Roxy was going stir crazy. Sure, she'd managed to sneak out of her house more than a few times but her parents were starting to come down on her hard. They were starting to check on her more...keep a closer eye on her...making it harder to sneak out. Roxy couldn't handle it. She just wanted to run around screaming!
She skipped down the hall, mostly to get her pent up energy out. She hadn't seen much of anyone lately. Not Thad or Ezzie...not Elend...her new friend... She wasn't quite sure what was going on there. She'd done some things she wasn't exactly proud of in order to impress the other girl but she'd also had a ton of fun. She knew very well that Thad and Ezzie wouldn't approve, which was why she had no intention of telling either of them how she'd pretty much slept with a guy she didn't know for a fake id.
But she wasn't really thinking about that. She wasn't really thinking about anything other than the fact that a school day was about to start another school day and she didn't think it was possible to sit through even one class. Reaching her locker, she opened it up "AHHHHH!" she screamed into it for a moment, causing herself to break out into giggles. "Ah, that feels better," she laughed, speaking aloud but to no one in particular.

Levi watched as Roxy skipped past him in the hallway. He admired the girl's courage, as he knew he could never bring himself to do something that would make him an obvious target for bullies. But the girl didn't seem to care if anyone noticed, and no one else seem to care about her skipping in return. It seemed like a good deal, one Levi never managed to get.
He also noticed as Roxy screamed into her own locker, then started giggling. The girl was being very weird, and Levi wondered if everything was okay. A momentary urge crossed his mind, one that told him he should go ask her. But the insanity was only temporary. She was nice and all, and she talked to Levi, but there was no way he was going to approach her and start a conversation. Instead, he shut his locker and shambled off past the girl to class.
Head down and eyes to the floor, that was Levi's daily plan for walking to class. Make no eye contact and no one will bother you. Sadly, that wasn't always the case, and today just happened to be one of those occasions. With his eyes to the floor, Levi didn't even see it coming. All he saw was the pair of converse shoes come much too near to his own feet, and then he felt the force of a fairly strong shove. He slammed against a locker as he heard the voice of Liz Davies mumble “Fuckin' geeks.”
His shoulder now throbbed, and he paused a moment to rub it only to look up directly at the girl he had been watching before. The color drained from his face as he realized sh must have seen the whole thing. She had to have seen that even a girl could push Levi around. “Umm...” the boy stammered, trying desperately to deflect the attention from himself. “Are you okay? I heard you, you know, umm... before. Scream. And laugh?” Levi zipped his mouth before the rambling could continue on and his hand moved from his shoulder to the back of his neck.

Roxy turned from her locker just in time to see some supposedly popular Silver girl push poor Levi down. Right! Levi! Roxy had been very intent on forcing him to be her friend before she'd gotten side tracked by all the craziness that was going on in her life at the moment. She'd heard the girl say 'fuckin' geeks' as she pushed him, so Roxy made a face, "Fuckin' Bitches," she said, mimicking the same tone the girl had used.
She reached out, placing her hands on his shoulders to steady him as he slammed against the lockers, so he wouldn't fall to the ground. "Am I okay? You mean are you okay, right?" she asked giving him sort of an odd look before he explained why he was asking. Once he did she giggled. "Yeah, I've just been like grounded for like ever and haven't been able to do like anything, so I was just letting energy out," she explained. "And after I screamed I thought it was sort of funny...yeah, I'm weird," she said with a shrug. "You are okay though, right? Nothin' broken?" she asked although she really was kidding about stuff being broken. She doubted anything was. She let go of his shoulders.
"How was your birthday?" she asked, since he'd mentioned it was coming up last time she'd spoken to him. He'd used it as an excuse not to go bowling. "I never got a chance to go bowling anyway--I tried to help break my friend Thad out of his house so he could come--cause he was grounded, but his moms' told my parents and I got grounded," she said, shaking her head. It seemed like she was always in trouble. It really did suck. "So what did you end up doing anyway?" she asked, genuinely interested, mostly because she thought this Levi kid could really, really use a friend, or at least someone to stand up for him. He seemed to get picked on a lot.

