Friday night and Mom had the night off from the theater! It was a rarity but she wanted to enjoy it. She checked on line for any events that were either cheap, free or better some place where she could sing.
She found a place that was offering karaoke for the night, and there was no booze, so it the bad singers even worse! It sounded like a ball, even though going alone since Greg was at the party and she hadn't really called anyone else to go.
She headed downstairs where he nana and mother were playing a game of Scrabble. Nana was winning as usual, she could always find a place to play a ton of two letter words which added her score.
She kissed Nana on the cheek then her mother. "I'm going out to karaoke tonight, and yes I'll be home by midnight and I have my phone just in case."
Her mother smiled and approved. "Fine dear, have fun and don't hit any sour notes!"
Marrianne laughed as she left and got into her car. She arrived a short time later and entered, there was a nice small crowd. She sat at a table and started looking through the book when a shadow blocked her.
"Sorry you missed Groundhogs day by 2 weeks!" She laughed at the shadow.
