Mac was so confused. By now he had learned about the school and how to get around from one class to another, but to get around LA itself, mac kept getting lost. usually he had a map, a cell phone or someone with him to help him get back, only this time...the car had a flat and his cell was dead. So Mac was stuck. To top it off, he was lost...so even if he called for help, no way he could tell where he was. Mac scratched the top of his head and looked at the map. His grandfather had let him take one of the cars. Mac wasn't even sure if his grandfather asked his Aunt or Uncle, but still.
No matter how you put it, the current thing he needed to focus on was how to find out where he was and get his tire fixed. No way Mac knew how to fix a tire, but he could at least know where he was. This was the problem with moving...or being kicked out...getting use to a whole new place was not fun. He had just learned how to drive in America too, so at least that was an accomplishment.
Mac considered walking, but if he did that, what if he could not get back. At least he was by the beach, that was a start. There were people he could ask at least. So mac left the car and walked the short way to the boardwalk. He walked over to someone who looked about his age, maybe older. Of course he could not see who it was cause the sun was in his eyes, but the person was sitting down. mac gave them a friendly smile as he tired to shield his eyes from the sun, "Excuse me can you please tell me where I am..I seem to be a bit lost?"

He'd come down to do some surfing after school, the water was good and the heat of the day was nice as well. He was sitting down and thinking about heading home while he dried of in the heat of the afternoon sun. When he heard someone ask where he was, shielding his eyes to look at said boy he smiled brightly, the Irish boy seemed to be familiar to him so he stood up and brushed himself of.
Brad approached to make sure he hadn't made a mistake, when he saw MacKenzie his smile widened, "Hey I heard you and your brother had arrived." Brad said to him. "Your not far from home, is everything okay?" he asked politely he knew a few of the Edwards family having holidayed with them every summer for more than a few years.
He hadn't had a chance to catch up with the other members of the family due to being so busy, but it was good to see Mackenzie right at that moment. He didn't know Mackenzie as well as he knew Alex and Jade he could only think of the one time that he had actually met the boy for more than a couple of minutes but any one who was family of Jade and Alex's was okay by him.

Well the man had the pleasure of knowing Mac, but mac did not have the pleasure of knowing him, and there was no mistaking the accent, which could only make this one person...Brad. Mac had heard he came to America around the same time Jade and Alex had. He knew he met Brad very, very briefly, but just from process of elimination it was not hard to tell this was Brad. Who else would recognize Mac and speak an Irish accent that was not a family member. Okay there might be more then he thought, but still.
"You must be Brad. Jade and Alex have spoken about you." Mac said, "Good to know, the car my grandfather let me borrow seems to have popped a tire and my cell phone is not alive at the moment, so i was not sure how I was going to make it home, let alone call someone." Mac explained. "You right now are a life saver." He told Brad.
It was true. Cause at least now he would not feel horrible asking to borrow Brad's cell phone to call someone from home about the car. He just hoped he did not get in trouble for it. Grandfather could be unpredictable and yell for no reason. Personally Mac though grandfather liked to have someone to be in trouble or something.

Brad nodded, "Yeah thats me, they've told me about you coming but I haven't really had the chance to come and say hi. I've been pretty busy this week." Brad explained with a smile. "A flat tire, so do you have a spare on you?" he asked MacKenzie. "If so I can probably change it for you, or we can call out a local garage that way the family don't have to know that their was a problem if you dont want them to." Brad said to him.
"I was down here surfing so your a bit lucky, I usually surf a couple of miles further down, its quieter and there tend to be less tourists so I can't really complain but not tonight. I wanted to come down and surf and I couldn't be bothered to find a better spot." he explained to Mackenzie. "So how are you finding LA life?" he asked him. "It took me months to get used to it, but then I think LA is on a completely different level to the rest of America." Brad said to him. "If your let me put my board back on the roof of my car, I'd be more than happy to help you in anyway I can." Brad said to him.
"Besides anybody who is related to Jade is a friend of mine." Brad said his history with Jade aside he was close with the twins and well they would probably be glad that he had someone they trusted helping him.