“Yeah, I'm okay,” Levi murmured, hoping Roxy wouldn't make too big of a deal about it. She was a nice girl, and he hoped she considered him a friend. He did feel slightly uncomfortable with her hands on his shoulders, but mostly because it felt really nice to have a girl touch him in any fashion.
“You're not weird!” He blurted without realizing what he was saying. “I mean, being grounded really sucks, and uh, you know...” Levi really didn't know, as he had never been grounded himself. The closest he had ever come was a harsh scolding from his father for being too loud one night when Denny was staying over. After that, Levi knew not to have the sound too loud in the home theatre at night. “And yeah, really, I'm fine.”
Levi noticed that the more time he spent around Roxy, the more comfortable he felt. Certainly he felt slightly awkward as she seemed to try to keep the focus on him, but it was nice to have a pretty girl seem to care about his life. The idea that she might like him, like really like him once again crossed his mind, but he knew that was impossible.
“Oh, yeah, it was fun. My dad took Denny and I on the lot to see filming on Dragon Mountain. I mean, most of it's been filmed in New Zealand already, so they're just finishing up some indoor stuff that they didn't do in New Zealand.” Levi didn't figure Roxy to be too much of a fantasy nerd, so he left it at that. If he started talking too much, he might reveal how dorky he could be, as he had been waiting for this movie for a long time and he could totally geek out over it if he wasn't careful. “Sorry about bowling.”

"That's good," Roxy said. "I really don't get what people's problems are. Does it really make them feel better to push people around?" Roxy never had had the urge to push someone just because she could...okay, maybe she had, but for her it was in a much more fun way, not in a mean way like the people who had pushed poor Levi. Nobody had ever bothered trying to push Roxy down like that, probably because they knew that she'd push back. If there was one thing about Roxy, she was not even slightly afraid to make herself heard. "And yeah, I am kinda weird, but I'm okay with it. I think everyone is a little weird. Just most people don't like to show it." She shrugged. She really usually didn't care what people thought of her, which was why it was sort of odd that she was going out of her way to let Elend think she was more scandalous that she actually was, or maybe she was more trying to prove it to herself. She wasn't sure yet.
"Yeah, I know being grounded really does suck. I'm hoping I can talk my parents into letting me out for the weekend, but who knows. It probably doesn't help that my mom's been like picking me up at school to make sure I come straight home and I ditched out on her the other day. I couldn't help it...ya know. I hate being cooped up," she blabbed on. She was too energetic of a person to be locked up inside anyway.
Roxy didn't really think much of Levi feeling comfortable talking to her. She didn't know him well enough to know how nervous he usually got around girls. "That's cool," she said, seeing his enthusiasm on being on set. Roxy had had some acting jobs and she hated being on set. She just liked acting for fun, like the school play. She had no desire to do it professionally, like her parents wanted her to. And no, Roxy was not a huge fantasy nerd but she didn't mind it either. She didn't know much about Dragon Mountain but she liked things like Harry Potter and Narnia. "Was it like green screen and all that?" she asked, figuring that's probably the stuff they'd do here. "You know, I went on an audition for that," she said, "I sort of blew it on purpose though. I kind of do that a lot cause my parents are always setting up these auditions for me that I don't want to go on. Sometimes messing them up can be fun though. Like in that one, I'm pretty sure I starting crying hysterically in the middle of a very non dramatic scene. The reactions of the casting directors is usually priceless," she informed him. "I didn't want to have to go to New Zealand though, otherwise, I think that might have been fun. I bet the costumes were cool."
She just shrugged when he mentioned the bowling. "It's okay," she said. "I heard it was like way dramatic anyway, apparently that Evan guy and his girlfriend, Brittany, with the way cool hair got in like a huge fight and left anyway. Apparently Evan was like punched out by one of the guy's in her band," she said, repeating the gossip she'd heard. She'd seen them together in school this week though, so whatever the drama was, it seemed to be over now. "Maybe we should set up another group bowling thing though...when Thad and I are both done being grounded, of course."
