intrude when it came to matter of the heart. She was however, a nice girl and a flirt and she found both of those things very harmless. "So you are more then welcome to join me and my friend this weekend. " Sari said. She wondered if Tyler would be okay with that, but it would seriously add to the fun.
"But if you do want me alone then come up Sunday afternoon. I would not mind one bit. Tyler is leaving Sunday morning. I can give you directions." She offered. Sari turned around. "I will be texting you more often so keep your phone on you. I like this trade. I think I got the better end of the deal."