"A spare...." Mac looked at Brad as if he was speaking a foreign language and they spoke the same damn language. "for most of my life I had a driver. I mean I learned to drive, but even then...cars have a spare?" He asked Brad. He felt stupid. "i never thought to even look. Where would a car keep a spare tire...some are so small." Mac could have his dumb moments. Everyone did, but this also proved how he was just a bit spoiled. " I don't exactly mind if my grandfather finds out, but you know the family, so I am sure you have heard of him..it's more like i would rather not hear about it."
Mac looked up and down the beach. "I would love to learn how to surf...do you teach people...or know where I can learn. I could use some sort of new hobby or sport while I am here. It can get rather boring at the house...and frankly sometimes its better to be out then in." He said smiling at Brad. "Yes, let me walk you to your automobile. Is there anyway I can help you put this thing on the roof?" Mac wanted to help since brad was helping him at the moment.
Mac held out his hand to shake Brad's. "Good to know. i could use more friends. I mean Jade and Alex are great to know, but one can never lack friends." Mac told Brad. Besides if his cousins liked the man then Brad had to be a good guy.

Brad grinned at this, "I could almost forget that your related to Jade and Alex, I can't remember the last time they took a limo or merc with a driver out of choice anyway." Brad said though he knew that Jade was using one while he couldn't drive he knew that his friend would prefer to drive himself. "Its probably in the boot if not my spare could probably go on yours." Brad said with a little bit of luck anyway he thought to himself. "I used to date Jade, trust me I know what your family is like, though from what I know his parents are the less strict side of things." Brad said to him. "Well we dated for a summer anyway." he added.
He listened to the younger boy with a smile, teaching surfing to someone really wasn't something he had done before but it was something he would consider trying.
"Sure I can give it a shot, I mean what self respecting Aussie doesn't know how to Surf... possibly excluding those who live in the outback. So sure if you want to learn I can probably teach you what you need to know. Your love it I'm almost certain of it." Brad said with a smile. "Sure thing my cars not far from here I think." he said to Mackenzie.
Brad nodded his understanding as Mackenzie said he didn't really know anyone in town, "I get that, I used to be the new kid in town who knew nobody besides Jade, Alex and Sarah. Your brothers here to right? Okay well lets get my board up and then we can see how bad your tire is." Brad said to him. "I love the accent by the way." he said with a broad smile. "Aussie seems to be so droll when next to the Irish one." Brad added.

"You would be correct in your assumption. Although I have learned how to drive, my father always insisted on a driver. He claimed that my brother and I driving around ourselves was unsafe and we could be hurt. So I barely got to drive myself until now." Mac gave a sheepish grin, "Kind of spoiled I know. I hate to admit it." He told Brad. "Wait...you and Jade...dated....." Mac had never known that, "I thought he recently came out." Mac had no idea Jade might have acted on his feelings prior to moving to America. Then again it was possible his father would have attempted to hide this from Mac and his brother. Apparently it was hidden well. Then again Mac had a tendency to be in his own world at times.
"I do want to learn. Living near the beach seems a waste not to learn how to surf. I have heard of it, but never tried. " Mac shrugged, "My father has this thing about anything the even has the tiniest bit of danger involved. But he is not here." Mac was kind of happy about that, but sad too. It was nice not having someone so strict, but at the same time the reason he was in America...aka he was kicked out...was not so great.
"See I find the Aussie accent drool worthy. I live with Irish accents so hearing an Aussie is making me weak in the knees." He said to Brad, who he would admit, was easy on the eyes. Mac walked with Brad to his car and helped him with the board and then they walked to the car he was borrowing. "Think you can help....if you can I will buy you dinner to repay you." Mac was serious too. He would repay Brad just for suggesting he could help.

Brad smiled, "Yeah we dated during the summer, his parents and mine usually get us together for the summer months in Australia... the first time we did this he and I dated for a little while. Neither was actually out, I think Alex knew about Jade at the time. I dont think that their is anything those two don't know about each other if I'm honest." he added with a grin.
"Okay well, this weekend how about I see whether I can sort you out one of my old boards or we can hire one and I can give you a try at teaching you to surf." Brad said to him. "I should point out that I am not an expert in all things surfing but I should be able to teach you what I know without any issues." Brad said to him.
"You don't need to buy me dinner, maybe a can of diet coke would do the trick." Brad said to him.
Brad liked the Edwards family, he'd spent enough time in their company, so it wasn't hard to like Mackenzie he seemed like a good person and someone that Brad should get to know. Especially since the boy didn't seem to know any one, any physical attraction he felt for Mackenzie and he had to admit that their was some would be put on hold.
"But so you know I prefer big macs if you insist." he said to him.
