Cam wandered down the hall, sort of away from everyone else. Sure, most of Haley's friends were starting to be nice to him, but he still sort of felt out of place. They all seemed to have a million things in common and Cameron was still just a nerd who only had things like math and science to talk about.
And he did trust Haley with Tyler. He really did, but they had been flirting. Cameron wasn't stupid. But he couldn't exactly expect Haley not to flirt with other guys. Not when she was stuck with him who wasn't nearly as good looking as the others (or at least that's what Cam thought). But he still trusted she wouldn't actually do anything. A thought that was little comfort, especially do to the two drinks he'd had.
Sure, it had only been two drinks, but Cam had never really drank before, and the buzz that filled his head combined with his feeling like an outcast was a bit too much to handle at the moment. He'd rejoin the party at some point, but for now, he wandered down the hall pushing his way into Haley's room.
Once inside he turned on the light and lay down on her bed on top of the covers. He'd be there for her when she was ready. She was probably the only one who cared to see him at any point in the night anyway. And he thought he looked kind of dumb in the costume Haley had picked out. He just wasn't comfortable in costumes.
So he lay there, eyes closed, until he fell asleep or changed his mind and decided to rejoin the party, whatever happened first.
